Yeah, it's gotta be her. Prof X was teaching her how to control her telepathy and/or the Phoenix Force (at least that's the version I remember from the Claremont years).

You are right ! Give the "mon" a No Prize. Jean Grey was his first student. Brought to him by her parents at the age of 10 or 11 to treat her powers. Of course Charles trained her instead on how to use it (he then blocked it coz it was too powerful for her to control at a young age - but that's another story)

Anyhow - the bonus point answer - Charles Xavier then used what he learnt from Jean to fine tune Cerebo....which was would eventually be used to find the first X-Man... Scott Summers!
