Reposting some info I gathered on the Mindless Ones from the last time this ran, didn't seem like they were reworked with the new changes:
Devastator
Brutal – passive that spawns a red strike tile at the start of the match (doesn’t respawn the next turn if destroyed or matched away.
(4ap): Eye Beam – 6 turn countdown that does AOE damage.
(3ap): Relentless Force – 3 turn countdown that strengthens random friendly special tiles each turn. If there are no friendly special tiles, it creates a red strike tile.
Brute
Immortal - passive that spawns a yellow protect tile at the start of the match (doesn’t respawn the next turn if destroyed or matched away.
(4ap): Eye Beam – 6 turn countdown that does AOE damage.
(3ap): Relentless Endurance – 3 turn countdown that strengthens random friendly special tiles each turn. If there are no friendly special tiles, it creates a yellow protect tile.
Savage
Malevolent – passive that spawns a black attack tile at the start of the match (doesn’t respawn the next turn if destroyed or matched away.)
(4ap): Eye Beam – 6 turn countdown that does AOE damage.
(3ap): Relentless Cruelty – 3 turn countdown that strengthens random friendly special tiles each turn. If there are no friendly special tiles, it creates a Black attack tile.0 -
Shout out if you completed the dreadful middle node first to make your Monday as bad as possible.0

What's everyone's opinion on the vaults? I think the 80 item one should've been better, but the smaller ones aren't too bad.0
-
I don't remember Kaecillius being this insane last time? I've wiped 4x already, and don't think I wiped at all first time.0
-
The changes are interesting for Kaeclillius. One hand, by generating his own strike tiles, its much easier to find and make a match of them. You don’t have to bring Elektra or Patch along to create strikes for him. And they do damage if he matches them too. That’s a nice perk.
On the other hand those strike tiles will eat you alive. I forgot to check the damage, but they are brutal, wiping the teams I used the last time this event was run. Go with your highest meatbags, like boosted 4* champ’s, and self healers. I beat it with Bucky/Kingpin/OML and still OML went down. I couldn’t use any but one of their powers (Bucky’s purple helps to manipulate the board a bit), however their large health pool kept me alive long enough to make the matches. Elektra’s black might help you survive, but I don’t she’d live long enough to fire it.
In the 3* range, maybe 3* Hulk? For the large health and constant cascades triggered by anger? Not sure if destroying one of K’s strike tiles causes him damage or not. QS and GSBW still might be options for board manipulation, but like Elektra, they have to survive long enough to do it.
On the plus side, it is unlimited tries until you beat it, so feel free to experiment on wild card teams.0 -
The 4* essential is a cruel joke. Fighting Dr. Doom who summons his 1k damage dealing Attack tiles every two turns with a newly released character is just insane!0

I ended up doing Kingpin and Starlord for that one, so there would always be a countdown to poke once I got 6 black (using Mordo’s Blue to help with that). But yeah, he’s always going to get off at least one Summon Demons. Even Peggy won’t slow him down that much.0 -

I thought he made them last time and people like patch were there to speed things up or am I misremembering that?DesertTortoise wrote:Shout out if you completed the dreadful middle node first to make your Monday as bad as possible.
Not started the event yet, is it the middle sub that is the nastiest one then?0 -
I beat him with champed rulk, cho, and imhb. Basically my tanks to take enough damage while trying to match his tiles. Nearly lost imhb, but cho and rulk provided enough board shaking for me to match his tiles.0

Does the Kaecilius fight have points assigned to it? Is beating him essential to reaching max progression?0

He did do it before, but it was an active power he had to build ap and then cast. Now it’s a passive every round.Crowl wrote:Not started the event yet, is it the middle sub that is the nastiest one then?
Yep, that’s the Ultron sentries hiding behind the Doombot icon.vinsensual wrote:Does the Kaecilius fight have points assigned to it? Is beating him essential to reaching max progression?
300 event pts, but this time’s there’s also a 3500 ISO reward for doing so each sub. The unlimited attempts make challenge more palatable I think. I do think the puzzle aspect feels a bit lost with this change though.
I don't think skipping it will hurt max progression. Though usually on a 3 day event, I've hit the 5 cp reward for doing the 4 clears (2 on the wave nodes) before the timers start. This time I only got to the 3* cover reward, so it may be higher than normal.0 -
I tried and succeeded yesterday with Hulk / 3Storm / X23 after 3 hard losses with my 4*...
I thought destroying strikes tiles was a good idea with Hulk's anger but it didn't work.
You have to match it...
A difficult but interesting fight.0 -

I did something similar. The classic: Hulk / 3Storm / Kamala Khan. It was as painfully slow as ever, but stayed alive long enough to clear him.0 -
Does it truly matter, difficulty wise, which door you go through, first?0

As for the Kaecilius fight - I brought Elektra, Kingpin (purely to tank), and FalCap (purely to tank, or to fire yellow). My boss was level 401 and I was able to beat him on the first try. Focus was to match strike tiles - obviously, and match purple or yellow where possible.0 -

While all the goons are scaled the same, no matter what the day or order, Ultron Sentries will always be more difficult simply because they can match tiles on their turns. Which makes them longer to deal with, and by the time you do, those Mindless Ones are ready to start firing their AOE attacks. Like Waywreth said, better to just get it over with.
That said, a champ 3* Strange makes a lot of these much easier to deal with. I love his boosted events/weeks.0 -

i take the opposite approach. i do them last. i try to score additional points in the first two subs and that way i dont need full clears to hit progression against the doombot sub and im done. not fond of this event.0 -
I am have zero luck with boss, day two he is showing as level 523, and it is impossible so far for me. And my roster is stacked - any thoughts or advise if you have beaten him at 523 would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Update - I figured it out - OML, ELk and QS, but it was rather hard.0
