120cp...worth it or no?

It's totally dependent on circumstances.
With my Roster, 3 out of every 4 pulls is going to be sold for 1000 Iso or added to a champ level (almost the same thing as selling). That means a new, useable 4* cover costs me around 80 CP. So yes, 120 CP for a guaranteed cover is definitely worth it.0 -
Yes, I should add that my previous post is advice for optimum, character neutral play.
If you really love a particular character, and will just enjoy having them champed from a collector perspective, then you should by all means spend the CP and not think twice about it.0 -
I've paid 480 command points for Jean Grey. Worth it.0

WHY DO I KEEP SEEING PEOPLE SAY THIS?!?!
Adding champion levels is what you want! That's not covers going to waste or selling them. Sure half the time you're just getting iso as if you were selling them. But the other half of the time you're getting sweet rewards! I can understand looking at the first 20-30 champion levels and thinking ho-hum, but past that the rewards are so good. How are you going to get to that point if you don't start getting champion levels in now? People equating a champion level to a "wasted" cover really don't understand the reward system in the game, and why so many people recommend hoarding cp/LTs in the first place.0 -

To pile on .... the scaling. Great gods, 4*s scale stupendously. Every cover added gets you 1 step closer to the promised land. Each cover makes the character 1 level stronger permanently, and ~1.3 levels stronger when buffed in PVP.
That's more than just iso alone.
And when a 4* champ does drop iso, it's not merely 1K like you get when selling. It's 2500iso at low champ levels, climbing to 5000, eventually 10K and finally 15K.
Yes indeed. If one could choose between a full roster of 4* champs at 350+ and a full roster of 5* champs at 450, one would be much better off with the 4*s. They have more health and do more power damage than 5*s when boosted. And there are at least 5 boosted every week. Sure they do a bit less match damage. But who cares when they are noticeably tougher and hit WAY harder with their powers.
Champs levels are very very important. So even if it seems like *just* another champ level, they are incredibly valuable in the mid-to-long term.0 -

Yes, I understand the crazy polynomial scaling curve of MPQ. I also understand there are a good number of people who earn 4*s fast enough find enjoyment in 4* champing. But, I'm not one of those people.
It takes me 6-12 months to earn the 13 covers needed to champ a 4* character (many people say the same thing). To enjoy 4* champing, I need to play the loooong game and think about where my characters will be 2-4 years down the road, after I've earned another 50 covers. I get that 4*s scale stupendously well, but 4* champ levels haven't increased my match-3 fun yet; its been more like saving for retirement. (Not to mention that the game will likely end or be completely overhauled before I get anywhere near Lvl 350.)
What's more fun: getting to play a brand new character, or adding levels onto a random assortment of old characters? I say, spend that 120 CP on the new character and live for today!0
