I've had some success with Daken/X-23/Mr F on his required node. All true healing, X-23's Tracking Prey gets cheap with the strike tiles from Daken, and this Bullseye doesn't overwrite them with shields! Sometimes you get lucky, and Bullseye will eliminate one of the Muscle tiles for you. I've gotten through three tries successfully, and I go into other nodes in the event to heal them up. Mr F made it through round 3 with no damage at the end of the round, surprisingly. X-23 and Daken were below 2K health, but they were alive!

Drawback is that there's no real outlet for the yellow or red that you get, but Hood steals a whole lot of those by the time you've killed him off anyway.

Mr F works pretty well with Mohawk Storm. Put out her black and he will heal every turn for quite a while as long as there is an active enemy.

For everyone who hates the Muscle/Juggernaut mode, I concur. However, Elektra *really* shines against that combination. I used Invisible Woman/Elektra/Hood (one of the few times I *can* use him, so why not?) in that fight. Made to through all 4 rounds, only losing IW on Round 4. Elektra steals and improves the Muscle tiles, and her Shadow Step changes Headbutt to "Sacrifice a black tile - Do lots of damage to Juggernaut." IW can keep those countdown tiles from going off, or at least really lower the damage with her yellow. If everything is concentrated in a couple of 3x3 grids, use Twin Pistols. bearing in mind that it opens Hood up for the next attack.

Good advice, but of course you have to have a usable Elektra and others for that.

It's really telling when sub 2 feels like a cakewalk compared to sub 1 just because there are no Muscles around. Merciless Crush? That stung a bit. Oh, you're going to Detonate? Ha, that's so cute! ISO freaks have fair abilities even if they cost a health pack here and there. And you can strategize by timing your powers and matches to get around Detonate. Muscles, no. It's either match the countdowns away or happen to have a power lined up to deal with the tiles. If not, well, bye. Not at all fun.
  • Sub 2
    Roll The Dice (200) greentile.pngyellowtile.png
Thug, Deadpool (It's me, Deadpool!), Thug

    Sub 3
    Entering: Latveria (200) greentile.pngyellowtile.png
    Brawler, Defender, Brawler

Will "Roll the dice" in Sub 2 disappear when sub 2 ends and be replaced by "Entering Latveria"? or will it be repeatable throughout the rest of the event?

Yea, quite painful event, i wouldn't mind to tone down difficulty a bit with exchanging star.pngstar.pngstar.pngstar.png char for some gold(need that space badly). Anyway, can someone tell me how much you need to score in this event subs to get progression ? I gave it some thought after i relaxed a bit after those Jugg+Muscle/Hood+Bullseye+Muscle fights and decided that those command points would be a waste to miss...
    • Starting in this event, we would like to better define the score to achieve progression rewards.

o The 3-Star Progression reward will take approximately two clears of each mission.
o The top Progression reward will take approximately four clears of each mission.
o We will be attempting something similar for S.H.I.E.L.D. Clearance Levels."

Who actually pairs well with Mr Fantastic?

Xpool & XFW work pretty good. The AI matching Xpool's Countdown tiles will trigger Mr F's heal. And his only useful skill (blue) is the only color Xpool/XFW are missing. 3 characters that can heal is always useful.

Agreed...but that's true of pretty much any "Use Character X and Y." advice in these forums. "I used my LVL 450 OML, and this node was a breeze!" Well...yeah. Most nodes should be pretty easy with that guy. For those of us stuck with a no-yellow-cover OML (or none at all!) that advice isn't quite as helpful. Having a usable Elektra really helps with Muscle Nodes. Jean Grey is also nice for getting rid of a lot of their special tiles, but (again, as with every other piece of advice found in these boards) you need her at a usable level to do that.

For folks with mainly 3-star rosters, She Hulk and Loki should be your go-to guys. Board shake for both of them, plus they can steal or convert to protect tiles. In a pure Maggia node (non-Don variety), She-Hulk's green at LVL 5 will completely drain them of yellow and blue. Before my Elektra and Jean Grey were usable, I used She Hulk at (4/5/4), 3-star Iron Man (3/5/5), and Kamala Khan (5/5/3, for extra green for She Hulk).

Yeah, other than a couple of crazy Mystique Infiltration cascades, sub 2 was much easier than sub 1.

It remains open for the rest of the event.
At least that's how it has worked on every run so far...

Sigh, the game thinks I'm a much bigger bad-**** than I really am. Five clears with most nodes (not the Hood/Bulleye/Muscle one though *shudders* ) and only missing MF and I barely got 160th. No new LC for me most likely.

It's looking like I'll miss out on the new Luke Cage as well in all likelihood, but this will still probably be my best finish in the new format by a huge margin, in spite of playing much less than some previous events and not having all the required guys. All hail random bracketing, I guess...

Sure. They will somehow make it so 3* Cage is the progression 4* reward. icon_lol.gif

Heroic Juggernaut? I'm not sure that qualifies as "better." icon_e_sad.gif

Heroic Juggernaut is a LOT less worse than it used to be. The only time you fight Juggs is in those pre-sub nodes and you do these once only.

And from the boosted list, shouldnt be too hard with those characters.

I was going to skip this event but then last night with 1 1/2 hours to go in the event I joined and played all the way to the finish. Timing was perfect because I must have ended up in a pretty empty group. Finished in 19th and got two covers for Power Man. Maybe I should try this more often and hope I get lucky like this on the events.
