Training grounds is boring.

I really don't understand why they removed the perpetual event of QB. It allows the addicts to get their fix. Isnt that what the game creators want?2

it's nice that there have been 2 each day. or maybe that was just me? that wouldn't make sense though.1

Is what im thinking. Qb was popular for a reason. Yes rewards. But also competing for thos rewards in a competitive competition.2

The issue (as I understand it) was that cheating was rampant, and (more importantly) it was boring. Putting in days worth of time to get 10 crystals and a few thousand runes just wasn't fun for a lot of people anymore (although the top players did love their free mythics and packs). Every deck was a variation of a Zoo deck. The training grounds allows you to grind, but with guaranteed rewards and less pressure to rush through. I think its great, since I can play my older decks and not worry about time or only getting 100 runes as a reward

I also like it. It's an EZ PZ, low stress way to get 15 gems and 1000 runes in under thirty minutes. Thumbs up.

I like that is a quick easy way to get crystals and runes, but there should be some ongoing daily leaderboard event to keep things interesting. Maybe something different from QB, which had its share of problems, but something to keep the competition fun. Maybe an inter-coalition race? Or coalition-vs-coalition challenge? Those of you who played in those late qb brackets and fought for top ten know the fun that an hour-long qb crunch can be sometimes. Unfortunately, we'll never get that in Training Grounds.0

I also like training grounds better for those reasons. Since I don't have the ultra efficient low-cost creatures I could barely get to the guaranteed uncommon level, and most of the time I might even fall below the crystals rank by the time I woke up and the event was over.
Because of that I just started ignoring QB because it doesn't work for a new player regardless of tier with the fact that some players seemed to be intentionally remaining low tier but had those ultra efficient creatures.

I would just like to see a qb style event. Not every day but at least a few times a week. It doesn't need to have a mythic plus packs plus hundreds of crystals for a prise. Just something decent worth fighting for.0

Training Grounds fails at being content for casual, non-competitive players like myself because now rather than the random pull of any deck like Quick Battle, I only fave the fully optimized Koth/Kiora/Nahiri decks everyone else used to meet progression.
My opinion, it's now worse than Nodes of Power, which previously was my least enjoyed event.1 -
I really enjoy Training Grounds as its own thing. 4 wins and I can stop playing. No secondary objectives telling me that I have to cast 16 Homunculuses and win the game with 5 life or less remaining.
I don't care for it as a replacement for Quick Battle. The problem with Quick Battle, in my mind, is that you were in these 3,000 player brackets, and the #100 player in the first bracket got the same prize as the #100 player in the last bracket. The incentive was to not play it, until just a few hours were left.
I would prefer that Quick Battle had been tweaked, so that there was an incentive to start in on the first bracket (such as better prizes, or allowing people to cash out with a smaller prize and join a new bracket), or if there was no penalty for being in the first bracket (all players have 24 hours to compete, regardless of when they join the bracket).
As it was, I spent way more time not playing Quick Battle than playing Quick Battle. Avoid it like the plague on Friday Night, Saturday, Sunday, Monday morning, Monday afternoon, then play like crazy to try to get a top 150 spot and a guaranteed rare, which would usually turn out to be a duplicate.

I really liked training grounds, the problem is that your comparing it to old QB, but if we analyse it as a stand alone event, it is the best event out there. Fun to play, I play with whatever pw I want and don't need to be fast. Only has progression rewards, so I don't need to bother if I lost and it is short, only 4 matches.1

I agree with @Dropspot. I like TG for all the reasons people have said. It's also a bad QB replacement for all the reasons people have said. On balance, I'm personally happy with ditching QB for TG, especially with two TG running a day, since I rarely played more than 8 QB in a day and now my rune rewards are higher.

I don't mind TG.
But I wish they would keep the stats for longer. Like maybe reset it every month.
The QB aspect I miss most is the constant goal of improving my stats.2 -
Only thing I wish for is a reach progression award, like 20 per event, to allow you to obtain a rare or better of older sets. Only reason I played QB was for the (super-low, admittedly) chance to get Zendikar, Innistrad and Origins rares (one day, Harbinger of Tides, we will be together).2

Why in 27 matches so far have i played against the planeswalker i am using in 26 of them?

I like the idea of a grindable way of getting a rare or better in the area of a progression reward. A new player like myself had basically no chance of getting a QB rare without devoting a lot of time to maintain a position. Not sure the best way of getting this in the training grounds setting, but i'd love to see it.

I think basing rewards like rare or mythic on win percent would be as cool way to give everyone a chance. U play to ur level I think so that may help lower players.0

I have no idea how to post a picture on these new forums but here's the deck.
