That's true, but that still makes it a bad idea. And we're worried it will be the same for other events in the future.
  • I'm f2p and it's my policy to buy every planeswalker anyway as they become available for crystals. They're usually so much better value than a booster box or two. Even if you don't know why you'll want it yet when it becomes available, there's a good chance that the planeswalker's abilities or colors will make it useful for a given node's objective in a future event.

My policy too. PWs are a better investment than dozens of duplicate cards. I have all of them except Dovin at the moment, and I'm always happy with the flexibility I get for events.

But its not as fun to be forced into things in a game.

The fact that it's a coalition event makes it a bigger deal. You have to buy something you may or may not want or let your team down. If it were individual it wouldn't be as big of a deal -- it's not. 19 other people are counting on you.

I warned about this long ago. But you guys were too busy sharpening pitchforks to stop wrecking something what was clearly working in your favour.

Devs create a system that allow f2p players to play competitively.

Players complain about the system(high cost of purchases), labeling the obviously f2p friendly system as p2w.

Players complaining and advise would be customers not to pay for cards.

Devs decide that instead of working for free, they will move back towards the tried and tested profitable formula of more p2w formats.

Leading members of this self defeating movement surprised that this happens.

Naturally it's going to be the team's fault for not working for free to entertain you.

Guys in the top coalitions are going to be the ones most poised to come out of this unscathed. Most of you will have the crystals to do this. And you already have enough mythics from past sets that you'll probably do just fine in future events farming for crystals. It's the ones who are scrapping by who are really hurt by this one.

No. It's the individuals who can't earn 650 crystals in the short advance warning given that see this as a big deal. It's the individuals who didn't even get the advance warning to save up who will see this as a big deal. Your coalition missing out on one more free mythic is not a big deal. It's probably not even going to miss out on this mythic because like I already pointed out, top coalition members are much more likely to have access to the crystals and runes to buy/level up dovin.

I never understood why we all banded together and persuaded the devs to stop working for free. It seemed a pretty ludicrous thing to do at the time.

We're sorry, and you were right.

Dev team: Please, PLEASE start working for free again!
