A simple poll

Here, its kinda like "We know it's not groupthink, because *somebody* disagreed--they are really making a point here".
Yeah um, that's how I intended it. Sure.0 -
The poll idea was perfect.0

Ummm? Where did the second vote come from?0

I voted positively. I think the new event is a good idea and encourages players to have to utilize their resources. We have been given freemium currency (crystals) for free for a really long time (calculated it out to be between 600-700 crystals every week if you do well/average on every event). This event is an OFFER that players have A CHOICE to make. The other events still run. I just don't see anything negative in this event besides the entire player base whining for more free stuff. I like the new currency and the new direction. There is also a completely new free event every weekend that players can participate in. The way I see it, the update hasn't taken away from anyone, it just adds new stuff and gives players more choices. Everyone complaining is an entitled crybaby.0

The question was about whether you thought the game was heading in the right direction, not whether you like the update. Can you honestly say that you think the mass exoduses and protests are good for the future of the game? Do you think the game can prosper and flourish with all this going on? I agree, I like the new events to be honest, but the rewards arent worth it to me. Nor are they for just about every event.0 -

Maybe this update shows how horrible and greedy the player base is, but yeah I do think this game is going in the right direction. More choices, more events running at the same time, more in game currency, and generally more options is a good thing imo. The rewards for every event aren't "worth" it? Like playing the game for free and getting free premium currency isn't worth it?0 -

Hi Gandhi! I see you're new around here. Have you joined a coalition yet? Might I suggest DefiantEmpyr?0 -

I've been playing for about 9 months and am in a top 10 coalition. Thanks for the offer though.0 -

I liked the ideas presented in the update, but once the update hit, the implementation of those ideas has me less than enthused.
It's like the devs are saying "Yes, we hear what the players are asking for and, yes, we can give you that... but what are you going to give us in return?"
Well, I'm sorry, but I feel like many of us have given you plenty already, mostly based off of the game's potential. Your cash spent vs received value is already lower than many other games, so you respond by lowering it more? Bold strategy, Cotton, lets see if it pays off.
I think one thing that really frustrates people is that some of the things the players are asking for are extremely easy fixes. The lack of attention to them can only be based on the perceived hit to your bottom line. I can understand that. What you guys need to understand is that without addressing some of the more prominent issues, players will leave. I don't mean players will complain on the forums and make threats, I mean they will shut the game down one day, maybe not even intending to leave. They won't pick it up for a while. Then something happens, they realize they don't miss it because the frustrations outweighed the fun. Then you've lost them for good.0 -

I personally, and respectively, think that if you believe this all to be a good thing you are ignorant to what is actually happening.
There were 2 currencies already, one under utilized. They created a third that gets you access to a new level of card that is gained slowly but can be purchased. And by tacking it on to existing packages, they were given an excuse to charge $5 more per package for a resource that cost them nothing. Then, on top of this, they added another consumer of the one currency that currently buys everything - packs & pw (unless you spend money).
So take a step back and take note on the economy they are creating. Virtual currency is already a infinite resource with zero cost but is offset by desire driven value. They depreciated the heavily used currency by raising the costs of what it used to buy and introduced a new currency to raise the intro price to the old currency.
It is a scheme, plain and simple. Much like when they release an anticipated PW into the vault and put the mythic packs into the vault in the same week (all without warning for thosr who save up gems to buy what they want. Whether the gems are purchased or earned is irrelevant).
In the end this ostracizes new players by putting them at a spending and card disadvantage, while also ostrasizing loyal players by devaluing their previous purchases and attempts to entice them to spend more on what is essentially less.
And thus the players whining and wanting free blah blah have a right like every customer base that is dumped on to take to the medium of communication and express their frustration.
Thanks and have a nice day
Edit id like to add that the individual who chooses to spend wisely or not at all (ie earn their reward) also got the shaft because the devs skewed event rewards even further in their profit margin's favor (possibly anyway, if people quit they get less money so it was a risky move indeed. Almost a desperate last milking before being put out to pasture).0 -
Can we please not dogpile on people who decide to vote positively? We have enough negative feedback to show them why exactly so many people are unhappy, yet they feel differently. If everyone who voted negatively starts explaining to them why they're wrong, it'll start feeling an awful lot like an attack. It's their choice and that's why we have two options in the poll.
Calling people 'ignorant' because they disagree with you is uncalled for. Calling people who disagree with you 'entitled crybabies' is equally unnecessary, but since we've already had an apology, let's say it didn't happen - just this one time. Please keep it civil, folks. Thanks!0 -
I dont wish to discourage voting either way but his approach was brash. The vote is in and cant be changed. I thought it well to point out the reasonable flaw in his abrasive response.
As far as calling someone ignorant, all too often people consider that word an insult when it simply means they are unknowing of something whether good or bad. In this case he seemed to be missing or unknowing as to why everyone was up in arms.
Id appoligize but I feel I was intelligent, in the right, and respectful in my post to him, more so than he was to everyone else.
And although I agree we ahouldnt become combative as a community as these changes effect us all, I believe a certain risk is taken when you announce your post. That would be like voting in politics, leaving the both and yelling to everyone how you voted. Expect response.0 -

So to summarise:
1) Calling someone ignorant isn't an insult.
2) Sorry not sorry.
3) When you vote against the mob, getting bullied is your own fault.
Alve gave you an out. Come on. Take it.0 -

I never said anything about bullying being okay. You are playing the victim card when he was not a victim, he came out swinging and I gave a far more respectful answer than he. I simply pointed out you can vote and keep it to yourself, or vote and speak your mind respectfully. He took the third option.
I am stopping here, form whatever opinion of me you want. Pointing out ignorance is not an insult unless you chose it to be from the receiving end. If my aim had been nasty or derogatory, there is a plethora of other terms I could have used.
So fine, I appologize for the misunderstanding in terminology. My response was not intended to attack or belittle but to provide a tasteful counterpoint.
In order to avoid derailing this thread any further, I'm taking this to pm, where I'll explain my reasons. If anyone would like to see the explanation, as they don't understand what I meant, feel free to contact me in priv. Please, stick to the topic. Thanks! // Alve0
