Before & After : Your Story

  • Women have their Facebook and their stupid Catfish show( which is awesome) so why can't we men (and hailmary) have our MPQ?

We demand freedom, We demand equal rights.
  • Funny stuff.

I used to spend time looking at my kids while I talked to them - now I am always looking down at my iPad so eye contact is rare. Also I have a terrible ache in my neck from always looking at my iPad. I have started playing MPQ under the covers like a little kid because I don't want my hubby to notice how late I am up playing.

I introduced my 3 year old to Peggle on Xbox in the hope that I could get a Top 2 finish in a LR last week. I was 45 minutes in and heard the victory music playing - without looking up I started praising him for beating a level. He did not seem excited - he seemed bored in fact. Later that day I realized that the victory music plays everytime you try to access the full game because it was not purchased/fully unlocked.

    It's real bad.

    Before:

I played many different games, but mostly Monster Hunter. My wife would complain that I don't do enough to finish college. I worked & slept with the occasional brewery stop.

    After:

I played MPQ, but occasionally other games when I run out of Health Packs. My wife complains that I don't do enough to finish college. I work & sleep with the occasional brewery stop.

The only thing I regret is that I haven't played Monster Hunter since I started playing MPQ.

I don't have much of a before or after story. I'm happily married.

Still can't get my wife to play this game though. icon_twisted.gif

To Riggy, I quit FNMagic for MPQ LOL! I still love EDH though. Better than standard.
Yeah, I do drafts on Friday nights instead of standard. Don't have the time to keep up with standard right now. I did pick up an Olivia Voldaeren for EDH b/c I thought it would be fun to have a general named after my daughter. It's a bad trend to have started though. My wife is pregnant with twins (both girls) and one of the names we're thinking of is Autumn. I just can't bring myself to make a mono-green deck around Autumn Willow. icon_e_sad.gif

Congrats on the twins! I have 13 month old twins (boy and a girl). It's amazing, wonderful, and exhausting.

Play Immortalis. Oh, siege week is on and I like the rewards. I want to make top 10. Better take leave for the week so that I can play round the clock for the 10 days.

    After:

Play MPQ. Oh, this PvE has only a main map and no sub events. Just need to cruise through the earlier days and make a final push towards the end. Nice that the end is quite near to lunch break. Let's have an early lunch and try to make it top 2.

Seems I have more of a life after. Hmm...

Very cool, congrats. Thanks for proving that it's still possible to have some semblance of a gaming life post twins. We have a daughter who is just about 20 months. She's just gotten the hang of feeding herself to the point where I can set her plate down, hand her a spoon, and then hide my phone with my plate and play MPQ (at least on nights when my wife works late).

Before: Was taking care of my boys, with playing occasional some stupid facebook game that does not take time, went to bed fairly early as baby wakes up quite early and i like my sleep

After: Leaving kids to take care by themselves, baby learns to walk and 3.5 year old is either helping me playing MPQ (he especially likes BW char, thinks she is pretty) or watching some cartoon. Living the life around HP, when i manage to change diapers, make food, do basic clean up etc. Managed to get hubby to dl the game but with no real luck of him grinding into it (even though he plays candy crush?!?!?!). Above all i am now living on loads of espresso as i dont sleep enough, and kiddos are waking up all the time in the night and early morning
  • Before >> I had a beautiful untarnished black finish on the back of my phone.

After >> I have ugly blotches of exposed metal where my fingers come into contact with the phone eroding away the laquer after months of mindless grinding for iso and covers.

So, uh, hi. I'm decently hardcore, uh, I think. Still have a wife, still feed both the dogs, still, uh, groom as needed. Not sure the, um, wife would let me do otherwise.

I read this as "I think I still have a wife", which seemed pretty appropriate hahahahaha

Imagine if they release this game on google glass...

Before: My XBox360 was my gateway drug to leaving life behind. I have every Puzzle Quest game (including Galactrix, I know lol) on it and I used to play them all the time. On certain Thursday nights I would hit up my local arcade and get in some offline fighting games with my friends. Not surprisingly one of my favorite games is Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (I'm a Marvel fanboy; I openly admit that and have no shame). Sunday nights I would hang out with my family, we would watch tv together.

After: My Xbox360 barely gets any play, I got Portal 2, 2 months ago, haven't even seen the opening title. MPQ however isn't as obsessive as it previously was thanks to Spidey's blue stun/ yellow heal so health packs are now only if I really need it. Before Spidey's ascension, I would literally countdown the seconds to get a health pack lol. I am however obsessed with getting more, more Iso to level up my budding 3 Star squad and every-time Marvel Now Magneto does his purple ability I imitate it in real life. Oh and I always clap my hands gleefully when I get a defensive win.

My laptop now travels everywhere with me since I upgraded to the Steam version (I do have my phone linked to the same account tho if I desperately need a win/ grind tho). Thursday fight nights are now few and rare, I'll rather chill at home, save money, earn Iso. Sunday nights I have become anti-social, working on grinding and winning instead of kissing and hugging lol.

I run a blog, concurrent with all events I am participating in so yeah I think I like this game a bit too much.
