  • I think the main deal w/ easy mode is that more people are grinding it so the top points keep going up whereas in hard, most people only do a couple of run through so points stagnate pretty fast. Since there is a cap on rubberbanding multiplier, if you miss refreshes, you're missing out on a lot of points at the max rubberbanding.

The rewards have come in very oddly for me so far. I got the Lazy Cap covers for the individual placement and a set of rewards for one of the two sub-events. I just got an alliance reward for one of the two sub-events as well. That's all I've received to this point...just surprised at how they've come in.

I was able to keep up by clearing once after about 12 hours, clearing a second time plus 8,9, and 10 twice after 40ish hours and going nuts at the end.

Yeah, it's weird. I got one of my subs and the main bracket immediately. The other sub's rewards and an alliance sub rewards just came through for me.

And my heroic token was yet another 2* Thor cover. My last 3 pulls have all been 2* Thor.
  • Having to be at work really put a damper on my chances to hit top 2 for the main bracket. I ended up 4th. There are times that I really hate the ending times on these events. Oh well...it was a great effort by everyone. Very glad to have the 3 Captain Am covers and looking forward to finally getting another Hulk black cover in the next PvP (and hopefully my first red cover, after having scored about 8 or 9 green ones, haha).

Did anyone else think that the PvP for the Hood was more competitive than normal? I can usually score 700 fairly easily in those tournaments, but last night I struggled to a top 10 finish with only 650 odd points. I was getting hammered two and three opponents at a time once I was over 600. I had to do the "shield, drop shields for a big point match, and shield again" strategy.
  • Whew that was a grind. Finished top 50 in main so I at least got all three covers. Opened utter **** off all my tokens in the subs though.
  • The alliance reward structure puts a real dickens on the competition. Shield must perform to get their 500hp and makes everyone's fight harder as they are hammering everyone else for the top spots and it trickles down. I can and have beaten shield members but many of our rosters do not have that muscle, and I am fine with that. I personally have 2 problems, one with the top heavy reward structure, and second that three of the last four pvp events were alliance based. They need to either flatten the rewards or make less events alliance based.

Just watch the next pvp that will not have alliance rewards, as long as it is not a high demand new cover will be back to being lax again.

I agree; the overlapping alliance events were a real problem, especially when the 2 subs and the Thor event ended at the same time. I think only one alliance event should be running at one time. Seems like the trend is going towards more and more alliance events, though, judging by the last few PvP tournaments.

I agree on the overlapping alliance events, it's a little taxing to try and go back and forth. One at a time is definitely ideal (see: easier)

I think I received the rest of the rewards for the Simulator, Alliance and individual. Pulled my first blue cover for IW from one the Heroic tokens, also pulled a 3rd black cover for Psylocke from a standard token this morning. Not too shabby.

Now it's time for Opening Day. Go Pirates!!!!

I was able to break 250k but that wasn't good enough to get in the top 50. Only got 2 of the 3 covers for 3* Cap. Finished top 5 in both sub events. With all the rewards I ended up getting 400 HP and was able to unlock another slot. icon_e_biggrin.gif

Yeesh, that was exhausting. Tried to push hard in the simulator to get the 1-2 reward, but couldn't quite make it. Part of it was because I just got bored, lol.

Ah well. I'm happy we do as well as we do. I don't have any intention to compete against SHIELD. They got way too much time on their hands.

This is true, in easy mode it is ironically harder to take advantage of rubberbanding. Firstly, the point totals are smaller so the ranks tend to be very very tightly packed. Secondly, as you mentioned a lot more people really grind easy mode to the ground (think of all the players with only 1* rosters).

The way to counteract this is to not join easy mode brackets too early. I ended up getting #2 overall, 1st in both subs. I did about 2.5 refreshes, and only joined the easy mode sub 1.5 days before the end. This means I did all nodes that were worth more than 300 points, then when they refreshed I just did a few of the high points nodes to get within top 10, then before the event ended one more round that rubberbanded me up to #1. Joining easy mode brackets early just puts you in with the grinders and you will never catch up to them.

Actually there is no point to grinding the nodes for the rewards, you could just do a few random lightning round matches and get 500 ISO much faster.
  • Woot, finally the yellow IW in the pocket. Not even sure why I care since I won't be putting any iso into her anytime soon but it's like if it's there I might as well get it.

This PVE is probably much less grindy compared to the others so far. More about managing rubberbanding and scaling then really grinding except near the end of subs and end of event.
  • They are like digital trophies, not meant to level them. If you level them you are making a statement I guess, but they are not better than current 3* options obviously. We should be well past the point where IW is required for PvE nodes, there was some Hunt nodes that she was required for. I made mine a 4/1/2 just because I can, but I want a 3/5/5.

Same build goal here. I actually consider that IW might be fun to throw in for an annoyance factor. Lining up matches is much tougher. It could slow down play for opponents.

Our alliance is ranked 110 in the Fearless Defenders tourney. Need rank 50 for Black Hulk.

Jumped in to contribute 300 myself. Right now, top 10 alliances are in the 4500 point range.
  • Don't worry about it, it's still early for Fearless Defenders. The current rankings are meaningless as I'm sure a lot of us haven't even joined brackets yet or started grinding. We're pretty much assured a top 10 with zero effort based on all our previous results. I'm guessing rank 6 again icon_mrgreen.gif

I've jumped into Fearless Defenders myself but having a hard time. It's either I'm burned a little from the last PvE grinding or I'm just not getting the colors I need for whoever I play, or a little of both! icon_e_sad.gif

Methinks I'll take it easy tonight to gather up some mental strength for the event tomorrow morning! Lol

I have jumped in and come out strong but not planning on using any shields yet. Don't mind the extra fights because I need the iso anyways plus it gives me something to do since there are no other events going on. Made it up to 569 last night before going to bed and lost about 150 points overnight but right back up around 550. I am pretty sure that by the end of the event I should be able to get 800-900 points and hopefully get the HP.

I got up to 317 last night which was good for 4th at the time. Cashed in the token which ended up being a 2 star wolvie, sold him and threw a tank team in. Got hit for -71 overnight...never noticed the "and others" at the bottom of the attack list..,just thought that was funny. I need one last red cover for Hulk, but I don't care to grind for it at the moment.
