Is there a reason why progression is 67,000 this time when it was only 50,000 last time? That seems like a big jump and four clears left me only a little above 16k after the first sub (I started with the maggia). Maybe it'll all work out with four clears as I do the other two subs, but that just seems like a tall order at the moment...

I beat him with champed rulk, cho, and imhb. Basically my tanks to take enough damage while trying to match his tiles. Nearly lost imhb, but cho and rulk provided enough board shaking for me to match his tiles.

I tried this team, and nearly lost Red Hulk a few turns in. A couple of critical matches, and he took 11000 points of damage in one turn. Overall, he went from nearly 19000 health down to 1600 at the end of the match. It worked, though...lots of board shake. If you do this, change Red Hulk's abilities to 5/5/3, since his green doesn't do anything at all this match.

It's not looking good. 4 clears of first two subs + no mordo is only 27k. I need 40k on the last sub???

On the Kaecilius fight: I had Cho, SWitch and QS. Was hoping I could swap with QS, but he died nearly instantly (as did Mr. F on my first attempt). I muddled through almost without strategy, as I'm not convinced the tile conversions were any help.

Does it truly matter, difficulty wise, which door you go through, first?

The obvious consideration is whether you will clear as much on the most annoying day e.g. I did doombots and just went for green ticks on the nodes rather than grinding them all to one point each, so had picked it first since that would cost me less points in the long run.
  • 4 X Clears of each and 2 X Clears of each wave node and i'm only at about 58K with Mordo. Even a 5th clear wouldn't be enough. Well short of the progression rewards.

Just an FYI for those looking to get in and get out, judging by the 6 players tied at the top of ranks ahead of me, it looks like the final (3rd) sub gives 25088 pts for the 4clears/2 waves run. I'm playing in the Hand sub, but that shouldn't effect the points totals at this point.

so I need 40k and third sub gives 25k (with 4+2 clears).

    great.

It looks like it might have been set at 4x clears with 4x wave clears. At first glance, I would have guessed it was even higher than that, but maybe not. I got a lucky token pull to get Mordo in the second sub well before I would have hit the progression, so that and some additional clears in sub 2 should make it manageable to hit the last progression if I get 4 clears now....but we shall see.

My more serious teams against Kaecilius struggled through the first two days (Quicksilver got the job done, but it was a LOT tougher than the first run of this event and took multiple tries). For the final one, I decided to screw around and use Howard the Duck with 5* Strange (for plot reasons and to tank--mine only has one purple cover) and 5* Spider-Man (to tank and nominally reduce strike tile damage--mine has only one purple cover and one blue cover). The two 5*'s sacrificed themselves to get enough purple for Howard to go invisible and from there it was just a matter of matching his strikes. I probably got a little lucky, but there was something satisfying about having Howard take the boss down from full health solo without taking a scratch. Sadly, the game didn't have alternate end-game dialogue to reflect Howard's effortless victory.

Invisible Woman is key to my victories. Kaecilius does not have a yellow power so he will not purposely match yellow, leaving your invisibility tile safe for the most part. I paired with QS, matched black and easy win. I love invisibility.

If you have a champed Thing, respec him to have 5 in yellow in the fights against Kaecilius. That will really help protect some of the insane damage his strike tiles do. I used the big tank team of Thing, IMHB, and RHulk. Thing's protect tiles got triggered on the first turn, and it went much more smoothly from there.

Really wish we could have played K more times as I would have liked to experiment with different teams against him. Kinda got myself in a rut using cho/rulk/HB every time.

And I skipped the ending on accident. Just too use to fast fowarding through the story.

the 'big tank' solution definitely seemed the way to go this time around - I took Doom, 3*Cap & Quicksilver (for his tile manipulation) - won all 3 times on the first go, but only used QS blackflag.png once across all 3 matches, so probably could have done it without him

I thought I might have skipped it too, now I guess maybe I didn't but it didn't stick in my memory? Ah well.
