AI is Stacked Against Us --Nodes of Killwind

I'm sorry if I came across as passive-aggressive. It's tricky to get tone right via text.
I don't think it's necessary to call people liars when there's the more charitable (and more likely) option that he simply changed his mind.
Its pretty believable that someone said something extreme in the heat of passion and then dialed it back a bit later when they had calmed down. Right?0 -
Guys. Can't you see that this it can become a great pve event? Check yourself against Avacyn, Tezzereth and Killwind. Secondary objective: do not curse during the match0

Thanks for posting this, Mersicide. I always wondered if the people within the pool actually played the other common opponents, or if you were immune to Killwind/Brian.0 -
since killwind is no longer playing and since d3 has a broken system. why not game the system to the benifit of the players.
If killwind could be convinced to load the game one more time. redo each deck using only common cards that don't work together. basicly creating an easy button for other players. then remove the game from his/her device again. then maybe D3 would be goaded into fixing the problem.
as it is they have a badass gatekeeper working for them to knock players out of perfect games.(which works in their favor)
grant it this would be a great favor by killwind and assuming someday killwind came back to play he/she could do as he/she sees fit with the decks. this would only be something to do while the matchmaking is broken and killwind is not actively playing.0 -
We are trying to assess how badly the matchmaking system is broken when a player that doesn't join an event can still be put into matches (and not just some but many).
Throwing in a level of ambiguity that perhaps he didn't quit etc etc doesn't help us get any answers from D3H on this and rest assured Killwind did not join, has no intent of joining and couldn't join if he wanted to.
This is 100% fact which leads us back to the topic at hand - why are we seeing his decks? Yes his data is in the system, but surely you should be paired against active decks. How many other necro decks are included?
Tin foil hat theory here is once again back to "The AI is so catastrophically bad the only substitute we have for actually fixing it, is to cherry pick the most notorious players and use their decks at a significantly higher than random rate to paper over the cracks"
I would love to have some reassurance that this is not the case, but I think we all know the truth of the situation. It is a lazy fix and one we now have some prima facie evidence supporting that it is well and truly being deployed.
D3H, your silence once again speaks volumes.0 -
Moderator reminder: please keep it civil and on topic. If your comment is about another poster in the thread rather than the topic at hand, don't post it, no matter how right you're certain you are.0

Hi Everyone. First off, and most importantly, please keep discussions civil and constructive, just like Dayv said.
Secondly, I personally can't speak for the intricacies of how Matchmaking works behind-the-scenes, but I've reached out to the developers to see if they could shed some light on how a player's deck might still be in the deck pool even if they didn't enter it.
Please be patient, the team is very busy getting the new update ready for everyone (which includes Deck Slots, Theme Decks, etc), as it might take some time for them to reply. When I get a response from them though, I'll be sure to update everyone with the news.
Thank you for understanding0 -

How is that random? I still beat them all. That's not the point. Matchmaking is beyond broken.
Whooptie doo!

Deck slots? This patch? Are they thinking before the Amonkhet release or after?0 -

Thank you for taking time to reach out on clarification.0 -
But when opponents are just taken out of the account pool, it would explain why you face so many none event decks and so many players with 0 points.
Furthermore I noticed I'm my first event after the bracket where trimmed down to 1000 players, that some of the 0 point opponent where close to 3000 in ranking. Though 1000 should be that last right?
I guess it makes sense from there perspective to take all accounts (active or not) as opponents for the active players.
I remember facing a Nissan 1 alot that had almost just a starter deck. This account was artificial or just abandoned long time ago.0 -

PS. What about if you faced a Toyota 1 or a Honda 1?0 -
Faced Killwind 3 rimes last NOP0

I'll echo the call for matching against actual players with current decks. I'd be happy for other players to play against my decks, even if the AI might play them poorly.0

If you give Planeswalker names that are close enough to the examples to be corrected unnoticed by the auto correct than Toyota 1 and Honda 1 will be possible as well.0 -
In gold I face the same 3-5 opponents in every single event.0

If Killwind has quit, then please explain how he has 11 points in Planeswalker Arena.0

Please lock this thread I simply do not feel the need to explain myself!0

Then just don't. This thread isn't about you personally, but about a serious problem with the matchmakingmachine.. You just happen to be the example qualified to point this out - and since I reached platinum you're like 10% of my overall pvp experience (no one beats Brian when it comes to matches for me), so a good chosen one.0
