[*]New card set: Shadows over Innistrad
[*]New mechanics: Delirium, Madness, Investigate and Transform!
[*]New Planeswalker!
[*]Coalitions Sign Up
[*]New PvP Event: Terrors in the Shadows
[*]New Match Rule: Enraged Match
[*]Balance changes

New Card Set – Shadows Over Innistrad
This update adds a brand new card set: Shadows over Innistrad! Explore Innistrad and its mysteries. More than 180 new cards are being added to the game. 10 cards will be available through Special Offers and Event Rewards exclusively for a limited time.

New Mechanics
This new card set brings a whole new set of mechanics to enhance your game and defeat your enemies!

Delirium: When a card has the Delirium keyword, it will trigger its ability when 5 or less gems of the card’s color are on the board at the moment the ability triggers.

Discard: We have unified the Discard keyword so that it is clear and used everywhere. Whenever a card has “Discard 1”, for example, the target of the ability will Discard the last card in their hand.

Madness: This ability gives mana to cards with the Madness ability whenever another card is Discarded from the players hand - the exact amount is listed as the number next to the keyword (Madness 3 gives 3 mana to the card). Cards with Madness cannot be Discarded through spells and effects, but it is possible to gather mana for multiple Madness cards with a single Discarded card.

Investigate: This new keyword creates a Support gem with a 2-turn countdown whenever it triggers. The Support gem draws a card when it is Destroyed (whether it is matched or it’s countdown expires).

Transform: Transform is one of the cooler mechanics of the set! Some cards may Transform under special condition (listed on the card) - some of the more noteworthy are the multiple Werewolves present in the set. When a card Transforms, it typically gains better stats and abilities, and each card has a different way of Transforming (Werewolves are always similar, but other cards that can Transform do so under very specific circumstances).

New Planeswalker!
This update brings Nahiri, the Harbinger to Magic: the Gathering - Puzzle Quest! Nahiri is a Red and White Planeswalker, but don’t be fooled - her abilities are very different than what Ajani has to offer.

Stoneforge: Give your creatures +1/+1 (up to +4/+4 at rank 4)

Lithomancy: Discard 1 card, Draw 1 card, Destroy 1 White Gem (Discard 1, Draw 2 and Destroy 3 White Gems at rank 4)

Harbinger: Give a creature you control Haste and Trample until the end of your turn. That creature is also reinforced once (up to 4 times at rank 4) until the end of your turn.

More Planeswalkers are also coming, so stay tuned!

Coalitions Sign Up
This update also brings forward Coalitions. As of now, you can Create your Coalition, Join a Coalition and Manage your Coalition. This will give you time to prepare for when we enable the full functionality of Coalitions, which will drop when the next major update arrives! We have big plans for the Coalitions feature and it will be a major focus for the next few updates as we add more ways to team up with your friends, overcome bigger challenges, and earn more rewards.

Event: Terrors in the Shadows
Terrors in the Shadows is a new Player vs Player Event in Magic: The Gathering - Puzzle Quest introducing the new Enraged match rule. Battle decks made by other players in Enraged matches to win exclusive rewards!

New Match Rule: Enraged Match!
In keeping with the madness overtaking Innistrad, this match rule doubles all damage on Planeswalkers after 5 turns! This is one that we’re really excited to see out there as it will add a new wrinkle to play and speed things up significantly once the battle becomes Enraged.

Card balance changes
Undergrowth Champion: No longer immune to Destroy effects

Bug Fixes
– Multiple bug fixes for Cards & Planeswalkers abilities.
– Multiple bug fixes & Improvements of Quick Battles.
– Multiple bug fixes for Progression (rewards in Story Mode & Quick Battle).
– Multiple bug fixes & Improvements for connectivity and error messages handling.

Additional Bug Fixes are also being addressed but are not listed here in the notes.

Madness description is not that clear.
From what I understand madness works while the card is in hand and you discard other cards, or opponent discard cards? Or both?
Also if I understood correctly, why cards with madness cannot be discarded?

UC nerf was indeed needed(and I would consider bringing the cost to the former value now)

New planeswalker is good but would have liked a new color combination.
Without proper details on ability cost cannot comment his power level/usefulness.

Overall Nice but more than anything.... Release date? XD

Hello patch notes... we meet again... icon_e_smile.gif

First thing's first: WHEN IS THIS GOING TO DROP? That would be a really nice thing to know to plan around...

New expansions are always welcome - new mechanics should make things really interesting in the days after the update drops! New Planeswalker really should have been a dual-color planeswalker not available yet IMHO.

Also, Coalitions sounds like it's going to be rather hype if done properly!

Regarding these "enraged matches..." sounds like defender/reach creatures are going to have some massive value in the new meta!

Only thing I really don't like about these notes is in regards to UC being no longer immune to destroy effects - what's the point to playing Undergrowth Champion anymore if it's just a 4/4 defender with a bloated mana cost now?

UC will still be equally "immortal" to non kill spells.
What changes is that, for istance, a single scour from existence will directly kill it.
As I pointed on my post, they should consider lowering back the cost.
It will still be a good defensive card, but not a totally invincible wall.

I knew they would nerf it before I get it icon_e_sad.gif

I was extremely excited until I read about the UC nerf. Bye bye UC into double Reclaim into an early Kozilek combo.

On a side note, are moderators going to add a subforum section similar to MPQs Alliance forums for the new Coalitions?

    praise be the UC nerf!

i dont know why they didnt make Sorin the first released planeswalker of the set considering hes the first PW we see in shadows of Innistrad.
plus he is a new color combo.

    excited for coalitions.

other than that i am happy with the dedication fo the Dev team to pushing out consistant updates.
    GOOD WORK DEV TEAM!

That seems...broken, and a very complicated interaction to code into the game. Certain creatures have very powerful "enter the battlefield" affects, Drowner of Hope comes to mind, will have to wait and see I guess.

    Reinforcing doesn't trigger ETB effects.

    No, it doesn't XD

reinforce does trigger ETB effects only if the reinforce is due to playing the card again.
Reinforce got through other ways(Evo leap, mirropool) do not trigger ETB effects.
I am 99% sure of it.

    Hey Morphis,

Yes, Madness takes effect while the card is in your hand. It's a way to add Mana to that card or all cards with Madness in your hand. It works like this...

    1) Draw a card with Madness.
    2) Discard (not Exile) a card that does not have Madness.
    3) All cards in your hand with Madness gain the described Mana amount.

You cannot Discard cards with Madness to keep you from accidentally discarding a card that you're trying to fill. Discard will remove the last card in your hand, so you should know which one is about to go bye bye, but this is an extra measure to keep that from happening.

    Thanks for clarification.

I do not understand what you mean by "accidentally" though.
It is not like you have no control over when and which card to discard(at this very moment, do not know of expansion changes it).
To me it looks more a limitation than an help. If I want to discard it(instead of exiling, for whatever reason) I should be able to.

Also this leads to other questions....

If my last card has madness can I use Liliana first skill? What will happen then?

What if, the opponent forces me to discard in the same case?

Will cards and abilities that currently specify that they discard the first card in the opponents hand still work that way or are they getting altered?

I am going to guess that madness would be invisible to that ability and the next card(s) would be discarded.
