Oh No! Your MPQ party cruise ship hits an iceberg and sinks!

Oh no! It's terrible. You were hanging out with all of your favorite superheroes on your awesome MPQ party cruise liner, everyone was amazingly getting along (even Wolverine and Cyclops), and then... BOOM! The captain pilots the ship into an iceberg and the ship goes down. A little odd, since you were just passing Bermuda, but, well, comics. Due to the rigid (and probably illegal) caste system, each level is confined to specific decks. Sadly, you have time to save only *one* character from your existing roster per deck of the ship. Who gets hauled, sputtering and gasping, onto the life rafts, and who goes to sleep with the fishes? (Short version: You are reduced to five total characters in your roster, and may pick only one from each star level to keep.)
Looking at my current band of merry heroes and surly villains, I'd probably go with:
Juggernaut! He has the whole deck to himself anyway, so this wasn't a hard choice. Plus, he does look like one of those, which is always a bonus. He has no trouble with the one star DDQ mission, and happily headbutts away during Balance of Power (though not nearly as hard as in the past).
A tougher decision. I love Hawkeye, and Ares is a boss, but I think I'd have to grab Original Black Widow up by her soggy fish nets and toss her in the life raft. That awesome AP steal, strike-tile-dipping black, and goon-frustrating blue are too good to be ignored.
The decisions get tougher! I'm going to have to go with a likely not-often-picked one - Falcon! I use him everyday in the Big Enchilada, and his Inspiration & Redwing are two of my favorite powers in the game. Oddly, he is one of my absolute lowest champion leveled 3 stars - only 175, when the majority are in the 180-185 range. Sorry Iron Fist and Blade, it was a close one!
I don't have any maxed 4-stars, so *logic* would dictate that I pick my level 230 5/5/3 Hulkbuster. However, I have so much fun with my level 200 3/5/5 Nick Fury that he gets my pick. Sorry, 5/1/4 Antman, you were a close second. It's just too fun watching an enemy explode itself with Demolition.
None of my 5-stars have seen any ISO, or get much use other than trivial node burn-downs, and none has over four covers. So, 2/0/2 Old Man Logan, you win the prize by default.

Love the backstory, Puce!
Juggs, unquestionably, just for DDQ. I like my unlevelled MBW better just so I can send out Stings to my teamates, but she's painfully slow when levelled to finish DDQ off.
Modern Mags. This was a toughy. I had Mags, OBW, and Ares in the boat before Mags tossed the other two back on the sinking ship. I just don't use OBW much anymore, she doesn't tank nearly enough to make espionage useful, plus there are better options for dealing with CDs at higher star levels. Ares is great solo, but Mags combos so well with other characters, plus has great damage output, and AP generation to boot, so he was my pick.
Dr Strange. The newbie gets on the liferaft (that sorcery comes in handy in stopping all the riffraff from clambering on the boat). Strang3's passive has become the new indispensable in PvE grinding. Plus a stun, and a way of dealing with special tiles (even if it is bugged or dependent on RNG).
Peggy Carter. The 5* masquerading as a 4*. Amazing stun with fantastic damage output, plus a great spoiler passive. A close second was Iceman, but he was happy messing around with the iceberg anyway, so stayed behind on the ship.
OML. My choices were OML, Phx, or SS from my roster. It was a toss up between Phx and OML. Phx is actually a stronger 5* in terms of damage output and match speed, but given the decimation of my roster, OML is a better single choice. Plus MMag's pink clashes horribly with Phoenix's pink as well. Jean ends up in the bottom of the drink anyway, so who am I to interfere with canon?
Interestingly enough, my choices leave me with only Juggs green for green coverage, but you can't have everything!0 -
original spiderman. Stun, critical tiles that'll ruin your day and decent red attack to kick you in the face when you're stunned. Thank God he's limited to lowest tier
Ares because he swings that axe more than Paul Bunyan.
Dr Doom. Nothing is more gratifying than executing the awesomely named diabolical plot.
Red Hulk. Every time I see his peck flex pose I think of pumping iron.
Green Goblin looks like he's having a blast being batshit crazy.0 -
Well, this looks fun.
So, boats going down. Only one life boat with only five seats. Who will be saved? First I'm going to find out who the genius was that only brought one life boat and make sure to leave his stupid kitty behind. Then....
I'd save Juggy . Pretty much the same reasons as the OP. And, his big ugly mug can scare off any pirates we come across.
Original Black Widow. Aside from the double dip in match damage for her purple/black/blue, her Ap steal and heal, she looks pretty darn good in those fishnets.
This one is a little tougher. So many great options. C.Mags, Hulk, Thor, Patch, hard to choose. But, C. Mag and Thor can fly to safety, while Hulk and Patch can survive almost anything, so let them swim for it. They'll be fine. In the end though, I would save Cap. Steve Rogers has damage, stun, protect tiles, generates Ap, and over writes enemy tiles. Way too useful to leave behind.
This here is a no brainer. Peggy Carter of course.
(as if I'd choose anyone else)
Why is pretty much self evident.
This was a toss up between Goblin and Phoenix. In the end though, I'd have to go with Phoenix. Her green is what I like most. If we do come across some pirates, she can sacrifice herself to save the rest of us, then just come back to life later. That, and I have a feeling that Gobby's crazy kitty would get on my nerves real quick.
So those are the five I'd take on the life boat. And if I had to choose one of them, it would be Peggy. Hands down. The other four will just have to swim or drown.0 -
I'm going, 1* Juggernaut, 2* Hawkeye (Modern), 3* Iron Fist, 4* X-Force Wolverine, and 5* Phoenix0
-
Get in the life raft now!
1 Iron Man, good old Stark snark
2 Storm, nothing beats 4 turn stun
3 Scarlet Witch, except maybe a 5 turn stun!
4 Ghost Rider, with a maxed penance stare and lots of lovely lovely Attack Tiles
5 Old Man Logan, who else?
guys, this life raft is getting crowded..can someone scooch over and make some room? C'mon Tony surely that fancy armour has a distress beacon or at least satellite TV?0 -
he's the only 1 star on roster currently, no reason to change that
team damage a stun, ap collection
AP acceleration, one of the best 3 stars available
paired with IM40 anything is possible
True healing tank that hides both Peggy and IM40 on all colors but blue0 -
Let's bring Modern Black Widow, for pew-pew stun fun!
Maybe... Original Black Widow? Pew-pew! All your timers go up! Also, espionage is great for the double tap.
Grey Suit Black Widow! Boom-Boom! Go AR rifle!
Eh... Maybe I'll just let them all drown.
Ye-Haw! Let's go Movie Black Widow!0 -
1* bw
2* moonstone
3* psylocke
4* x-23
5* Phoenix
I mean you never know if you'll be rescued so uh let's bring some people I can hide in the corner and look at.0 -
1* Jugg
2* OBW
3* Iron Man 40
4* Iceman
5* Phoenix
And since I picked Iceman he can just freeze all the water around the ship to keep it from sinking and I just saved everyone.0 -
Juggs. Only one I've got, only one I need.
Storm. I use all my 2*s as I sell/re-roster, but she's the only one that I wince a bit to see her go.
IM40. The science is just too tight.
Woulda been Iceman a month ago, but I use Peggy too much (boosted or not) to leave behind.
Doctor 5trange has converted me. Flames of the Faltine alone makes him too fun to sink (and OML will probably be fine on his own, right? You can't kill that guy.)0 -

Was that a Declaration of Independence joke?
This is one hell of a lifeboat if Juggs fits and also doesn't sink the thing. Then again, maybe that's why we could only fit 5... He's the only 1 I roster, so pretty much he made it on the boat because he happened to be the one doing manual labor and cleaning toilets near the lifeboat storeroom.
She could fly away, but that wouldn't be very royal would it? Her AOE stun is expensive, but nasty, and her green board shake/accelerant is handy too.
It was between her and Stark, but her AP gen is (very slightly) more reliable and often makes match 5s - and her purple basically ends the game if you've made it down to one opponent. Being Elizabeth Olsen doesn't hurt her chances any either...
Thoress. One of only three champed 4 I have, if you can get her started she's 0-60 in no time flat. She mixes strong stun with crazy damage. It would have been JG if mine wasn't stuck at 5/0/2.
Ok, she's really expensive, but she hits hard. Plus, while BB and OML maaaybe deserve the rescue better, I know I'd save the chick over the grumpy old guy and the intense guy who never talks.
Well... My liferaft is a bunch of babes and the janitor. I'm really sorry for accidentally turning your disaster movie into the setup plot for a cheesy porno, but there you have it.0 -
1*, 2*, 3* and 5* Black Widow, and Peggy.
And I'll be hoping we make it to a desert island and never get saved.0 -
MBW, because 5-turn stun plus team stun! There's a reason 0/5 level 1 characters get rostered.
Ares. He's the Hulkbuster of his tier. The guy is a one-man killing machine; throw in strike tiles or a green battery, and it's unfair.
Battery Man. That yellow is just absurd, and even unboosted, the red packs quite a punch.
I might normally say Jean or Daisy, but Peggy is the one I'm skipping in PvP.
The King:
0 -
Juggernaut
Ares
IF
PunMax
OML
Alternate:
Juggs
Ares
Switch
HB
Phoenix
Juggs and Ares are no brainers as they are both the one characters able to win the DDQ nodes solo.
The difficulty comes choosing between Strang3, Switch and IF, but ended up choosing IF first as a mix of free damage AND AP generation.
His choice gave me OML as lone five over PHX, because of durability.
Leaves RHulk or JG as 4 star choices since I want an AoE and rainbow, but settled on PunMax for AoE and Strike tile boosted.
Alternate team is basically Red Death0 -
Juggs
Storm
IM40
My best covered is Devil Dino :<
OML0 -
Spidey was lurking in the shadows, getting ready to jump on board. Unfortunately he couldn't get past Jug's big head. That Crit tile did nothing because there isn't anything to match in Jug's noggin.
This was a royal rumble to the death. Each used their unique abilities, argueing that they still had value in the meta and thus a place on the ship. the risk taking, double dipping double agent changed the clocks on the ship, making everyone believe they had more time... suckers
This was more straightforward.
Witch argued she made ships move faster.
IF argued he could use her to make ships move faster.
is the ship and blasted them to smithereens... twice.
Peggy, everyone loves Peggy... everyone has Peggy, she's a cheap (insert) who get's around. doesn't fall for her charms, he laughs in her face, and everyone elses. He's the bully on the block that everybody hates and at least once a season he's sitting at the big kids table with everyone grudgingly accepting him.
Before anyone can even start the debate walks into the room, tells everyone to shush because he's trying to sleep.0 -
1 Star - None on my Roster
2 Star - Ares a demolition machine for his level (I recently sold Storm and Mags or it'd be one of them)
3 Star - IM40 - Feeds everybody else with AP and an awesome blue power
4 Star - X-23 (5/1/1, lvl 156), As far as level goes she should be 4th Choice, but I'm pretty sure Nova can make it out on his own and Laura is why I even play the game (even more interesting, she was the first 4 star I unlocked and the first I had all three powers for)
5 Star - Phoenix my first epic and my most covered (although if she went down with the ship wouldn't she just come back in two turns....)0 -
1- Juggernaut. I have no one else.
2- Bullseye among those I have currently rostered. He's just a fun guy.
3- Kamala Khan. She smells like team spirit.
4- Don't really use them, so I will go with my most covered, Devil Dinosaur.
5- I don't have any, so it's an empty seat. Let's say it's reserved for Namor, who could have saved the ship had he come.0 -
- This was difficult between him and , but in the end I think I'd like the stun and crits more than the self damage and board shake
- Packs quite a punch, plus he's the only on my roster
- that , need I say more?
- she's just really impressive overall
- I know I'm one of the few who makes this choice, but a) he's my strongest 5*; b) he self heals; c) he's Silver tinykitty Surfer!0 -
1 none. There is no Wolverine at this level
2 because everyone knows that you need a Wolverine
3 because everyone knows that you need a Wolverine
4 begrudgingly because she is a Wolverine
5 because everyone knows that you need a Wolverine.
It's important to have a Wolverine at each level, isn't it D3?0
