No, just that most players aren't anywhere in the range of sitting with a few maxed 3*s so focusing our efforts on more 4*s at the moment would result in a bunch of characters that largely go unused and functionally are trophies for the vast majority of the player base.

So why has every new character been three stars? Why not add more 1 and 2 star characters for everyone?

They did add Ares seven characters ago.

Looking at the upcoming character list, the ratio is decidedly not in favor of Golds.

    There's a list?

Uh, oh. Time to upgrade security in the MPQ Labs.

2* characters might have a place, but the game absolutely doesn't need more 1*s. If you add 1*s it only spreads the chances of new players actually getting the covers they need more thin. At the beginning of the game, collecting heroes is really the last thing on the average player's list. They want and need to max 2 or 3. Adding more 1*s only makes their lives harder.

As for 2**, they don't make as much money, net transactions, I assume. As of yet, 4**** aren't worth it and even if they were its double the cost of a 3***. It's clearly a monetary reason behind 3*** over 2**/4**** before anything else. For the same reasons thee is no reason to push out 1* characters. Nobody's goal is to have the most awesome 1* team. So who exactly plans to spend money on that? It makes sense to make low lvl stuff for basic card games, but just as much work goes into a cover in Mpq regardless of the rarity. So they are best off doing it with whatever rarity sells the best (profit margin). Atm, I would assume that is 3***.
  • About the only change needed to the 1* characters is to give venom a slight buff and Yelena (a.k.a, 'noob trap' widow) a *massive* buff, to make them useful for new players who decide to max them.
  • Its all about the money.
Stronger Daken means more difficulties to avoid damage, then more healing needed. Play less or pay more.
They are doing maximum to suck money from us.

On the other hand if you use LazyDaken with Patch, you'll almost never need health packs.
  • I can only speak for myself and these gold characters have absolutely killed my playrate.

Marvel Heroes got my money this month, MPQ is becoming a bit of an afterthought with these Gold monstrosities and rehashed tournaments.
