They obviously want to encourage people to have a wide variety of character. It's good for business not to mention it makes a more interesting game if you actually see more than the same 5 guys at the 3*. In this respect they're obviously still not doing enough to encourage variety of 3*s.

I think people who have cover issues are obsessive collectors. I am one too, and it took me a long time to get rid of Yelena to make room for someone else.

I'm pretty obsessed with having one of each character on my roster. I'm currently at 44 slots: I have one of every character and 6 level 1 1*s for tanking purposes, lol.

I appreciate the advice, but the rising tide of 3* and 4* characters makes it pretty darn hard to target a character, since all of the covers I get are from the game's choosing.

More characters means fewer times before any specific one is a tourney prize.
Thats kind of why you can buy covers. It may not be a common practice on the forums and I personally think the prices are bloated but you have that option and need a minimum of one cover for each ability. That's actually not that hard to accomplish but if you plan on obtaining covers through rewards exclusively, you're gonna have a bad time.

I spend a lot of HP on buying covers. It's well worth it for either characters whose cover are normally hard to get (Spiderman, for example, hasn't been the prize for a while) or someone who is extremely overpowered and likely to be featured.

I've never spent on covers and still have most of them (a bit of luck, a lot of LRs), my least covered heroes are what, the two legendaries and the newest characters, lazyThor, lazyCap and Torch? I don't think I can afford spending HP on covers when I don't even have the ISO to level most of them.
