I'm expecting the timer just means that the bonus OGW cards will disappear after the timer is over and it becomes 1x/4x/14x like both Origins and SoI. The developers mentioned before that the bonus OGW cards would be a limited time offer.
    This could be the case....

    That could be the case....

    *looks over prior patch notes*

    WAIT A SECOND...

Just remembered that the Battle of Zendikar fat packs and big boxes have an extra Oath of the Gatewatch card/booster pack when that expansion came out...

Is the entire BoZ set being retired, or is it just the Oath of the Gatewatch cards being removed from the BoZ cards?

An official explanation would be nice to clear this up!

Edit: dang ninjas beat me to it...

Well for me the BFZ pack offers are already at 1/4/14 since the last update and the timer is still running, so ...

But not sure if "set rotating out" means "not playable" or maybe just "not buyable". Both would suck by the way.

I thought the same. Then noticed the bonus pack is already missing. Guess what? No mention about that either.

Yeah you're right. Guess we have to wait for the developers to announce their intentions.

I think they purposely left out all these unfavorable changes in the patch notes because it's probably an easier pill to swallow when it's mixed in with a bunch of new cards.

I see that purchases for Battle for Zendikar say 13 days left. Does this mean that we will not be able to buy these and no more random cards of this set from free boosters? Not fair for people who haven't had the opportunity to get many of the cards...

Yes, the BFZ cards will go away (from the Vault) for a period of time when the timer ends. These cards will return at a future date.

    Rotating planeswalkers, rotating blocks. ****?
I mean seriously. Aside that we had no warning and no mention in the patch notes, what's the reasoning behind that decision? What doea anyone gain from planeswalkers and card blocks on rotation?

Well, new players to the game can have the fun of their entire offensive team being wiped out by Crush of Tentacles.

'Where can we get those?', they will ask.

'Oh you can't', we will reply. 'You can only be destroyed by them'.

In fact, some newbies on facebook were asking me earlier where they get some powerful cards from. I'd better go and tell them they can't have them.

This makes no sense. If you rotate it out of the vault, you should really rotate it out of the game too.

My gf has just started playing this game for 2 weeks and its annoying having to tell her she can't get the same things i have because of these unannounced rotations and disappearances.

If this was announced, i would have told her to spend the crystals we bought on big box and fat pack from bfz insteaf of origins and SoI...

    Poor rationale, poor communication!!

I just noticed that it takes 150 ribbons to complete the new pvp even vs 25 in previous events.
is it 1 ribbon per win?

I collected every bonus card through the events so far. If I need to "win" 150 games using only 3 planeswalkers with that cooldown garbage, I guess these will be the first event cards I don't get.

I think it might be a coalition total, perhaps shrug. I don't know what to think of rotating blocks, they do it in paper so I supposevthats fair. I heard some one say that BFZ cards shouldn't be playable at all if you can't buy them. But I know if they did that people would gripe all the more, I suppose I have no problem with block rotation because it happens in paper. now I most definitely agree warning would have been really nice this time around especially about PW leaving the vault. I am very grateful I don't pay for this game otherwise I'd be a bit miffed about the lack of communication. I like coalitions though I hope they can come up with some sort of 2 headed giant.

For me, while the BfZ booster packs being pulled out of the shop can be troublesome/worrisome, if they at least still allow us to get the cards from the 8-hour daily basic booster, I guess in some ways I can live with that.

What I am far, FAR more worried/pissed off about is that they took out Sarkhan and Ajani from the Vault before I got to buy them (saving up my crystals, you see). I mean, what the hell? No news, no announcement whatsoever, and two planeswalkers I might have wanted to try out are gone forever. What the hell?

This is in addition to the fact that OGW Nissa and OGW Chandra somehow have never shown up in the Vault, unlike the BfZ planeswalkers (and Kiora is so expensive)

150/6=25 so it is probably a way to stop players from entering with a low level planeswalker and abusing that, say by playing a bunch of 6-7 mana uncommons with 4-5 power vs. Low level opponents with low health.

    I've written up a post about this - https://d3go.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=49108#p554776.

We've noted the feedback and it has been forwarded to the appropriate people. Thanks!

I hope there are going to be times where they bring the set back into the vault afterwards... 'cause I'm still missing several key cards from that set (namely Nissa's Renewal which I've been wanting since BoZ dropped!)...

Forget the overpowered mythics, I'm still trying to get Grip of Desolation.
Same here, only with Sphinx's Tutelage. ARGH!
