New gem board

I find the new blue background, combined with the frosty holiday-themed gems and the energy overlay incredibly hard on the eyes. I played the first training mission in story mode and had a hard time spotting matches even. Anyone else agree?

I also don't like it but worse I am getting blank spots on the board (empty gem slot but something is there just no idea what) and I can not see what a support is by tapping it anymore...

I also find it much harder to process visually. Not a fan. The gems look less round (though I think that's an illusion) and the blending of colors really makes it challenging.

Strongly agree. These colors are killing my eyes. Also, not a fan of the menus using light blue font on medium blue background.
  • I hate it. It is SO much more difficult to visually process.

So difficult to tell what I'm doing with these gems on the board.

100% agree...saw the new colors and said "NOOOO!".

D3 - I know there's this whole "Blue Theme" but this is way too hard on the eyes (esp. for us older players).

Please at least let people chose if they want the new background or not. If I could chose the backgrounds of the cards when i played solitaire on my Windows 95 computer, this should be that hard of a request to implement.

    Thanks,
    Sonic

I would love different color themes, but also the ability to turn them off.

Not a fan here either. Really hard to look at. Would love the ability to turn it off.

Agree, the board is weird, the thingy that makes the gem all sparkly (energize??) makes black look like blue.

But all in all, the entire new design is AWFUL. I noticed on google play the advertisement loader screen is all nice and red: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/iVRg9Y_qrJs4WyCFl9BBSaT2009wtxf3eDbfXOKoiVHc4-qMwLGvWUICVSfHM57hNY4=h900-rw in the app it's chandra on some blue background. Too much blue.

Though i hate everything about the new ui design, slowly the design gets flatter and flatter, and lighter, what once was a black backgrounds becomes blue, the new ribbons for example, they used to be nice drawings, now they are a white vector with no relief or anything. In web design flat was/is a trend, but that doesn't make it suitable for game design, especial not a magic game (this design is more sci/fi did you guys steal the intern from marvel puzzle quest to do the design?) magic cards https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/iVRg9 ... Y4=h900-rw are not flat, they are intricate. The old design felt sort of luxueus and elegant, the new design feels cold and distant not inviting/rewarding to spend time in at all. Maybe worse, it totally lacks any form of consistency. It's like the designer googled for "ribbon material vecor" found an image and put it in there, and repeated that for every design element. Take also the start screen the icons are taking so much emphasis by being big huge white blobs, that they feel extremely unbalanced.

For a game that encourages the user to spend lots of real life money the new design feel really very cheap and unpolished. I could understand if this was an internal alpha build, but we've already had the game in public for a year, most of the time with a much richer design.

I'm finding that energize makes gems hard to distinguish.

I can live with it but i would have prefered if i didnt have to in order to play the game.

The blue background is not popular.

I want the black background back and a semi-transparent white energy icon overlay instead of the glowy headache thing that's there now.

Energise + the new background makes my eyes hurt.

I can only imagine what pain the qb grinders will face in their upcoming challenge.

Chipping in that I'm not a fan of the new colour scheme either cause it is really really hard on the eyes. Takes me ages staring at the board to evaluate gem matches now, and my eyes ache from the riot of colours and unnecessary glitz.

It's obvious somebody that doesn't play the game heard that blue 'excites people' and made everything blue.

Keep people that don't actually use a product with their own money away from design choices.
  • I don't have a problem with the colors, which is interesting as I usually have problems (red-green color blindness). After a game or two I became accustomed to the new gems and colors. However, I admit some of the energized gems take a few seconds to recognize.
