Wow as much as I play this game and I never knew this... I feel like a total scrub lol

Here's some info on the goon ap generation. I couldn't find a thread that lists each goon type and their ap but it covers the general idea.

I'm not sure what device you play on but on the iPhone/iPad a little popup comes up that shows how much ap the AI brought in and you'll notice the count of ap is more than just the ap that was matched. Although it's a good idea to slide over and check the enemy ap, especially if they're getting close to using an ability.

The whole Tips and Guides forum has some good info on how this game works icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah, I realized after a while they have to be getting AP out of somewhere if they're not matching things.

I got through the Patch mission using boosts using Psylocke/Ares/OBW. (at 110ish)
Patch casting Beserker Rage once is pretty much inevitable.

I didn't try yet but the usual counter to patch is to dump greens on the field right after berserk. Thor yellow, hulk anger, oasis, think others. That eliminate most of green strikes and leave you with the purples. Alternatively induce cascades right after berserk with cheap tile demo and watch patch commit suicide.

You just stun him right after he blows green and it's just like if you had done it yourself for no ap cost. I do this then counter with patch red and they are dead.

My usual counter to patch is to have attack tiles on the field. He can eat his strike tiles twice over. Thrice if I can fit OBW into my team.

Goons feed ap to them. Beware the patch one, spidey one and thor one.
    They are nasty.
I usually save the Thor one until the last game of the night when all my chars are in need of first aid (except CStorm).

I line up MNMags and CStorm on either side of Doom and +3 blue/purple. Either two things happen:

I am able to feed CStorm enough blue to stun Thor (which by the end of 4 turns I've matched enough extra blues or purples to get more blues) and keep him stun locked = win and repeat...

    or...

Thor throws down his magical hammer in which case everyone goes down except CStorm upon which she rages x3 and game over.

    I need a Spidey.

If you are struggling with the Thor + goons node just use C.Storm. Make sure she's in the back when Call the Storm hits and her Raging Tempest will down the enemy team. Super fun to watch. Admittedly it was a close call as my entire team was down to 200 health each.
Man, remember that....2nd? PvE event where the key to that one set of repeatable was throwing the provided hawkeye up using environmental tiles to be mauled for c.storm's red battery?

Fun times. I was happy about the AI getting a nice cascade back then, so the match was over in 1 round instead of 3 icon_lol.gif
