Length of Event: 3.5 days
Sub-Events? 8 Rounds
Main Bracket Size: 20
Unique Reward(s): No
Other Notes:
- The first 20 people who join the event under an alliance are locked into that leaderboard for the remainder of the event.
- If you join the event for an alliance that already has 20 people in the same leaderboard, you’ll be put into another leaderboard for the remainder of the event.
- Your alliance must choose a side to fight on. This event is balanced so an Alliance can complete one of the Boss Battles, but not both. Trying to switch sides will not help you.
- If you're not sure which side you want to play, it's okay to try both, but your alliance should focus on one side to get the best rewards.
- Every playable character in the game is playable on each side.
- Missions completed on one side are locked out for both sides until the mission refreshes.
- There are two different types of missions: Boss mission and Supporting Character Missions.
- Boss Mission
- This is the first mission available when the event starts.
- The boss’ health at the top will go down based on the amount of damage you and your Alliance does to him, even if you lose the match.
- The mission pin will enter cooldown for 8 hours or until you beat one of the supporting Character Missions.Steve Rogers (Civil War)
Earth’s Mightiest Vigilantes - 0 Yellow AP
(PASSIVE) Captain America calls his allies to stand by his side. If Cap is the last member of his team and one does not already exist, creates a Fortified Countdown tile which adds Sam Wilson, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, or Winter Soldier to his team.
Shield Bash - 9 Red AP
Shield raised, Steve charges forward, deflecting incoming projectiles and smacking his enemy where it hurts. Deals damage to the target and creates Protect tiles.
(PASSIVE) Captain America cannot be stunned or sent airborne.
Coordinated Offensive - 7 Blue AP
Time to take the fight to them. Remove friendly Strike, Protect, and Attack tiles. For each tile removed, deal damage and grant allies a burst of health.
(PASSIVE) At the start of each turn, Captain America generates Red AP for each teammate.
- Supporting Character Missions
- 5 different missions that each have a different featured character. Each side has a "Team Cap" or "Team Iron Man" mission that will require any three characters with that affiliation.
- Completing these missions reduces the health of the boss at the top of the screen.
- Reset every 8 hours. The opponents change every time the mission resets.
- Completing a mission on one side locks out the mission on the other side.
- Boss Mission
- Once your Alliance defeats the boss by depleting his health bar, his health will reset and you’ll unlock the next round in the event. There are 8 rounds in all that your Alliance can complete.
- If your Alliance is able to complete all 8 rounds, you will earn a 5-Star cover of Steve Rogers (First Avenger).

17 minutes one dead iron man and here I am posting because I need to check my Internet connection again....
How many alliance events will it take for this not to be an issue during the event?
Is this why they don't get run much?
It's a shame because I was really enjoying myself0 -
So who are people using against Iron Man, or thinking about using when he scales? JG/Switch/ rotating third member for me so far. I was thinking down the line, 4* Thor since he drops charges tiles (for her red Smite to exploit) or maybe my Champ Kingpin to use the AP since its seems to be only yellow tiles getting charged (from the two times he did it).
Also, Girl Friday is Tony Stark's O face.0 -
For posterity's sake, here's what each sub node looked like for me:
Human Torch: MrF/HulkBuster/Fury
Sam Wilson: Survival node ( wasn't paying attention 1st pass, will update later, or add if someone else noted it.)
Winter Soldier: Survival node, same as above.
Scarlet Witch: Panther/ Fury/ Ragnarok, Beast/Phoenix/Antman
Steve Rogers: Prof X/ Phoenix/4* Cyke
The Thing: Sentry/Black Panther/Spy
Punisher - Hulk/Rags/Ares
Steve Rogers is going to have a tough, tough time in the later rounds, especially since Phoenix locks out Jean Grey.
05/06 - Updated with new nodes and other variations. i missed some last night because I wasn't home and did my 2nd clear from my phone.
UPDATE: Post scaling nodes, which for me, are all 250ish lvl right now.
Winter Solider: Hulk/Red Hulk/Shulkie
Sam Wilson: Colossus/Phoenix/Vision
Daredevil: Lt Medic/Cho Hulk/Commander
Human Torch: Survival Node - 5* Spidey/Panther/1* BW then 3*Cap Marvel/Shulkie/The Thing
S, Witch: Survival Node: 1st wave had Beast & 3* Cap Marvel but I can't remember the rest. I think the 2nd wave had 4* Cyke
Ironically enough, IM40 was the key to get through most of these for me.0 -
I used JG/SWitch/OML in round 4. Seems to work fine, gets rid of the other IMs he summons. Not sure how great it will be at later levels, or who I will switch to at that point.0
-
so far i've been using punisher, SWitch, AntMan and Falcon because those are the only ones i have championed. i have the others but not fully leveled.
probably going to need to TU boost + DP whales it up in the later rounds - good thing i got 280k DP points ready to burn.0 -
I'm using SWitch, Kamala Khan, and 3 Star Cyclops. Group moves seem like the best thing to use to get around House Party. (Thus Switch, and Kamala Khan) Then I just like Cyclops since he does a ton of damage. SWitch is also good since there's a chance reality crush will hit one of Iron Man's bots.0
-
I'm already on the 5th round. But I can not find an effective team. Have all 2* and 3* characters. What can you suggest?0

At higher rounds this team is useless because KK and Switch cancel eachother out and IM is immune to stun.0 -

I'm facing round 6 with OML (just yellow), Beast (lvl111) and Switch (boosted). Works quite well, you can avoid negating yellow and focus only on red and blue tiles.0
-
With my 3* roster, I've been using GSBW, Hulk (center) and Switch. Hulk takes all the damage and feeds GSBW green, Switch feeds her purple. Usually I have to use one Health Pack on Hulk after each boss battle but that's it. We're in round 5.0
-
Watch out for Girl Friday. Unless your strongest color is also Red, it condenses the board down to only 4 colors, making it even harder to deny yellow and blue.
Hmmm... But if my strongest is yellow, that would make House Party harder to get off as well.0 -
2*/3* roster here - and at least through round 5, I've had great success using Switch, GSBW and Hawkeye.
SW's blue feeding GSBW's purple - both setting off massive amounts of Hawkeye's Speed Shot - and then GSBW's Sniper Rifle to deal some good damage.
I only have SW's Reality Crush at 1, but she still works well as long as GSBW is in there.
You should try to deny IM's yellow as much as I can - but still smart to have a team with good AOE damage.0 -
Went with one of my older PVE teams: Cap, Hulk and Hook.
Hood is essential for AP steal and basically all colors are covered except blue (forsaking purple all together) to shield Hood.
His black helps with Cap's countdown timers and Hulk's green can shake the board of too many charge / yellow matches are available.
In round 5 I only had one issue with one of the worst cascading boards I've seen in a while.
I've also used Magneto, Wolverine X-Force and Iron Fist.0 -
In round 6, (my alliance will be round 7 on my next fresh this afternoon) I found Jean Grey/S Witch/Falcap to be the most reliable. I was able to complete it with Punisher in the Falcap spot, too for a quicker down, but it was health pack costly. Same with my OML, his healing at lvl 270 for 1/2/2 wasn't that great against a lvl 350 match damage, especially once the charged tiles got out.
So it looks like your big tactic should be to deny yellow so IM can't call in the drones. Falcap was a great third for this - He matches all of IM's colors so he could put that yellow and red to good use. Mine is at 5/1/5 now thanks to the rewards for this event, so his Dive Bomb is a great nuke if you got the protect tiles out. And those protect tiles help save the health packs too, I only have to really heal S. Witch.
Whoever you're using, you should plan to for an AOE attack to get around the drones if they do come out. S. Witch great for that, whether by herself or with a JG, or Red Hulk.
I'm just glad the drones don't have any other powers than taking hits for Tony, Repulser Punches from those HB drones would not be fun to deal with.0 -
My roster is mostly 3* characters. 17 of those are maxed/championed. The rest is still gathering more covers and ISO to level. I also have quite a few 4*s, but only XFW is kinda usable at 2/5/1.
I have not lost a match against IM yet, but it's come close (now in round 5). I really miss having IM40 as my Lcap battery!
I varied with teams a bit, trying to find the most efficient. Some ideas:- Lcap, GSBW, Mohawk - Black widow for AOE, Mohawk dropping attack tiles and has a quicker yellow than Lcap. Covers all colors, but is a bit squishy and may also be slow.
- Lcap, MNMags, Hawkeye - The idea was to have Magneto generate blue and red for El Capitan, and hawkeye gets speed shots in the process. Didn't work out as well as I had hoped. Also, no team damage (except through Hawkeyes vulnerable countdown) which can turn the match into a drag.
- Patch, Doom, [3rd] - Have Doom's traps cover as much purple as possible when you drop Berserker's rage, then start dishing out massive damage. Diabolical plot can be a finisher when you have the chance. Summon Demons for extra damage each turn. Might want to bring someone with AOE (like punisher who also has a green that can be used when there's too much 'open' purple)
- Punisher, Sam Wilson, [3rd] - Drop as many strike tiles as you can with Punisher's green, and get them boosted by matching yellow. Drop some of Falcon's protect tiles when you can.
- Hulk, GSBW, Hood - One of my old Galaktus teams. Useful, but since Iron Man doesn't dish out damage as constantly as Galaktus it may be harder to have his anger trigger.

i've been using kamala Khan, 3Thor and scarlet witch.
I deny yellow at all cost, thor's yellow feed his green (i use KK green only if he got a lucky yellow out). Scarlet witch feed purlple that KK can use to help deny the approriate color depending on the situation (you can chose the color that will be turned in green).
I've had great succes with this, but it's unfortunately not immune to bad cascade on his side. (A horribly long cascade managed to down my almost full heath thor...only with match and crit damage )0 -
And just like that, the scaling went from "Okay, a little easy, but the boss fights are fun!" to "Well, guess I'm done with this event".
*sigh*
Edit: Didn't we learn from Ultron and/or Galactus? Either the boss fights need to be hard or the nodes, but not both. Way to suck the fun out of a cool event.0 -
My boss timer hasn't reset yet, but I hae to laugh at the idea of sending my 3 cover Winter Soldier against lvl 250 Hulk/Red Hulk/She-Hulk.0

Just played that with my ONE BLUE cover Winter Soldier... that was not fun but my guess did end up paying off.... ("Wonder what would happen if I took Daken against Hulk"?)
Worked with Daken 3* and IF (both champ 167) and Bucky... Down She-Hulk with matches, ended up filling all the red tiles with strikes (between green match and firing IF green). It made this kind fun loop of: (a) Make green match (b) get more strikes (c) Hulk makes more green tiles .. which really just starts the cycle all over again. I just kept matching green, and luckly red just keep falling from the sky. I must have had 10+ stick tiles at some point.0
