Beat it pretty handily with 3* Champs.  Tried it with 2* champs.  I did win with bagman, Ms, Marvel, Modern Hawkeye.

2* champs is pretty tough.  each gauntlet bomb will one shot or near one shot them.  the gauntlet causes damages by charging basic tiles, so you definitely can minimize damage.  Other than that,  bring board control specialists and 1shot nukers.  Some good TUs help as well.

I won 2/4 matches with different 2* champs, but should be able to easily do 30-40k damage in this format.

I only have two 3champs (Fist and Witch), and one who needs one last cover (Cage): but they're handling it pretty well. Thanos can one-hit one of my guys in round 7, but I can usually burst him down before he gets a second shot off.

Same here. Actually used more of my roster, instead of just one dream team option.

I would agree with you but the event and the boss after about 7 becomes unplayable by anyone that is not a 1000 day player with multiple champed 4s and some good covered 5s. When a open node has a 25000 health boss your only catering to your whales. Great way to scare off anyone that might actually spend money on the game but havent been playing that long.
Try 1* hawkeye. Makes Thanos a Sad Titan. I'm sorry but this event is way too easy.

I'm also enjoying this event, my only recommendation would be the infinity stone icons.  I wish they could have mustered up some new art, even if they were colored ovals. e.g

Honestly I was thinking the same. The timer-less skulls seemed a bit odd. Especially since they made a gauntlet icon for Thanos to have.

I was thinking about this earlier, and I wondered if maybe they have a gem-shaped icon that they want to save for tiles for a particular character later down the line (I can't imagine who offhand)

As far as the little skulls, I'm sure they could spin some kind of connection to Lady Death

Really enjoyed the event.  Especially enjoyed the fact there were so many strategies/teams offered, its a good sign that there wasnt a single option to crack it.

I thought it was pretty easy all the way up to round 8, where Thanos really started testing me more.

It could have been harder, but not necessarily much harder.  Rather a more consistent increase in difficulty through the rounds, instead of the rather hard jump I found at the end.
The "jump" at the end isn't really a jump though. It's just that that is finally the point where he can one-shot nearly anything less than a champed 4*. But he get so that point by gradually increasing his damage, not with one huge jump.

Actually, you know what? I just realised why they couldn't do different shaped tiles.

That cuts out all of your colourblind players. The existing tiles are given colours and shapes for that reason, if you suddenly add six identically shaped objects to the game with no way of telling them apart *other than* their colour, you wouldn't know how to match them.

That said, the skull symbol is still a poor choice for an infinity stone. It needs something, but it can't change the shape of the tile itself.

Yeah, that's why I assumed you guys were talking about the icons stamped onto the tiles rather than the shapes of the tiles themselves.

With that in mind, it would probably be possible for an Infinity tile to have the same shape as a standard tile, but have a gem-cut texture and a glowing/glinting animation. I couldn't think of a mechanical precedent for animated tiles, but the hint highlight is probably functionally similar. It would still be clear which stone is designated which color, but the visual style would have more punch.

Again the difficulty for the rewards was spot on. If you've got champed three stars you should be able to earn four stars.

The only reason the difficulty should go up is if the rewards do also.

If you're going to put a guaranteed five star token (like the Wolverine one recently) as round 8 then fine I expect it to be stronger alliances only. But for a 10% chance at a 5* then this level of difficulty was spot on.

Id like to add my 2 pence in. I thought the Thanos event and Boss were very well done. New concept and interesting set up. I wasn’t blown out of the water by MMR and I was able to properly contribute to the overall total by my alliance.

If I was being ultra picky I would say that it was a little easy to defeat Thanos but overall I say it was very well done indeed.

My alliance had never completed a boss event before, either due to insane difficulty from the boss, or ridiculous scaling from minions.

We managed to beat Thanos with 18 hours to spare. So I suppose he was a little easy in that regard, but I don't think Thanos himself needs any work doing, just the infinity stones. Maybe weaken one or two just a tad.

I really don't want them to use a sledgehammer to nudge the cake decoration back into place.

Hell, easy can sometimes be fun too. Not everything needs to be a blisteringly hard, uber frustrating challenge. This is MPq, not Dark Souls 8I
