EotS pros and cons: what am I missing?

Pros:
1) more ISO available. everybody benefits
2) Health packs are perhaps less necessary for people who aren't chasing placement, because the removal of "optimal" clears means that you can conceivably hit your event points target without having to burn through health packs
Cons:
1) Placement Chasers just saw the time sink increase
2) Placement Chasers how have to block off time at the start of a sub to get their points rather than schedule 3-4 periods throughout the day to do their optimal clears
3) health packs are potentially more important for Placement Chasers, because ties are broken according to who finishes first; those chasing placement may not be able to afford to wait for health to regenerate.
4) increasing the number of clears necessary to get all rewards from "Hard" nodes has made it harder, both literally and figuratively, to acquire Command Points and the wave fight event token; 5* transitioners and 4* transitioners both suffer, but the latter perhaps more so, since 5* transitioners may have usable 5* to carry them through the back end of that node.
Undetermined:
1) is it possible to reach max progression without having to tap every node the maximum possible number of times?
2) If so, where is the sweet spot in this Brave New World, that hath such grinding in it?

Considering I'm at 74k after sub2 by maxing all nodes and the max progression is 116k I'd say you could probably play half as hard as I have and still make max progression a day or two early.0
-
That would be lovely, as I'm at just a shade under half your score.0
-
The essential wave nodes are usually worth huge points. Like in sub 2, the Iron Fist essential is worth 1824. I believe there's one later that's worth over 4K. So grind those nodes at least and max progression should be pretty easy. Doesn't look like they've set the bar very high on this one.0
-
If you grind every node to the point where they stop increasing in difficulty (ie never do any of the nodes at their hardest level) then you'll still make it.0
-
Con: not only are you grinding every node, some of the nodes are the four to five wave survival nodes. So, extra play times required on those.0
-
Con: ties
Pro: if you're not getting ALL the points, then you can play anytime you want in the sub with very little chance of tieing.0 -
As someone who has no interest in grinding the nodes or anything like that having to play the last node 349085021947087 times to get the one recruit token is making me really hate this. Don't have time for this0
-
Great, scaled to the point where I just barely get by and get 70 iso. No recruit token for me. Getting sick of this game and the constant **** changes.0
-
Pro: I actually enjoy the challenge of Deadly and Hard nodes. Scaling with each win makes the game more interesting to me.
Con: Prizes don't scale with enemies. A bonus 100 Iso for Hard and 250 Iso for Deadly would be an easy fix.0 -
Con: the increased iso was a bait and switch. 48 hours of improvement only to revert back to the same dumpy rewards for the 2nd sub.0
-
I guess those "better iso" rewards were tied to the additional clears required in the first sub that ran for 48 hours. Glad i didnt get sucked in0

More ISO? You mean that 2 or 3 thousands more that require hours to grind?
I dont think there is more ISO from EotS... i think there is exactly the same ISO as in shorter PvE events, considering the missing of potential progression reward and placement reward if there were two short events instead of one big EotS.0 -

They double placement ISO rewards in both 2 day sub-events and 7 day full events. So you don't lose any placement ISO.0 -
the 'more iso ' thing was just an illusion
like the replacement of crit boost, it was only due to sub 1 being a 48h sub, where crit boost had always been removed. in sub 2 they are back in full force.
only people who were already grinding 9 (or 15) times each sub will actually beneficiate from more iso
otherwise, even with iso rewards added, with the juicy reward being diluted (ie harder to get), youll get less or at best the same for equivalent grinding as before0 -
Con: half my roster is locked out because Wolverine is an opponent.0
-
Very slow and endlessly grindy. Not fun because you can play very tough nodes for a very long time and still have very, very very low placement, because you weren't a crazy person who spent 5-6 hours per day doing full clears. That's a lot of work just for some extra tokens, hp and covers! It's just not fun or worth it. I'll stick with pvp and ddq, thank you. Where you actually get decent rewards for only a few hours every few days.0
-
I calculated just over 3 clears/node/day. its short of 4/day. way shorter than green checks or even the point where pts start going down (that is 6x I think on the bigger nodes). progression is easy here. you could jump in today and still not have to get green checks on everything, but would have to get close to that maybe.0

Not only that but they reduced the number of iso rewards, far less 200 and 500 and more 70, 100, and CBS back into play. This was a lemon of events.0 -

Its still good ISO. From this event I've been able to max and champ a 4* a full week ahead of when I expected to AND put 100 lvls on another 4*. (the increased daily rewards did help too for that 2nd one.)
So while it's soul-crushingly repetitive , watching-paint-dry monotonous, "Wait- what wave am I on?" wearisome, "I can't believe its only day 4" tedious, "What's wrong with my life that I expect MPQ to fill the emptiness" laborious...... the ISO isn't an illusion.0
