I LOVED the pvp event

It seems like if you get 3000 players in a bracket that you're going to have a crazy tie for first broken only by a race to get the last match in first. I think anyone with a perfect score should get the top award. Oddly enough my bracket only had 9 people in it, either not too many in the silver tier or since I entered a bit late it was just after a bracket filled.0

I've seen a screenshot of someone in Gold Tier where there are only 3 players in the tier. Are there only 3 gold players in the entire world? If not, why are they being split up?
I'm sure there are a lot of people going to wait in Bronze Tier to see how exploitable the system turns out to be.0 -
I did have a difficult time with my Level 40 PWs getting matched to Level50-52 opposition - they're fine for QB, with only a few levels difference, but 10-12 is difficult to overcome.
That said, I probably also didn't plan my first few matches very well and wasted some attempts (not realising the attempt limits) and still scored 13.
And it's great to actually try and use some of my lesser decks - I completely rebuilt Jace, who I hadn't touched in a month and even had a go with Liliana (never been able to find a deck that flows for her...)
Solid 9/10 for this event....0 -

You always get matched with an opponent that is exactly 10+ level above you. That means he has to play with a lvl 14 Chandra for example against someone who is 24 and probably has better cards.
It's almost impossible for him to achieve anything in this event, he's hoping for the second reward, which is 10 crystals.
Both events so far have been too hard for new players.
I mean, I understand that you can't make it easy, so anyone can win, but you should consider helping new players get in the game in some way. For example, just a bit after I started playing in December, there was a free Fat Pack for everyone as compensation for some issues. And Fat Packs back then had better drop rates than they do now. I got a lot of good cards from it that really helped me start playing the game properly.
There has to be a way for new players to get into the game, so they can hook up and stay. Making everyone 10 levels above is not very welcoming.
For me, as a veteran player, I have no complaints. Some of my planeswalkers are still level 50 and I had to face level 60 opponents, but my decks are good enough that I don't really care. I still lost 2 fights though, because not all of my decks are like my Sarkhan and Kiora decks, but that's okay.
I haven't been playing for long (3 months), and I have already started to collect decent cards. Getting on daily, finishing the story missions, and playing some Quick Battles will really help build the decks.
I was able to win about 75% of my matches, even with my level 3 white deck against higher level opponents. I now have three level 60 plainswalkers (all from the original 5) and the decks are starting to come together.
I've had decent drop luck lately. I had none of the good rare or mythics for a long time, and they have started to drop as I build up slowly. Getting the crystals and using them to buy the 300 crystal limited time packs have really helped.
I haven't spent any money on the game either, just consistent play, good deck construction, and playing the matches well.0 -
I enjoyed the event but it bugs me that in order to rank well I'm going to have to set my alarm for 3am which is when the event starts and check back in every 3 odd hours until the event finishes.0

You can "save up" your plays, so if you do 10 games at 3 a.m. (I know, right?) you don't have to check them until 10-11 ish which gives you 6 ish hours of sleep
Or if you can do 15 games (empty all immediately available plays) then you can wait almost 12 hours before you have to check back in to avoid losing plays.0 -
Perhaps the brackets could be regionalised to no-one has to start/end their round in the middle of the night?0

Next event doesn't even list a card at top milestone for bronze league. Not sure how it is for higher ones but it's not even worth to play it without a guaranteed card reward... Big disappointment considering unique mythicals for finishing PvE event that was less time consuming/frustrating. Wouldn't You say?0

I think my response was less favorable than most. My view:
- I agree on the awards seeming much, much less worth it. I felt like I spent MORE time playing, but received far less for my trouble.
- I don't see playing with all colors as necessarily new to this event. I had to use pretty much all 5 colors to maximize rewards in the other event. I was always using different decks
- I felt like I "had" to play to keep up, which is something I hated about it. And I fell behind big time overnight (from 35 to 87) and there was just no way to make up the ground it seemed.
- At times I had played out all 5 colors and could not continue for hours. I get why they did this, but I prefer the freedom of playing when and what I want with the other event.
- Bottom line is I felt a bit underwhelmed by it. I can make more runes by doing Quick Battle, and the 35 crystals I got in return and the few cards was very, very "meh." Felt similar to daily rewards, frankly.
- In the end, I could do better in the same time period in QB. I can get a rare, tons of runes and about the same crystals.
As long as they rotate the events, I am fine with it. As for Origins card rewards, if you save your crystals you can buy whatever you want.0 -
I really liked that it was possible to compete for the top without having to put in an insane amount of time, you really can't do that with quick battle unless you're trying to snipe the bracket at the end. I would prefer to see a little more leeway on start and end, you could put in the 4 hour refresh but set the max plays for a two day at 50 so the start and end times aren't forced play times for those who find the times inconvenient. I'd also like to see something for progression up to somewhere near the max ribbons. The big event reward can stay at 25 but kick a few runes or crystals back along the rest of the climb.0

I don't see that at all. I spent more time than I wanted to on this (more time than I probably spend to get into the top 100 of QB) and yet I ended up at like 87. If I spent the same amount of time in QB, I would have come out with a similar amount of crystals, and thousands of runes vs much, much less.0 -
I agree that compared to the OGW first event the prizes were less and that took less time to complete, however compared to QB this was much more rewarding. For a fixed amount of matches there was a shot at a mythic. First in QB is an insane number of matches and the bar is constantly moving.
I guess it depends what your target is, just shooting for a rare and some runes then QB may be better, but for crystals and the opportunity for mythics, NoP was by far better.
I assume the OGW event was sort of a specail thing for the set release whereas NoP is probably a fairly common event.0 -
Wow this is one of the best examples of "this is why we can't have good things" I've come across in a while.
Not so long ago, quick battles was about the only way to get gold runes for boosters, and free packs. But they were grindy, and rewarded only the most hardcore players.
But don't worry... The devs came to the rescue and released the pve event! For a month, you could complete the event every weekend and get free cards! During which, you made so much gold runes you could basically buy a fat pack every week. Everyone's happy right?
Oh no, we cry. The event is getting boring. And it's only on the weekends. More content please!
Don't worry, the devs are on it! Now you get 2 events a week, and more objectives to complete! That should keep you entertained for many more hours!
Do we thank them? Oh no. We complain. Rewards are too low! (it's free boosters, **** are you complaining about). Too much effort! (how is completing the event more grindy than qb? That's the biggest **** yet)
Clearly the devs are too generous. Everyone in the last few posts sound like spoiled children who just got cars for their birthday, but in the wrong colour.0 -

Nope i wouldnt. PvE was once a week, PvP is twice a week. So the card will be rewarded for the weekend event..0 -

You clearly don't understand the concept of feedback. I didn't see anyone here complain that they hated it. People are giving their honest opinions. I can tell you as someone who works in product design, honest opinions is exactly what is needed.
This is a freemium game. You want your free players to get enough to continue to feel invested to play, so eventually they will buy some stuff. It's a tricky balance. And a large part of those people will never buy anything. But you still want and even NEED those players.
This isn't people whining about not getting enough free stuff. That's an incredibly shallow understanding of feedback.0 -
Frankly, it hard to take anyone who thinks quick battles are an easier way to earn crystals seriously.
Just because you mix some feedback with your whining doesn't mean you aren't whining.
And you aren't the only one whining. I'm so sick about seeing people whine about not getting enough (extra) free stuff.0 -
Dude, YOU are the one whining. You're a self-appointed social justice warrior for the game, which nobody needs. If you don't like the feedback here, don't read it. Everyone has a valid opinion, especially in a friggin' FREE game.0

THREAD FROM THE DEAD!!!
Does everyone still love NoP as much as they did when it was first introduced?0 -

I have only slight memories of an event where no secondary objectives were part of the match. I do believe that having such an event improves players' creativity and providing an incentive to use PWs you normally may not WANT to use because of restrictions imposed by secondary objectives.0
