I hate the "race" aspect of this test. Even though the "timers" don't exist, you are in fact racing every other player to make the top spots with the exact same score. Not fair at all that people who do the same work get different rewards on a first come, first served basis.
Also to seriously's question I have done all clears in 2 subs and have used very few health packs. The reason being I did not do all clears on all nodes at once and I have quake with 5 yellow to protect against caltrops. With all the AOE damage she is the EOTS hero. Now if I didn't have quake I would have been going through health packs like crazy on the survival nodes and probably would throw my phone. I normally never do well in this PVE because of caltrops and the survival nodes. Now they are just long but beatable with quake.0 -
I could forgive them if this is a test to set the scores for a progression based system, other than that though, this event is unforgivable. Its so far the other way from what everyone had asked for.0

Just letting you know that I'm going for the 25cp only.
I find this current test event a drain on my life-Force.
What was wrong with the last Rocket and Groot test event, that was the best event by a country mile.
It was easy but so what, why does everything in life have to be hard. I even witnessed other members of the casual alliance I'm in reach 25cp.
Since the winter soldier event which nearly killed me I will NEVER ever grind away like some crazed lunatic. The lack of sleep & the 8 hour timer thing is unhealthy
In closing, bring in ASAP the easy last test event format .....obviously taking out the 20point repeatable nodes.

BECAUSE OF COURSE THE TOKEN IS LAST.
Struggling with it, THINK I can take it with all damage boost if I'm careful. Just waiting for health packs to regenerate
Update: The token that took so long, and was a massive struggle?
2* cover.
Wasn't worth it.
I'm unlikely to spend money on this game again any time soon. I'm not giving anyone money if this is honestly what they think is "fun".0 -

Pretty much my exact opinion. Loved that Rocket and Groot test event, absolutely hate this test. I missed the last three clears on the final node of sub 1 because it just scaled to an impossible level and with two feeder ninjas Wolvie was dropping adamantium slashes every third turn. Decided today to hit the 4* essential node and last wave node until I get the good stuff and just take every other node to 5 clears to make sure I hit final progression. Even with the extra ISO rewards this just feels like a giant time drain, 9 clears for 9 nodes is just too much. Yesterday ate up most of my free time just grinding that first sub only to be scaled out of a total clear. Since I am already out of the top 50 I'm just going to get to progression and then maybe farm a little.
4 to 5 clears for rewards seems about right. I'm fine with the race element if the timer is gone, the placement prizes will be locked out for me on all but maybe 3 day events. Grinding this much simply isn't healthy.0 -
Yesterday, I said I was mostly liking this test. Today I'm definitely liking it less, as these gauntlet nodes are wearying to deal with.
Today's hard node is 5 waves, with constantly accumulating and unavoidable damage every time you kill a goon. I'm on my 6th clear and it's only getting worse. And of course I haven't gotten my token yet. Why are there 9 clears for these?
If this isn't a stepping stone to going progression-only, having to do up to 9 clears to get a token is just cruel. There should be guaranteed 4*s rewards for that much grinding.
On top of that, RNG is trolling me this week, as I'm 11/11 for 2*s out of the EotS vault.0 -
I just love this scaling! 5th clear on the Keep Clear node raised my 217 hand ninjas to be 270 hand ninjas. A 50 level increase, that's just insane.
I guess next clear they'll be 350 ninjas at this rate.
I don't think the devs understand what the word gradual means.0 -

Hi Devs,
Despite repeated calls to reduce scaling on the highest ends of rosters, nothing has been done. Hitting level 505 toons in 5 waves is not fun or funny. Reduced to only using 5* where I have 103 roster slots filled with 1/2/3/4/5* is looking like an extreme waste of toons I have built up over the period of playing.
You are still punishing people who level their toons. My T10 except for 3 guys are all 3* rosters.
Why don't you just build the Pve game like DPD? Limit some nodes to their star rating and let's all enjoy the same scaling. It becomes a test of skill and resources rather highest roster strength. Deep and diverse rosters are encouraged no? That was what I was sold on when you decided to make 2* an essential in Pve.
If you lock out some players, that's progression there for them when they play and get more toons.0 -
This new test could be amazing and my favorite way to do matches if they just made one little tweak.
As someone that is still trying to get to the 3* tier I am happy that the rewards are pretty good for completion and I know how many times I have to play each node until I don't have to play it anymore (for placement). I like the thought of it being a race and not who can grind it the most.
That being said the slight tweak that I want is that waves should only be one clear. I like doing the normal clear node, watching the enemies get stronger and feeling a little accomplished by beating the node for the last time. I do not like even doing the waves a second time. Waves take way too much time to be enjoyable and I might sound crazy but I think the scaling on those are harder.
Tl;dr keep it the same but keep waves at one clear and I'll be happy.0 -
OK, I knew this was a complete disaster as soon as this was announced, but I decided to give it a try...
now I am on day three so it's time for some conclusions:
- The scaling on the easy nodes is fine.
-The scaling on the normal nodes is way too much hard, especially for a 48h sub with increasing difficulty that goes up for 9 times...
- The wave nodes with the scaling become insane....yes they are still manageable if one has the right characters to use but it took me 35 minutes to clear "THE PIT" wave node and I have to repeat it 11 times to clear this single node
I have been forced to play from 18.00 to 21.00....then from 22.00 to 00.00, then from 7.00 to 8.30 and finally from 11.00 to 11.30 in order to clear the sub ...totally 7 hours....
This is not fun anymore...it's like having a second job and furthermore I am ranking 16 so no chance to get the better prizes....all for nothing
Are you sure this is the best way to play PVE?
For me, this is only a way to force me quit for good.
If for top 10 placement I have to do 7 hours grinding at the beginning of my slice time I can only say:
Thank you for the memories, but this game is not anymore what I like to play.
Give us PROGRESSION REWARDS so we could decide if it's worth the extra efforts in order to get them....0 -

I don't understand why the Dev team are so terrified of giving us covers they would bar them behind hours of grinding and THEN force some people out of contention for a laugh anyway.
New covers pressure me into needing more roster spots, which is how this game gets money out of me. By choking my progress it takes the pressure off me to do anything but play for free, and it's down to RNGeezus to put the screws on me for another Logan's Loonies.

After clearing out two entire subs to green check marks, I've given up the will to live. I can't keep up with this pace. And, I was only in the Top 50. Sure, I was able to play whenever I wanted too as long as I didn't care about actually placing well. Now I'm in the 3rd sub, and it's a workday. So long 6 hours worth of time to grind throughout the day.
I already have a job. I do not need a second job disguised as a mobile game.
The scaling on the top end of this event is RIDICULOUS. The wave nodes are bonkers. My roster has been reduced to: Daisy, SWitch, Teen Jean, IM40 and 4hor mix and match. Once Wolverine becomes available again, my 360 OML will be in the mix, too. You know, my lvl 360 Wolverine that has been raising my scaling in an event where I can't even use him...
If there was no placement, and the scaling was adjusted a smidge, and the number of clears was reducted; I'm actually down with this event structure. BUT, as far as rewards go, we would need WAY more Progression rewards, with a lot better Progression rewards in there.0 -
I usually float around the Top 100 in PVE and it is clear that I will not be getting that this event.... but that is not an issue.
I have played as much as I wanted.
Some of the node rewards are still too low for the effort, and burying the juicy stuff among 10 other rewards is frustrating, but I have been fortunate so far that I have not missed any.
I will comfortably hit progression, so that is cool.
Scaling seems fine,
1) I can grind the easy and essential nodes out if I so choose...
2) The penultimate node is challenging at the top end, but I am ok with that.
3) The final node gets very tough but only after I reach the point needed to get the necessary progression contribution (4/5 clears)
All of which I am happy with. Ive earnt a shed load of ISO etc.
Can it be improved? certainly....
1) make the signature rewards easier to get without hitting a node 11 times.
2) Set more progression rewards
3) Sort out Waves so that they are challenging but 1 and done... I seriously doubt anyone likes grinding them....
However, the more I think about it, the more it seems likely this is setting up Progression only.
For whatever reason, the Devs don't want everyone to get guaranteed 4 star covers so to manage this in progression only, they need to know where to set progression to limit the number given out. By setting such ridiculous grind targets, it will be clear how much the dedicated player, ie those that used to compete for top 10 and get the 4 star covers, will do. This gives them a point that setting guaranteed 4* covers at will limit how many are achieved.
So the fact that so many people are currently grinding the heck out of this test event suggests to me that we will see massive progression targets if they decide to go away from placement in PVE. Which will cause some complaints, I have no doubt. But people are clearly showing that they will grind for the current rewards... so D3 are only really responding to perceived behaviour.
Not saying that is sensible or correct, but it is what they are doing.
So I am going to keep playing the PVE test cos that gives me my fix with some reasonable (not good, just reasonable) rewards, but I do think grinding it might come back and bite us in the future...0 -
What annoys me most of these tests is that they are not doing what the original goal was, fixing scaling !!!
Again, scaling for 4 -> 5 and 5 players is much worse than for the rest (in this particular test, being IMHB and Jean the ones buffed, I guess that 4 players are fine, because with those two buffed things are much easier, also switch, IF and Quake, ut probably if they weren't both buffed 4 players would be in trouble too). So people with the best rosters, who have played the game the most, your most loyal players are the ones who have the worst time! And now that being fast is so important for the final placement, it is even worse!!!
There are some nice things in this test, the iso and specially that it looks like we are slowly going to a progression type PvE (yeah we all want a progression type PvE without placement), but PLEASE fix the scaling in the high end!!!! People with the best rosters should have equal or better time than the rest!!!0 -
So.. much... grinding...
Sure, you get more ISO, but every match is a chore, especially those endless wave nodes, and now it's even very tough for me to get Top 300 per sub in order to win an event token. 2-3 hours is still not enough to get that? Tiny Kitty that.0
