Before & After : Your Story

BEFORE:

Hello, my name is Colin and this is my story. I was a pretty popular guy. I had many friends who enjoyed my company. We often went out and had a few beers and played some football, or as you Americans like to call it, "soccer". I had a great job and was paid well. Was able to buy the latest gadgets, go out for nice meals, buy presents for "the woman". I went to bed at a reasonable time, and woke up feeling refreshed, ready for another great day. I could see my life planned out in front of me, there was nothing i couldn't do. I was set.

AFTER:

I haven't slept in 39 hours. My eyes are fuzzy, i keep seeing critical tiles when i blink. I have had my phone stuck permanently in my hand for over 3 months. I take it everywhere with me. To poop, bathe, bed and funerals. I sit in the back of the church while people are sobbing and play a sneaky game or four. I "poop" 6 times a day just so i can have some alone time with my game. Friends? I lost them all, they don't call or come to my house anymore. They think i'm weird and a freaky man-child. Sure i talk to people here, but who are you really? Will you come to my house if i invited you? Would you be best-man at my wedding? How many of you are secretly dirty old men? I don't like dirty old men, anymore.

I don't eat real food anymore. I stock up on bread, nutella and chips. Maybe some redbull if i can afford it this week. I play in the dark as the light hurts my eyes now. I haven't shaved in 2 months. Upstairs and downstairs. THERE SHOULDN'T BE THAT MUCH HAIR. My wife has left me, took all our belongings, but do i care? No. I honestly haven't really noticed she isn't here anymore except when i realize how silent it is without her constant nagging. I can't leave the house as my phone won't pick up signal without the wifi. My dog died 1 month ago and it's still just laying there, watching me. I need help but i am way too lazy to get some. I have a problem.

It's called Marvel Puzzle Quest. I think i am addicted. If anyone can help, or if there is anybody just like me,please share your story so i know i am not alone. Thank you.

  • Is it just me, or did it get reeeaaalllly creepy in here all of a sudden?

    ....

So, uh, hi. I'm decently hardcore, uh, I think. Still have a wife, still feed both the dogs, still, uh, groom as needed. Not sure the, um, wife would let me do otherwise.

And, uh... yeah.... *sidles out the door*

  • This forum needed a bit more creepiness and i was happy to provide it. Besides,i think you will find the door is locked.

I had no life before MPQ anyway so nothing changed, nope.

Who pays for your internet and stuff?
  • i keep seeing critical tiles when i blink

I think what we all really want to know is: the new or old crit tile?

Free wifi from the neighbours. Who could also be dead.

i see them both, left eye is old critical, right eye is new.

Monday nights are my "Boy's Night". Head over to a friend's place, play Starcraft, eat pizza, drink beers and then switch to some quieter games like Magic after the kids go to bed.

    After:
Same as before, except I bowed out around 9:30 so I could be home by 10 so I could grind out the end of the Iso-8 event. Another of the Monday night crew also bowed out early since he's in my MPQ alliance.

So yeah, not much difference at all, really.

Also, last night I went 3-0 in the games of Starcraft and 0-3 in the games of Magic.

I'm addicted to MPQ. I think about it at work. I think about it at home. Good thing my wife understands and makes me food while she plays MPQ too? There's nothing wrong with enjoying something.

My schedule aside from work revolves around MPQ! I work out, eat, drink, and do other bodily functions around my Health Pack rotations! I say to you, it's quite alright!. God knows once I have kids (I'm about to be 30) I won't get to do any of this. Enjoy it while it lasts.

If your wife left you, it just means she isn't the one! If you're pulling my leg, then gtfo. icon_twisted.gif

To Riggy, I quit FNMagic for MPQ LOL! I still love EDH though. Better than standard.

Yeah, I do drafts on Friday nights instead of standard. Don't have the time to keep up with standard right now. I did pick up an Olivia Voldaeren for EDH b/c I thought it would be fun to have a general named after my daughter. It's a bad trend to have started though. My wife is pregnant with twins (both girls) and one of the names we're thinking of is Autumn. I just can't bring myself to make a mono-green deck around Autumn Willow. icon_e_sad.gif

That's worse than I had originally imagined, you definitely want to get that checked out. I hear Spidey is pretty good with a web bandage. Or Black Widow has some kind of anti-gravity voodoo that might help.

The only real difference in my life is: instead of reading from a pile of old magazines when I go #2 I play MPQ.

It COULD be worse. Just play Autumn Willow voltron pump! I have a bunch of EDH commanders, just never found the time ( or all the funds ) to build decks. I love Olivia, but she's better off just sitting in a hard sleeve on my desk. I've still tweaking my Darien, King of Kjeldor deck after 2 years.

Congrats on the twins! Name them after Female Marvel Characters!

The other day when we were talking about Patch in another thread and I was rereading the Patch storyline I came across the fact that Wolverine had a son with a cavewoman in the Savage Land named Gahck. That's right, Wolverine banged a lady whose name is the sound people make as he kills them
  • My wife calls the forums and now the alliance chat my other family.

"Spending time with your other family again?"

I mean seriously, she's on Facebook all the time! I should call that 'her other family'. Except it is her actual family, though. But still....

I found the short term solution to part of this problem. My wife used to nag " put down that damn game and come eat/ come to bed / go to work / etc." One day, I downloaded MPQ to her iPad, now we spend quality family time together... Sometimes we even remember to feed our son and get him to school! Problem solved.

Pfft, school, I think you're missing the obvious here... get the kid playing too!
