personal scaling factor for Simulator Basic

  • It seems like the number of games is more important than how flawless those games are, since I assume we have plenty of Spiderman users in the under level 100 category.

    Ditto.
  • Mine are 60/60/60 and 69/69/69. I have used Spidey 0 times this event and OBW...twice, I think.

Are we sure that health lost is a determining factor in scaling? I seem to recall that when questioned, IceIX said that scaling is dependent on your performance in the node, but he wasn't specific as to what performance meant (it could, for example, mean health lost, or turns taken, or abilities used, or any number of things). Later, when someone said something to the effect of "I guess I should just take a bunch of damage and heal it in the prologue", he responded with something along the lines of, the system could easily account for that, which I interpreted to mean that it could be accounted for, but maybe isn't yet.

Is there a more definitive statement that I've missed somewhere?

Anyway, I'd be curious for people to also report how many times you're beating each node, and whether you're using a healer or not. I'm suspicious that the system is much more heavily weighted towards total wins than towards performance in each win, given that beezer is riding Spider Man like a rented mule, barely played the last set of subs, and sitting pretty with regard to scaling.

    Normal. 163/163/163

    Hard 162/161/161

Yes. The Dark Avengers node is a level higher than the Avengers node.

    Sim 1 is 161/165/164 and 228/230/230

Edit - I'm pretty sure I cleared the same nodes on both the same number of times. The hard sub had character deaths and several whipes. I think I beat Patch in round 1 with a single character left standing and under 400 health.

I didn't lose a single match last round and I was pretty much max health after each fight due to either OBW or Spidey. I generally only repeat the high scoring nodes - 8, 9 and 10 - after the initial clear, and I haven't depleted any of those to the 1 point value. I've been in the top ten of my main bracket for almost the entire event and have been hitting first now and then.
  • For R1 I ran mostly Psylocke/Patch/Magneto, Psylocke tanked for Magneto and Patch never needs health packs anyway. I dropped her for Spiderman when I ran out of health pack but it didn't happen very often. I got 500 iso 8 reward on every node on normal and hard in R1, so that means I did each node at least 4 times on average (should expect to win a reward on 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th clear of the mission and they're equally likely to be 500 iso 8 and the average of that is 4).

After R1 everything went to 230 so I used Spiderman. Did a lot less missions at that point but I assume the scaling no longer matters at that point because it's not getting any higher.

    Ditto.

I'm a little further in so I have OBW but I've been having too much fun with buffed Psylocke/Doom, Ares and Wolverine to actually run her. They've got so much health at the moment anyway that I can run through every node without really needing to use a health pack.

I've been using Spider-man but I'm not grinding down missions at all :/

    Should I be grinding missions?
How many times are you guys doing the missions?

I think they were 230 but Black Panther killed nearly my entire team with 1 attack so the game took pity on me and dropped some levels to 229 - much easier!

In the last 2.5 day sub-event I probably spent about 4-5 hours playing (not all at one time) and got about half of the prizes on each node. I got more prizes in the first sub-event so I think that got my levels stuck high till end of event now.

    Hard & Easy: 138/137/137

Levels inside hard and easy sims are not scaled the same though.
  • For me they are 72 and 75. 75 is nowhere near the levels in the Hard sub though. In 2nd round I only did 1 pass and the levels I faced were 150-190. I had to skip the Wolverine node and the one after that which I didn't beat even once (level 185) which cost me the top 5 spot. In Easy sub the levels were around 100. At least 2 of the 4 tokens were great 3*.
  • For me it is
    Easy: 60
    Hard: 69

Not using either of my healers either well maybe twice. And only boosted sparcely.
  • The levels for the main bracket mission is probably a lot lower than the actual missions since you're supposed to be able to beat the mission that unlocks the bracket easily, but it still gives a baseline to try to figure out what causes scaling to go up.
  • Mine are 60/60/60 and 69/69/69. I'm a mid tier team (numerous players between 70-85) on day 70. I use OBW a lot. I also let players die ooccasionally and retreat a few times between refreshes. Not sure retreating has an impact, but I do it just in case.
  • At start of R3: 83 and 99. Was 83 and 85 2 hours before R2 ended.
  • Anyway, I'd be curious for people to also report how many times you're beating each node, and whether you're using a healer or not. I like your whole statement because clearly we don't know everything about scaling but I'll throw in some more 'data' here:

Feel free to assume everything is the same in both normal/hard brackets.

Round 1: I did each of the three high point nodes 3 or 4 times during each of 4 refreshes. On the last refresh I also did all of the other nodes 2 or 3 times each. That put me in 1/1/1 (main/normal/hard).

Note here I didn't use Spidey at all for the normal bracket. But he was there in every single fight in the hard (I know it's dumb and I don't need to but old habits are hard to break).

Round 2: Entered both subs about an hour and fifty minutes before they ended. Played the three high pointers 3 or 4 times and each other mission once. Maybe once or twice more on some specific nodes.

Abused Spidey and ended 3/2/1 in the standings (400-600 points away from 2nd/1st in the main). 75% of the time I ended up using blue with Doom to get off a second onslaught of demons anyway icon_evil.gif

    Heroic Juggs:

Round 1 I started about 15 hours left, got myself to 1st and did the same thing with my one and only refresh. I did get some nodes down to 1 on the first play, but didn't need to on the second (barely touched half of them).

Round 2 I started with 2 hours left and got up to 3 or so with minimal grinding (none down to 1, most just once each).

Used Spidey sparingly in prologue to heal Thor/IM40/Psylocke/Cap. Had a blast without him (yeah I know I'm dumb to use him so much).

    Hulk Round 3:

This event didn't gel with real life for me so I barely played (yeah it's all relative) and finished in the 2 Thor cover tier. An aberration (and no alliance stuff for motivation) in my PVE career but may have helped levels?

What was before that? I should be able to fill in the gaps.

Osborn Heroic: Didn't have 5 green in gsbw at the time so I barely played. Only got top 25 because others were struggling.

And again for reference, currently those two main nodes:

    83/84/83
    85/85/85

    Same here

Strictly running Doom/Hood/Ares and not grinding missions down.
  • 83 84 83 easy and 85 85 85 hard.. My highest level char is a 89 punisher.. Guess I'm doing good, it's just the community screwing up, my enemies are 130s average on hard and 100s on easy.. Wipe out wipe out..
though I'm always on a date with OBW the entire event whenever possible.. Those net stockings are irresistible for sure.. icon_razz.gif

After reading the hints that IceIX dropped about PVE event scaling, I've been actively avoiding using spider-man or OBW and healing and generally trying not to be too awesome!

1st round joined 15 hours before event end, 2nd round roughly 27 hours before event end - both rounds just doing 1 clear per refresh and in the final hours just hitting high value targets. I have exactly 2 lvl 141 characters which I have not touched for this event and have just been using my 5 blue 115 classic magneto, lvl 60ish ares and whoever the featured character is to progress through the nodes.

I have about 105k pts and I suspect I'm going to miss the 250k progress reward but my easy is 60/60/60 and hard is 69/69/69
  • 163/163/163 and 195/193/193

mostly avoiding spidey unless its a 230 juggs or 200+ patch. avoiding the victory lap heal unless its the final 15 min and i need to keep pushing. that being said i've got classic mags infinity mode going a lot in hard mode and if i can get 6-9 blue i dont take that much damage.

past pve i abused spidey stunlock gratuitously, faced 230s from day 2, not sure if any of that carries over to this one. this one my first 230 was seen on day 4
