Top Rank?

I'm confused about top ranked alliance. I've seen the contributions and the score is much higher than the top players. So, how does the score? Will contribution score only add and never lose points even if you're beaten by other players ?

  • Alliance contribution score is the total of all their member point in one event (not just the top player). This amount do go up and down as member win/lose point. I just did an addition on S.H.I.E.L.D point and everything seem normal.
  • As people start events, they are put into separate brackets. For the "Hollowpoint Kiss" PvP event the players are split into brackets of 500 depending on join time. The fights that are chosen for you are from the entire pool of players - not just your bracket. This means that people in other brackets can have more points than the leader in your bracket.

The sad thing is that with the top alliance getting 500HP, it becomes a cycle.

Well someone needs to break the cycle and take #1 once, surely 500 HP will help to shield from that moment on.
  • It's hard to break the cycle because if you're someone with few HP you're probably not going to say 'okay guys let's just pool all our HP for the last 3 weeks for the slim chance we can displace SHIELD' or 'hey everyone's let's spend a lot of money for HP so we might have a slim chance to win more HPs'

On the other hand if you're already P2W you would be wondering why are all these guys fighting over something that's worth $2.50 because you get your HP from Stark Salaries.

Don't words like 'justice', 'liberation', 'overthrowing the tyranny' mean anything to you? What measly HP can compare to that?

    j/k

You spend on covers, I thought only rich & desperate could do that.
  • This is an old topic at this point. The devs are aware and either don't care or disagree that the jump from 500 for first to 100 for 2-50 is a ridiculous difference. If they want to change it they will. No one likes it if they're not in SHIELD but is it really a big deal?

I personally think it's worse that the awards for #2 = the awards for #50

I'd love to see awards tiered out similar to the pvp single-award separation either 500/400/300/200/100 or 500/250/100 etc

The rich and the desperate...sounds like daytime television. Big breasted nurse Betty McCoy is a working mother of two whose husband died from being poor disease 4 years ago and left her to take care of her two children, but are both of them his?! She falls in "I love your money" with wise older doctor Bruce Banter, wise but sometimes temperamental to the point of blind fits of rage; does he have skeletons in his closet about his ex wife, the calculating large breasted Victoria Foote? John Blitzkrieg, the equally fiery tempered movie producer is attacked one day, but not a dollar of his money is stolen...so why was he attacked? Left in a coma in the hospital that betty and Dr. Banter work, will Johnny every wake up? Will anyone find the one who inflicted this brutality? Will his big breasted sister, Susie W. Phantastic, end up with all his money at the bequest of her calculating husband, Colonel Ching Phantastic (an aspiring military man who defected from China......OR DID HE?!?!?)? When Dr. Banter takes a stand against the Monster Mammaried CEO of Moonstone Productions LTD., Ophelia Moon, on whether they should pull the plug on the comatose Johnny, his job security is put into question by the big.money rolling around the top of his hospital in the form of billion philanthropist, Stark Contrast. Is stark's interest only professional or does he have ulterior motives? When the two men butt heads, which will yield? Maybe a startling realization about Betty's first born will change everything?! And who is the man of doom lurking in the shadows pulling the strings? This week.... on the Rich and the Desperate.

Lets be honest, the people in these top alliances were already sitting on thousands of HP before the alliance rewards even came out anyway
  • I can vouch that jozier was unshielded for most of tbti.

Yea, the whole "cycle" thing is honestly irrelevant due to 1. Spending and 2. What you said. If I have ~13k hp, never spent a dime, and have 38 or so (I honestly don't remember the number anymore due to how quick we are getting new characters) slots I can only imagine how much, say, nemek has stored up at this point. That said, cycle aside, the jump from top 3 to top is a little high. I wouldn't argue to lower it though unless the devs say "well, we can either take some of the top reward away and trickle it down or keep it the same." Really, the extra 400 hp per an event means that every month, if its the same group placing every event, they basically earn the ability to purchase 1 4**** of thier liking or 2 3*** covers. Thinking of it like that, is that really .that insane a prize? I mean, they can burn shields stupidly/lazily too...that is the option as well. The "cycle" just means they don't HAVE to play smart...but that's very unvulcan-like of them if they do.

We actually have an outstanding ticket to have our alliance renamed to "P2W Posse". I mean, let's be honest. Who wants to spend time earning rewards when it's so much easier to buy them?

Actually we were going to go with S.H.I.E.L.(D) - The D is silent, but we felt that it would be infringing on Djangounbuffed's thing, so we are still stuck with the Letter D.

Back on topic, We just happen to have a great concentration of psychopaths in our Alliance.

The value of the hero points is dependent on the amount bought though. If you buy low 500 HP is 5 dollars. For those who are afraid to spend too much money on a game like this, they are likely taking that price if/when they do buy points.

It is also dependent on your value of money as an individual. The federal minimum wage is around $7. That means for some people 500 HP is almost worth an hours worth of actual working.

When the ability of the wealthy to become wealthier is consistently enhanced, it becomes discouraging for the rest of the population. In other words, this is a topic that will never die until there is a level playing field.

Not to mention plenty of servants to grind out lightning rounds while we count our money. You can imagine their disappointment today! No ISO, NO SUPPER. They can take it up with Demiurge. icon_e_wink.gif
  • I don't think someone putting a ton of money in this game would be too excited about competing for alliance #1 since 500 HP is still a very small amount of HP compared to a Stark Salary.

Like Clint said SHIELD just happen to have a higher concentration of crazy guys when it comes to PvP, though I'm not sure they managed to such an overwhelming concentration of crazies compared to any other alliance for PvP only.
