120cp...worth it or no?

So I am finally a 4* transitioner (i think), I have like a dozen 4*s champed, and most are good ones. But I still have many many chars that need covers and/or Iso (like a cool million wouldn't cover it lol). So my issue is I now have 2 4*s with 12 covers, and they both seem pretty beastly, Rulk and Max. Is it worth it to save up 120cp for that last cover? Even if i still have a good 10 chars that are pretty tough and still need multiple covers? And need ALL 5*s still, not one color is maxxed yet. And I am mostly PVE, so it isn't exactly raining cps either.

I've always found 120-240 CP to max a top tier 4* a perfectly acceptable expense, especially if you have covers expiring that you can use to champ. If you don't play much Versus I would say don't worry about 5*s at all honestly, because they screw up Story scaling royally. Plus a boosted Rulk or PunMax is a force to be reckoned with in both types of events. Make sure that neither of them have progression covers coming up, then go for whichever one you enjoy using more.

Depends on the situation, but for the 13th RHulk and Maxpun, I'd vote yes. Tokens have a severe problem with diminishing returns. The more you draw, the higher the chances your draw will be wasted. If you have a dozen or so of the good 4*'s done already, and most of your draws are now just ending up as single level increases, wasted, or on mediocre characters, then yeah, save up and buy outright.

Rulk is a must have, when he's boosted it's ridiculous.

PMax is a perfect partner for Phoenix and OML, I feel he's in the top 3 as far as the 4* group goes.

Maybe take a look at the next few Pvp rewards first, but they are worth it.

Rhulk and punisher? Yes, it would be a good investment. I wouldn't bother with the bottom tier to spend cp on though.

Never!! You'll win 4* covers soon enough. Maybe it's worth it for 5*s? I haven't done that yet, but I'm starting to think about doing it...

My personal rule is to keep 120CP on me just in case then spend every 20CP after that. When I have a 12 cover 4* that's good, I have the ISO for and a cover that I can't use, I try to get that last cover within the two weeks. Failing that I'll spend the 120CP and champ them then start saving CP all over again.

You'd still get a free legendary token out of it, so it's not a total loss to me.

    DON'T DO IT!

Pun is progression reward in Loki pvp that starts tomorrow. Rulk will be the reward 2 pvp's after that.

When considering spending cp on covers, ALWAYS check the preview thread and the 4* reward tracking sheet:

edit: just realized you're "mostly pve". If you have a dozen 4* champs though, you should be able to hit 900 in these pvp's with a little effort and a couple shields. I'd rather spend 225 hp than 120 cp anyday.

Seriously considering dropping 240cp to finish Carol.

Wow...next season sucks for me. Of my 4*s needing covers there's Quake (Need any colour other than blue. Useless), Star Lord (I need 2 reds. Useless), War Machine (Need any colour other than red. Useless), Winter Soldier (Need any colour other than purple. Useless), and the rest will be a champ level.

I'm so wanting to champ Quake and Star Lord, but good lord is it ever difficult to get the covers I need for them.

6/10 of the progression covers this season will be Champ levels for me, the spider Gwen cover is my 13th (finally) and agent venom / mordo are trainable covers.. Nice to have a season where only 1 cover is junk!

    Featured Characters
    4-Star: Mordo
    3-Star: Doctor Strange (Stephen Strange)
    2-Star: Thor (Marvel NOW!)

    Placement Rewards
    4-Star: Quake
    3-Star: Bullseye (Classic)
    2-Star: Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men)

With quake being placement reward for the next pve, she will be progression for the one after that. Good luck on it not being blue! My Starlord was 5/0/5 for so long. I'm finally up to 5/2/5 so I'm really looking forward that yellow so I can see what all the fuss is about.

To save a cover for a top tier 4* yes. Otherwise probably not. I haven't used it yet, but as noted above I'm gonna try and keep at least 120 around for emergencies. Also when I get that unusable cover I'll wait out most of the 2 weeks to give RNGsus a chance to step in or an event to release the cover needed. Save it for a last resource, but it's a useful tool.

It's almost certainly not worth it. Are you currently able to progress without it? If not, is that extra cover or two going to get you past a threshold (e.g. 900 or 1200 PvP) that allows you to progress faster? Usually this isn't the case. If you can already hit 900, then just wait until that reward shows up in the 900 slot and then you save yourself 6 classic pulls.

I absolutely find it to be a reasonable expense IF:

The cover is a top-tier character, or one that I would use often

    AND

I have the ISO to completely level up the character (including the champ fee)

    AND

I have covers in the queue about to expire.

If any of these conditions are not met, I wouldn't even consider spending the CP.

Quake's placement reward cover is blue, so traditionally the progression reward in the next PVP won't be blue. I don't know if it goes before Mordo's pvp or not though.

I did it for Peggy. Can't say I regret but I can't say she was much of a help so far (she doesn't see play over other regulars and boosted 4* with 21 done).

Of the new ones Captain Marvel seems like a good target as she is bonkers.

Rhulk is bonkers when boosted but PunX a bit less. My suggestion is check the cover that is arriving soon and if the color works - fight for it. If not - use cp and get the cover a champion reward.

For PunX- wait. He will not rock your world as Rhulk does.

Currently saving CP for 13th OML cover. Not sure I could spend any on a 4*, but the game plays differently at your level, so if you have that much CP saved, it could be worth it. Otherwise, I'd pop classics and hopefully get useful 4*s... trusting that RNG can only punish you for so long...

I am a little less enthusiastic about the cost than skygazing.

In general I think that buying a 13th cover for a very good 4* is worthwhile early in the 4* transition. So buying out someone like Iceman, Rulk, Peggy, Thor, cyclops, and maybe carol now, makes some sense. Those are very strong characters that can carry you to 900 in PVP on their own when boosted, and aren't useless even unboosted (especially these stunlockers). True healers are also good choices for early champs, since they can extend play sessions without chewing up healthpacks. Getting a couple of those characters early will produce a significant performance uptick.

But once a player has acquired 10 or more good 4* champs, the marginal value of adding another, even another good one, becomes significantly smaller. So TC, I don't know that spending a ton of CP on your 13th or 14th 4* champ makes much sense unless you are looking at loosing out on tons of champ levels (i.e. 8+).

Whether or not it's worth it is largely based on how much fun you are going to have with that character. Red Hulk is a lot of fun. I dropped 120cp to champ him and don't regret it one bit.

Punisher is either way. I love using him, but he isn't top5. It wouldn't be a bad deal but if I were you, I'd only do it if I had one on the vine.

120cp doesn't take long to save up (2 weeks max) and once you have as many 4* Champs as you do, the value of a LT is less than it was before. I'd say definitely do it for Red Hulk though.

Both should be coming up soon as PVP rewards. With that many champed 4* already, you should be able to hit the 900 progression. If the progression is one that you don't need, then I would say that both are worth saving the CP to get, especially if you have one set to expire in your queue.
