    What's 'grilling'?

Like baking, but with bigger defensive teams. Loaner/champ 5*/4*, say.

I definitely prefer grilled meats to pastries.

How are 4 shields "reasonable? That's at minimum 450 HP, but more likely to be 600. That's not sustainable unless you purchase HP regularly. Not to mention that if you were attacked /once/ during a hop, that likely set you back to a fifth shield.

Because you save up and don't do it every event. Target the 12 or so 4* characters that you want and only do it during their events. That's about 1/3.

You get HP from progression/placement in PVP (so it partly self-pays), from PVE, from champ rewards... There's lots of sources.

People just spend HP in dumb ways. You either choose to expand your progress upward (higher levels, higher * tiers) or outward (more slots for more characters). It's hard to do both. If you stop buying roster spots for lame characters like Squirrel Girl and Colossus, you'll have the HP to get 4* covers.

And don't argue that you need roster slots to carry every character for essentials. That's the kind of thinking that slows people's progress. You only need essentials to make top 100. And focusing on top 100 in PVE hurts your upward progress. New characters don't help upward progress. PVE only minimally helps upward progress, and actually probably hampers it if you make roster decisions specifically geared toward it. The fastest way to make upward progress has always been PVP anyway.

    You need to do both.
Covers come from PVP, but the ISO to level them comes from PVE.

Unless you spend an ungodly amount of time farming in PVP, it's at best ISO neutral.
