All these events are pooled sets of 3k players. Once one pool is full the next starts. If you leave it 5-6 hours after start you won't be in a pool with the keenest, and can reach higher spots for fewer ribbons. It's a bit of a gamble, sure. But QB has always been like this too.

    In my pool #1 is 70, as of now. #2 65, #10, 62 That's an 8 point spread already.

What tier are you playing in?

I agree with this suggestion. I will make a stab at refining it though.

Let's suppose that currently, the events last 48 hours with 4 hour refill timers. That means that everyone gets (starting lives) + (48 / 4) - 1 == 16 lives per planeswalker, if they play continuously ( -1 because you can't actually finish a game in 0 seconds to get that last refill).

So lets keep the 16 total lives per planeswalker for the event. But now, make the event last another 8-16 hours. They can still start with the same number of starting lives, but once someone uses the 16th life on a planeswalker, they don't get anymore, no matter how long they wait.

Alternatively, the devs could rotate the starting times of the events. Sure, it's nice that QB and the events don't have the exact same start and end times, but you could easily do better by shifting the start and end times a few hours each time. With a rotating timer approach, many events won't be optimal for you, but at least some of them will be. The unfairness can be spread around. I would prefer the life cap approach though.

I like the rotating time one. Implement that for qb too!
