On Nexus 6P it only started to happen after this latest update. I used to be able to close my phone's display and the game would keep running indefinitely. Now, if I even just answer a call, I get kicked out and lose my progress. You really need to fix this, or even better, code in a reconnect feature.

So, as an android developer... the thing is, Android apps are told that their main activity (essentially the thing running)can be killed at any time it's not in the foreground by the operating system in order to recover necessary memory.

D3 could guard against this if they persisted the state they have in some form of storage instead of keeping it in the activity itself. However, until they do that, any time the system has a chance of running low on memory and M/MTGPQ are in the background... there's a real chance this happens.

We've identified the problem and are working on a solution. I'll keep you guys posted.

As an FYI, the issue only happens on Android, and it is not due to the OS killing the app while it is in the background prematurely.

Wow, great! That would be really appreciated!
  • This issue is occurring to me on my Android 7 Nexus 6P.

I lost two event games to it. This morning at 11am I lost a game for locking my device for 10 seconds to talk to a coworker.

This is an unacceptable patch change.

Thanks! It will be nice being able to put my phone down mid game again and not panicking and lunging back to my phone to press the screen so it doesn't lock itself! icon_e_biggrin.gificon_lol.gif

    Wait, only happens on Android?

I feel another prolonged discussion about the meaning of the word 'fair' coming on.

I'm out of the top 25 because of this bug. Android users had better get better compensation than iOS users.

How about we segregate Android and iOS users to their own servers and coalitions?

I was hoping they'd buy me an iPhone, but I guess apartheid is another solution.
