Out of interest, anyone seeing a lot of these players? These are players I'm seeing all the time today. Not the only ones, but these are the one's whose names I recognise.

    BaDJer, Certified, Quebecers, Marruk, GASTAK

Quebecers feels like an old friend of mine, I played every single game against him in one event. If you're out there Quebecers, hello!

I had BadDJer and two Quebecers in my nodes last refresh.

I have been facing BaDJer and Marruk a ton as well....

200 points, 40-0 in platinum and I have no chance for a mythic hehe. I miss RC!!!

Are they like the MtGPQ versions of the MPQ players kicksthatkick and whatnot?

Having never played MPQ I am unaware of these players of which you speak...?

My very first match was aginst shteev. I came away unscathed in Kiora v Kiora. The next match I was curbstomped by shipwreck's Koth v my Garruk. Things were looking grim. Since that time, I have been matched up against all of those same names constantly during this event. BaDjer, certified, marruk...

I have seen a handful of totally vanilla decks too in platimun. Very strange.

Seed matches, CPU players that have weak characters that get thrown in to the game so that you have someone to PvP against even when no one else has joined the event.

We've definitely had the situation in MTGPQ before where people have moved up to a High Tier on their own and been without any opponents to play, but this shouldn't be necessary when I'm in a bracket with 700 players, many of whom I know by name!

I've been wondering for a while about event matchmaking. I assumed up till a few days ago that the decks you face in events are the ones assigned to the nodes, not a random selection like QB. However, in this last nodes event, I played two mono red decks from the same player, his Chandra and his Koth. Shouldn't that have been impossible? I thought so, even thought maybe the gamertags were similar enough to appear identical if I wasn't paying attention. Well, I started paying attention after that, and sure enough, it happened again. Same player, Chandra, koth. Has anybody seen that before?

It was discovered some time ago that ANY PW that's eligible for a node, regardless if the player actually assigned it to a node or not, will be potential opponents. The biggest mystery is why are we only facing the same small handful of players (not necessarily PW variety) over and over when there are pools of hundreds at a time?

Ah. I see. Makes sense I guess. Kind of like an upgraded QB matchmaking. As far as the limited pool, I face kalmarek three out of four times every cycle during nodes and terrors. Im pretty sure their RNG is to blame yet again. Like getting two of the same uncommon in one booster or an opening hand with three of the same card. This game doesn't really handle "random" well at all.

I faced the same opponent in 38 of 65 matches in the last NoP event. It was different decks, but the same opponent. Only 6 other opponents in the rest of the matches.

What really ticks me off is that said opponent is in my coalition. If coalitions are supposed to be working together to get points -- we shouldn't be playing each other.

In the case of my coalition, it isn't a problem because I know his decks and can adjust -- but for other coalitions-- they're losing points because of each other.

    It's getting annoying.
