An initial 4 clears, a clear at 24 hours, then 2 more clears near the end should get progression.

After 4 clears of sub 2, and 1 day 9 hours to go, I'm on 34618, and a couple in my slice / bracket have already hit 36k. My 24 hour clear should take me over 36k.

I like the 48 hour subs, that's one day where I have to clear only once instead of 6 or 7 times in a row.

Part of the problem with the change (and there are many) is that it wasn't communicated. Normally a full 4 clears in each sub would get full progression. But if you did that on the first sub, you are screwed. Just for doing what you normally would do.

So now I'm reading you have to do a full 5 or possibly 6 clears. That means you have to be much more rigorous in your timing. You have to finish that first 4 clears asap and stay on a tight schedule. 4 clears is already a very significant time investment, D3.

Except that you're forgetting that these are 2 day subs. 4 clears the first day, and 2 clears the second still gets you max progression. Which would average out to 3 clears per day. In most of the other events that have a 2 day sub, you do either have to do more than 4 clears on the 2 day sub, or make things up in one of the one day subs.
  • That Doc Oc and Carnage node is the worst thing ever.

The trick to fighting Carnage is to bring a stunner and target him first.

I used Switch and Squirrel Girl to go with Venom on that node. I actually let Carnage do his thing (or wait for them to use their CMags Coercive Field team-up) and then just nuke everybody with Nuts from Above. First Carnage, then Doc Oc, then Ultron.

This has the advantage of getting an use out of Squirrel Girl, which doesn't happen every day.
  • I was able to beat it with a combo of Storm and 3* Magneto. I ended up with just Venom left and he had 105 health.
  • And barely eeked out the 15 CP reward for 36k points.

Well, I gotta say: I really enjoyed the CL7 changes to progression in this. I managed the Venom cover with just a little bit of grinding, which I'm fine with, and, obviously, grabbed the two Punisher covers and 10CP along the way. As a firm 3*-4* transitioner, actually having some control over my progression in the game again which doesn't require a massive time commitment is just awesome.

As my first time playing the new'ish PVE system, though, it's blatantly apparent that placement is now well and truly the arena of people with loads of free time. You need to grind, grind quickly, and grind often.

But meh...the progression makes me happy. That'll do, pig. That'll do.
