Positive Experience with Drop Rates :)

I think it was my daily reward yesterday. They gave me a "Black Pack".

First card was a Mythic. Inverter of Truth
Second card was a Rare. Eliminate the Competition

Then three other **** cards.

Just saying. I keep seeing negative experiences (I've had quite a few), so I figured I'd share a lucky fluke!

    wow I've never gotten 2 rares + in the same booster pack.

    I proc'd a Knight of the White Orchid the other day, it might have been from the Origins booster earned from one of the recent events. I'm including it in my Nahiri deck for the next NoP to celebrate.

    I'm not sure what to do with Inverter... Just not that great with these Eldrazi.

    Both cards seem to damage me, so maybe I'll just drop them in my Sorin deck. At least he can heal. He can use some extra black mana and slaughtering opponents.

    Mark my words. One day soon I'll have a post about how I forgot to disable Eliminate and it cast and killed me icon_mrgreen.gif

    I've gotten 2 mythics from the same pack. I already had both of them, but still...
    I got Olivia Mobilized for War from the free booster today. Yay!

    So let me just check something here.

    When negative feedback is posted on the forums, those providing it are often attacked for their views and personally insulted, and there are no repercusions whatsoever.

    So, presumably, the opposite must apply, and I'm free to criticize this positive feedback with language just as strong?

    Please confirm this. I don't want to get into trouble or anything.

    We have all gotten lucky packs before, the problem is the baseline.

    why you so and so lol good for you makes my day to see that gem wiggle and a mythic awesome, dont get that warm fuzzy feeling often though

    I also got double-rares in the same daily reward black pack. Except they were the exact same card, and I had it already.

    Just bought an Innistrad big box hoping to get Kessig Forgemaster before it expires. Got a Geier Reach Bandit and Wolf of Devil's Breach instead. Suddenly I've forgotten all about that and the other cards I was hoping to get icon_e_smile.gif

    As I understand it, proper form in this instance is to reply to said posts with one of the following responses:
    • "This is just confirmation bias. Your actual experiences do not match with previously measured data and are thus irrelevant."
    • "WOW, those are some terrible cards you just received. Congratulations."
    • "Man, my jealously and sour-grapes prohibits me from responding to your post in a positive fashion, so I will now attempt to change the topic to something else."

    Alternatively, positive feedback can be responded to with positive responses to contrast negative responses to negative feedback.

    Like, I just received a Kytheon's Irregulars from an Origins pack I won in an event recently, so congrats JanksMcJank on your incredibly good luck to get more than one rare from a pack!

    Well that's why I'm checking with you. You guys made the rules up on leaving feedback on feedback. I'm pretty new to all this.

    Ive gotten loads of positive experience with drops, people just want everything too fast.

    Best experience lately was pulling an Olivia from the daily free red pack a few weeks ago.

    But im a 100% free2play player and im sitting on (from the top of my head) 12 mythics, and many rares.

    I also had a great day on Wednesday. Opened two 5-pack boosters (one in the morning, one in the evening) and both produced a mythic card (Metalwork Colossus and Crush of Tentacles)

    Not the free packs, but using crystals that I got for free. Bought two of the 300(?) crystal packs from the angels/spirits/vampires packs. First pack landed me Olivia and Goldnight Castigator. Second got me Rattlechains and Startled Awake.

    My first mythic, a Felidar Sovereign, was also from a free pack. Also got a Stalwart Steward around the same time too, that combo is still in use today.

    Some others as well, but those are the ones that I remember the best.

    Best pull for me was from a SOI big box. Netted me Deploy the Gatewatch, Decimator of Provinces, Seasons Past and Mindwrack Demon(meh). Also got 6 non-dupe rares from the same box. All in all, a very good card dump from 600 earned crystals. This is also about 2 weeks after I whaled up and bought Gisela. Nahiri is so happy now. icon_mrgreen.gif

    I got Emrakul from a free pack a couple days ago. Only other mythic I got from free packs was Deploy the Gatewatch so the mythic rate is really low but at least they're solid mythics.

    Even shteev admits the baseline is an average of about a mythic a box.

    Sounds quite fair to me. What's wrong with it?
