I've never tanked, but I'm at such a disadvantage with my MMR that I can never make headway in these things at some point. Gonna have to do some work on this.

I got two squishies, so no one is afraid to skip me at my current MMR.


I'm throwing in the towel on this tourney @ 834. I might get a few cheap points at the end, but I will probably fall short of 900.

I'm curious to hear how everyone is fairing. This PvP event seemed to be a lot more competitive than most. I don't know if my MMR is going up or if the Alliances have got people motivated. Where is everyone at now and are you currently shielded or planning to grind? For those grinders, may your matchups be in your favor and your defenses successful!

Siting at 815 in fourth ( ) in my bracket. Planning to grind to 900 at 8:00 EST. First place is currently Bugpop from S.H.I.E.L.D with 924. You are right the competition is way higher this event. I can not remember the last time I saw a bracket started on the second day with four people fighting for first all with over 800 points.

I think it is probably alliance related. I know I would have thrown up a 24 hour shield at 700 points and been happy with my top 10 2 cover win but trying to get Retribution more points has me using shorter shields and trying to spring to the top spot.

Ok, shielded at 827 now, will make a final small push towards the end. Can't find a decent match, looks like everyone is shielded atm.

I doubt they will give out the same alliance rewards for top 50 in the future, going to be more competitive.

The 500 HP reward is blinding people - unfortunately it will go to the SHIELD which contains serious mutants ;/

As far as MMR is concerned - I inadvartently went so high that even get walkyourpath in my queue sometimes which tells me I need to do some SERIOUS tanking in next LRs :S

S.H.I.E.L.D does not even have 20 members @.@. They currently have 17 and are beating all the 20 man squads. They are averaging 870 points per member. That is rather impressive.

I am at 601 with two SHIELD members and one 5 Deadly Venoms member cued up and ready to take me over 700 and then I'll either shield or push on depending on what is going on. I'll boost and should be able to clear all three of these in 5 minutes or less. I should easily be top 5 in my bracket.

Made it to 867. Lost 33 points in the fight that would have put me to 900. Rabble Rabble Rabble. Afraid I shielded. I will unshield at 11:30. Hopefully I can make it 900 for that HP. I do not think I can make it to number one in my bracket. Bugpop has 1002 points.

We have slipped to 11th. Clearly it is just for bragging rights but I would love to see us in the top 10

Think i'm done, currently shielded til the end at 883. Wanted to past 900 for the HP but was hit for -33, meh. Ranked 2 in my relatively tame bracket, 1st has close to 1000 pts though.

I think for our first event we are doing great. We may not get #1 but I am super impressed where we are now. I think there are over 3000 alliances so being in the top 50 is awesome! If we stay top 10 thats even better.

Don't burn through hero points for shields just for the sake of the alliance points. We'll be in the top 50 for sure, so enjoy the victory. If we were super close to #1 MAYBE but since it doesn't look like its in the cards this time, don't sweat it.

I don't expect people to change their playing habits too much. Just play like you normally would and I think it will all be fine. We might have a few people in the alliance that might not be on the forums so hard to tell what they are doing. I am sure once they add in-game alliance communication, it will all go smoother.

I made the mistake of joining right away instead of waiting 24 hours and then joining. I usually get the same amount of points with less shielding. I'm sitting at 5th places with 808 points. I'll do what I need to do just to stay in the top 5.

Also do we want to just have one alliance chat or separate ones per event AND a general chat? I am fine with either way.

I waited over 24 hours before joining and still ended up in a BRUTAL one.

I imagine there will be one last push especially from the 6-8th people who are close to the top 5 and from bugpop helping SHIELD beat 5deadlyVenoms. My shield goes down at 11:30 so I will attempt to hit 900. Not sure if I will use another shield though since we cant hit first. See if I can stay top 5 without using another batch of HP. Actually the top 5 vs 10 is only some Iso so maybe I will go balls to the wall for 1st I would have to fall to less than 600 to fall out of top 10.

As for one versus multiple topics I too am fine either way.

Yea, I probably overspent on shields .... But I thought I'd be able to make a serious run at 1100 (hah). I will be joining the next event later on for sure.


Still fun and alliances have been a good wrinkle. Just needs to be fleshed out more.

Also looking over at General Discussion I am glad we managed our first event with no drama. No leavers or accusations of not pulling weight which seems to be going on in some groups.

I do have one concern which I voiced over in GD and will repeat here. I have no problem with people playing lite or even taking a whole event off (although grabbing an easy 100 would be appreciated). What I am worried about is if people "quit" the game for whatever reason. Especially with people not active on the forums it is very possible to end up with a "dead" member who has left the game and have no way to know it. Hopefully the devs will add in features to solve this problem but it is something we may want to think about.

Somewhat related I will be taking a cruise April 3rd-7th so I will be unable to contribute during events then. Know that if there is an event then that you will be fighting the good fight with 19.

LordWill, once again your the man. I don't know how you got us to 20 roster slots, but we wouldn't be top 10 without it that's for sure!

Retribution - strong showing overall. We are currently 6th and averaging about 630pts per person. That's a great start. Hopefully future events will divide the top reward across the top 10. Having the same reward from 2-50 spans ranks of people 21-1000 assuming all alliances have full rosters. That's a crazy wide span. Looking forward to future events!

I knew when they started the event and what the rewards were, I knew we needed to have the numbers.

I'm sure moving forward they will have more stat information so we can tell how we are doing as a group and who is doing what per event. If there are inactive people then we can replace them. Part of the problem there is not a way for us to communicate in the game. They said they were working on something to help with that. And I am also glad we didn't have people bail for the grass is greener mentality. A few people that joined and left wanted to be with friends etc so no biggie. I am happy with our alliance. Like I said, I wanted to try and cover all the bases. I didn't want to be an elitist jerk who only wanted high end players. We all started at the same level so we'll eventually all get stronger together

Since I did not use a final shield I managed to end up +25 HP overall. Not bad for 3 BP covers and a nice chunk of Iso.

Looks like the Thor event does NOT have a alliance feature. Shame I really enjoy it.

I was fighting at the end, almost hit 800 and I'm glad I could help us overtake Terran Dominion for 5th, even though it's no different from 50th.

@akb Actually we did have a leaver, clint was poached by SHIELD
