I don't know if the devs have thought about this or not but as far as gold/lazy Thor was concerned Ice said devs would see how people took it. I just want to point out that if lots of people buy and level lazy Thor that doesn't mean they approve or that it will be good for the game in the long run.

It is powerful. It is available. People will level it. I will level it.

I do no approve of it. It is necessary to acquire it and level it because whether it not its good for the game it's in the game and it's power will be useful. Please do not continue the gold cover theme even if your typically trusty statistics mislead you. This is fools gold your chasing with the gold concept!!!

Unfortunately as you stated, People will level him. That will just give them more incentive to release gold variations. If they see its making them money then i really can't see an end to it. He will be the first of many.

Don't be rude, saying that you dislike a certain aspect of the game while acknowledging that you have to partake in it to be successful in the game is perfectly reasonable.

There's a huge difference between leveling a character you don't like, and spending $40 on covers for a character you don't like. That difference is money. It's the business model; to the extent that it keeps the game afloat, I support it. But people who spend money on features they complain about are clowns. Dupes. Fools. Especially considering that there's nothing in this game that's required to do well.

I'm sure a lot of people will level lazy Thor but when you get to a point where every team has him, that's obviously going to cut into the bottom line too because as a company you clearly don't want people to just take 3 characters to level 141 and then never bother with anyone else again.

I'm still withholding judgment until I see his final stats. If they want to make a 'dumb tank' kind of character for 3* that's fine, like someone with a lot of HP and below average damage on skills that are impossible to mess up (for the AI). If he's going to be like old Thor which is basically 'guy who does a lot of damage who also happens to have more HP than almost anyone', then that's bad. Looking at the level 15 numbers I suspect he's going to be the latter (guy who does a lot of damage who happens to have more HP than any comparable guy) since these numbers look awfully similar to Black Panther's black but will wait until someone have him maxed.

I agree a 141 lvl Thor makes sense. But I can't bring myself to use him. He was the main character I played with from the first day the game was launched (next to iron man) and have fond memories .

Using the gold version feels very much a betrayal .

Sarcasm aside, I can kind of understand the 'upgrading' of certain heroes (or even villains one supposes) as these ARE superheroes we are working with and it wouldn't really do for a godlike character like Thor to not be able to 'catch up' with some of the other heroes.

But... then why not just upgrade the original characters people already have and love? Or offer the option to do so in case people don't want to.

Seriously, though, I wouldn't like to see more Gold "reprints" in the nearest future. It's basically more of the same content, needed to be leveled once again. Don't like the concept at all.

Lmfao! But wouldn't he need to turn all tiles except reds to greens and yellows before he starts his turn. Otherwise he's just trash

I have a related question. Seems to me that Patch is basically a gold version of Astonishing Wolverine. Should I keep the 2* wolvie now that I have a maxed Patch? Not sure I see the point of keeping him when I could use his ISO to level up someone else.

1st off I never mentioned anywhere that I would be spending money on it. You made that assumption yourself. Gamar pretty much nailed it here. Just because I will acquire the cover through tourneys and packs and invest ISO due to his power levels. I'm doing it to be competitive, not because I like Gold duped covers. That's the whole point in the thread is that even people who do no like the gold concept are still gonna use him strictly because he is available.

You probably made yourself look more like an **** than me a joke.

Patch has to be built around, i.e. you often have to bring a stunner/Loki along. He doesn't play well with other good red/green users unless they are lower level or can stun themselves like IM 40. And selling Wolvie won't give you that much ISO anyway.

Exactly my thoughts.

I am going to level this new Thor because I like the character and his abilities. But I don't want more gold characters. Please. New characters is fun, gold is boring.

And we need more 2* good characters.
