Next event: bonus ribbon based on collection

I don't really think you should be complaining if you're in the lucky group of people who managed to open 3 boxes already.
So you don't get to be top dog anymore because you don't have the cards? Boo hoo. Tons of people didn't manage to be competitive either in the last event, many probably being crushed by your decks.
If you're unwilling to adapt or try new stuff, why should you always get to top the rankings? I'm currently in top 5 of platinum, and I'm making do with mostly uncommon and commons from SOI. I've had to change more than half the cards in my deck to manage synergy.
You enter the event with a massive advantage and you're complaining. Wow.0 -

Are you the one who can say if I should or shouldn't?
I do not like it.
It's not fun.
It's not "fair".
It's not that much challenging.
Even if I would have got the right cards, it would still be not fun.
Being forced to use specific cards that are also scattered among colors.
That would basically force to use the only couple for each mechanic that are decent.
In the end probably I will get to the 6-25 position, thats good for me as result overall. Getting no prize is not the problem, I know that till now I was lucky to get no loss from bugs(first one happened yesterday).
Would have liked to get to this result losing to good decks rather than losing to weak decks cause I have to use these cards.0 -

The decks are weak because they are working with the same limitation. You're like the guy no one wants to play with because he insists on using power 9 when everyone else is playing limited.
If your reaction to losing is to complain that it's not fair or fun, then I'm really not that surprised to learn you don't think it's challenging either.
How do you think the people ahead of you got there? They experimented and rose to the challenge. You can do the same, but apparently that's not as fun as using your existing decks to continue crushing new players.0 -
I do think people getting higher(and by that even me getting higher than people behind me) is largely based on luck.
Luck in drawing the cards for objective(even with draw engine).
Luck in not getting crushed by opponent while you do not play stuff cause it will kill opponent too fast.
Luck in not getting comboed full hand at turn 4-5 when you have little to no time to react(yes you can keep charged stuff... But not much cause of hand limit, you need to keep space open to draw the objective stuff)
Luck in not losing straight away cause of overall bad luck/opponent too lucky(that's normal in card game... It's still there so worth mentioning)
Luck in getting no crashes(I am lucky enough in that so far).
What matters the most is that is not fun.
It is not a matter of winning or losing, but how you win or lose.
So in the end it is either:
- I do not care of objectives. I have no chance of getting the prizes I feel I "should earn"
- I do play a well balanced deck for objectives. I get prizes but it is totally boring an much more luck based.
I tried first way thinking I could get at least 25th.
Looks like it was not the case.
So now I am playing objectives.
Fight last forever cause I have to hold from playing(sometimes even killing my own creatures) to meet the conditions.
It feels like the fights in story against underpowered decks needing you to take like 60 damage...
You sit there doing nothing.
Definitely boring.0 -

This is the same as being unlucky in not drawing your favourite OP Mythic card to crush the opponent with. Why are you whining about it only now?

I'm not sure which objective you're aiming for that leads to this situation but maybe you can build a deck that helps you access your objective cards better? This isn't QB, speed isn't everything.

Once again, not a new situation. Why are you whining about it only now?

Yup, this is something they need to fix asap.

I managed to build decks that didn't involve me having to wait for the objectives to be hit. They were achieved in the process of trying to win the match. Maybe you can say I'm lucky and opened the right cards from SoI for the objectives. My event decks are definitely weaker in raw power than my QB decks but they score more ribbons in the events and that's all that matters.
I do think that not declaring the objectives beforehand and especially making them essentially require SoI cards when the set was only released for a day is in bad taste. Yes, then you do have the problem of bad luck in not drawing useful cards to help achieve the objectives.0 -
span_argoman wrote:I mostly commented to your points above in italics. If you want to take this PVP event and treat it like another version of QB, of course you'll be disappointed. It's not meant to be and you have to adapt to the rules of the event. That's the whole point of the events, if not QB is still there waiting for you to grind.

Right now is either you got lucky with the right cards to make a deck that works based on the mechanics needed, or you take a previous deck, put in the very few you got and hope to win and meet the objective goals.
I had to go second way and, while the effectiveness is still valid and if I would have gone for it from beginning I would be in top 5 already, it is boring as hell to play.
Previous event was much better and thrilling.
It already required a different approach from QB, you had to avoid loss.
Btw I do not play QB since NoP release.
I won many QBs but the grind was killing me.
NoP was great and I hoped this to be as thrilling, challenging and fun.
It is not right now for me and probably for many others.0 -

but lose out on the bonus ribbons as I don't have Garruk or the new cards, except for the last white match, which I added an adhoc spirit card. 78/120
but without a dedicated setup, I almost lost the last white match waiting to get the 2nd spirit out.
I lost a match because my one madness card in blue is the bugged out Nagging Thoughts. Used it twice to grab a horror creature and both times it grabbed the creature and then promptly discarded it. I was going to win handily against a Kiora with a much better deck, when she suddenly chained a cascade when I didn't have enough traps on the board and she wiped me out.
Lost the five ribbons in an attempt to slow my win down to claim the bonus. Damn.0 -

I lost a game to that bug too. Looks like it only bugs out on creatures.0
