Resisting the urge to level up Mr. Fantastic

If you have limited time to play, and struggle to hit the progression awards in PvE (let alone PvP).... you'll probably burn all your health packs and boosts for the quickest opportunity to get a 4 or 5 star cover that exists in the game. Value is often about context. I doubt you'd ever pay $100 for a bottle of Dasani water. But if you were in the middle of the desert and about to die of dehydration... you'd pay anything. In both cases, you're valuing it appropriately.

Oh, and I have this exact same issue -- I'm sitting on a decent pile of ISO (for me) and wondering if I should level up Mr. F for his Clash. I've got him at 3-5-3 and level 168, so I could conceivably bring him all the way to 229. For about 152k ISO. If I didn't have anyone else to level, I'd just go ahead and do it. But there's an opportunity cost. I've got a couple more 4*s that need significant leveling:

    4-2-5 Electra at 188 (about 118k to 229)
    5-1-5 Drax at 192 (about 122k to 233)
    3-4-3 FalCap at 188 (55k to 209) --
    5-1-3 Peggy at 172 (38k to 192)
    4-2-5 Carnage at 172 (147k to 229)
    3-2-5 Spider-Gwen at 152 (108k to 209)
    5-2-2 Eddie Venom at 156 (48k to 188)
    3-1-4 Winter Soldier at 135 (39k to 172)
    3-2-3 Miles at 111 (50k to 168)

There are a couple of others, but they're too poorly covered to care about.

Basically, the only compelling ones there are Electra, who's marginally useful, and Peggy, who only needs a couple day's worth of ISO. Everyone else is very "eh..." Which is why I'm inclined to level up Mr. F. At worst, he occasionally has his moments, and at best he'll be reworked into something fierce like IW and Star-lord were.

I intend to champ my Mr Fantastic, tomorrow, when I reach 900 in "Category-5".
Then I'll try to win his Crash...
If I can obtain 2 LT, I won't regret it.

Personally, I disagree. I use her every day with Switch and Patch for TBE, and dmg for a single match-3 can get over 6k. Add in her traps and ballet, and those poor suckers don't even stand a chance.

I intend on champing everyone at some point, presuming I don't get bored of the game before then. The champion rewards are excellent. Heck, I champed him, Elektra, Wasp... Do they kinda suck? Sure. But I once pulled at "random" 5 of his covers in 7 days, and I'd be pretty mad if that happened while I had the chance to champ him and didn't.

That is a good team, but I still debate going to that one when Elektra isn't boosted because you're picking her over Teen Jean if you have her, too.
  • after scrapping about 6-8 i champed him to stop the covers from coming in.

    currently still 271. mission accomplished.

looking forward to his update. i dont dislike him, hes actually good at times in certain situations, but thats not good overall.

Brigby just recently named him a hot candidate for a fix. If you have ISO and cover in the cue - I would go for it. Otherwise - just level enough to win the crash and keep waiting for the update.

Did he? Where was this, and was anyone else named? That's exciting!

In any case, I've sold at least 8 of his covers. Presently sitting on another one.

Tried with a level 168 5/3/2 and didn't get close. Leveled to 209 and bested Doom easily (added 100% match-damage boost).

So much for making this 4DDQ easier...
It looks exactly the same as far as I can tell.
Dr. Doom's level is too high, so you die from match damage alone. They should have lowered his level to around the 200 range, kinda like how Devil Dinosaur's opponent is lower level.

This setup just shows how terrible Mr. Fantastic really is. If he can't even deal with a Level 270 opponent like every other 4 Star can (within reason), then he needs serious attention.
Star-Lord was similar. He was terrible, his DDQ unfairly difficult, but now after his buff that fight isn't so impossible/luck oriented. Still one of the harder 4DDQ's for sure, but noticeably easier.
