So I want to be careful of putting a point minimum for any event because we are supposed to be casual. Conversely, IMHO, we need to be able to decisively say that a player should be dropped for not playing enough (exception for those telling us in advance because of vacation, etc). So is missing 2 events in a row, too little or based on a point average across 3 events? Thoughts? Or does it not matter because it doesn't really affect our HP rewards and we only purge those who have truly abandoned the game?0
-
we need to make room for active players. i felt disappointed a few times, because i wanted to score big in events, and it didn`t work out.
V1rus pls dont be afraid to motivate our non active members.
A score minimum of (lets say something around) 1350 point in 3 pvp events would be nice. if you want you can score 600->500->250 or 800->550->0 or 450x3. that could be called casual...?
OR we could announce focus events where its required to score 500/600 points.
ok i totally feel like a dictator, wanting everyone to work their ___ off so i can get rewards xD
excellent. i dont know. maybe thats too much drama for a game and i should have just left the topic untouched.0 -
Hey, we have our own chat thread! Awesome, had no idea. Okay, so I have two main concerns:
1) I want to be able to play and stop playing when I want. I want to schedule my playtime as it is convenient for the rest of my life, not the other way around.
2) I want to be able to progress at a reasonable rate. I'm not sure 1 3* cover per PVP (even if I do net positive on HP) is fast enough to be worth the long-term investment.
So, the way Demiurge currently has the game structured has these two things in conflict. I think it is ridiculous how hardcore the demands have become just to enable progression. In fact, they are doing a lot of things wrong which I won't go into here (just read all the complaints in the general forum, and look at the players who have left), and these have me wondering if I should be spending any more time on this game at all. (I do have almost 800 other games on Steam, after all, which I basically have not touched since I started playing this in December.)
On the other hand, I'm still having fun when I don't overdo it. I've actually pulled an inordinate number of 3* covers from tokens lately and am getting excited about having 3*s I can actually use. The current state of my 3* roster:
Punisher: level 102, 4/2/4
Patch: level 92, 4/1/4
GSBW: unleveled, 5/2/2
Hulk: level 51, 3/1/2
BP: level 66, 1/3/3
others: negligible
ISO in the bank: about 120k after maxing Pun and Patch today.
So at the moment I'm undecided. On the one hand I'd like to be able to skip a PVP now and then when I don't care about the covers and/or don't have time. On the other, when I do commit to a high placement, I would ideally like the rest of the team behind me so we can get that third (or more often second) cover to make it worth it. I expect many other players feel the same. As for PVE I've basically given up on competing, I can't be bother to spend all day grinding nodes over and over, especially since I play on Steam and not my phone. I want the 3* progression cover, a decent amount of ISO and tokens, and that's enough for me.
If they do 3 PVPs a week (that's right, isn't it? early week, mid-week, weekend?), I feel we should perhaps be allowed to skip one, especially since people are often busy on the weekend. But maybe that would keep up from ever being in the running for covers. And I tend to be busier on the weekend than during the week, whereas for other team members the reverse might be true.
Also, when considering future members, and no disrespect intended, but we might want to consider the native time zone of applicants. I expect competitive players in Europe and Asia are perhaps either more hardcore than we wish to be, or like we're seeing now, more prone to burning out early. (Who really wants to get up at 4 a.m. all the time???)
Ok, I think those are my thoughts for now. Glad for the open discussion! You guys rule.0 -
i am living in europe and i am still kicking. shielding is THE best invention.0
-
I personally think maybe 3 events, because a few days of no contact could be something in real life came up, but over a week of inactivity they probably moved on.
I didn't mean to make it sound like I was suggesting a point minimum. I was saying that even casual play would let us place in pvp events every now and then. Some progress could be made without a feeling of forced obligation. Sorry if that's not how it came across I am not a communicative person and sometimes what I say doesn't reflect the point i want to make.
Edit: Maybe we could take a vote at the start of each tournament to determine how highly we value the current reward so we can better balance how to tackle it.0 -
So to echo what a lot of other people have been saying, I'm burnt out and I'm tired of putting so much time into this game and getting fewer rewards than I think I have earned. I'm still going to play and contribute sbut if I'm not up to the level the other commanders think I should be at, I have no problem with leaving the Alliance.0
-
yea like that would happen. you are one of our top score players.
to keep our top scorers motivated we need a better ballance in our ranks. otherwise active players will leave or burn out.0 -
So I like the idea of voting for events and pushing for them. Otherwise, maybe we don't worry about it too much. Possible to limit the push to only one PvP per week? Might be tough if we don't know which events (and rewards) are coming up or if they have two good rewards back to back (e.g. Most recent Patch and Lazy Thor). Thoughts?
I like the idea of localizing but keeping players we have for now until it becomes a problem. This forum topic has been very useful because we are so limited in game chat. Will have to require new members to subscribe to this topic. Right?0 -
yes.
and you guessed it i would like to push for lazy thor (like come on, who doesn`t want that cover??).
and because lazy thor and lazy storm will be brocken together; i would push for her in the future.
We could use this forum for polls on the events and stuff...0 -

I also like the idea of voting on events, and requiring all members to subscribe to this thread. Better communication amongst us all would surely help a lot. In fact, I have to wonder just how high how many of us have to score to place top 100. It might not be that bad at all.
If it is important to the alliance I could be persuaded to push in events that I wouldn't otherwise, but if only a couple people are posting about it in chat I'm less likely to bother. For example, my lazy Thor is 1/1/1 and cover maxxing feels so far away...but if other people want me to push then I wouldn't say no to those covers. (Although I did play to 600 today just cause I had time and felt like giving Patch and Pun a trial run.)
Anyway, I really like the voting and subscribing to this thread ideas. Maybe with better communication we could get more results with less effort than other alliances.
And hiddles, no offense intended, I've always been happy to have you on the team
PS I still think that D3 is dropping the ball and that it is ridiculous that we have to go to these lengths just to have fun with the game.0 -
hiddles man, you are hardcore! hahaha0
-
yea i´m a girl dudes. thats why i always post in our chat and stuff.
on that note

Actually hiddles, the hearts didn't clue me in but the underscores were a dead giveaway0

Look at this, the forum is revived. I'm not going to lie, after talking with LiveadLetDie, and listening to Virus saying that we should specify what we push for, and to start it being a little more casual than what D3 is requiring, I like it. I actually may hang around a little more and see if anything changes with how I like the game.
I've always liked this style game, and the progress has been fun, but unfortunately for me, since I have so many characters maxed, it has lost that progress feeling. PvP is constantly against 212/141/141 teams, which honestly is fine because that is my team a lot. But, it's frustrating to take all this time to get my team really good, to just always be on the same level as everyone else.
Virus, honestly, I want you to lead this alliance though. Just because I am staying, I think I want to step down as top commander. You do a great job of communicating with everyone, and fairly expressing your ideas. It is yours to run from the top, if you don't mind me being your #2... that came out kind of... yea...
Annnnyyyywhoooo, let's get some Thors!0 -
Also, I had such a long drought on 3* cards being pulled, as soon as I say I am going to leave, the game recognizes. I got 3 3*s from tokens the last 2 days, but they were all ones that I was maxed on, so it didn't mean S***
To add to that, I'm really frustrated I haven't been able to max my Hulk appropriately. No exaggeration, I have received close to 20 Hulk Covers, yet only 3 of them have been his black, the most important. I have sold off so many Red and Green covers.0 -
Thanks, Global! I suddenly feel so responsible for this group!
I'll do my best, and I'm sure I'll have feedback and support from the group here.
I'm already looking into how we can do polling. Doesn't seem a way to see how to do polling here in a way that I can see who voted. We can't have non-alliance players voting on what we play.
I'll probably stick with Google Docs if I don't see another option, such as creating a poll within PMs.0 -

Seriously, glad you're staying!0 -
ahaha
thats how we roll!
Global its awesome that you are staying! V1rus you will do a great job
I only get maxed opponents too xD i hate the new mmr system.
I`m ecstatic about our ranking btw!!0 -
Ok, so I do have 1700 hp, and am thinking of buying my first cover ever. I can't decide who I should buy though. It is down to two characters, LThor or Hulk. Here is the status of each:
Hulk, lvl 122 5/5/3 (I want BLACK! but would 4 black be enough to build and use as defense?)
Thor, lvl 92 4/1/4 (I'm hoping to get all three on this turn and get him to 5/2/5 and buy a Yellow, he second most important color)
I have ~50k ISO. That would allow me to get Thor to 117 or Max out Hulk. This makes me lean towards Hulk, as I will need another 50k+ to Max out Thor.0 -
First, I'd make sure to have enough banked to buy another slot and put at 24 hour shield. Don't want to buy HP if you can help it.
I heard that Hulk isn't very good leveled up high because his black doesn't trigger. Think you should check the character forum first.
Personally, I'd chase the LazyThor because he's going to be tough to get covers for. I know the black covers have been aggravating to get, but it's a definite face palm when you start getting them in batches.0
