And affiliations have been added with the update! I was expecting them to appear front and center, but as of now they're buried at the end of the character description page, after the list of all of their moves. So far the affiliations I see are 'Team Iron Man,' 'Team Cap,' 'Avengers,' 'Fantastic Four,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' 'Heroes,' and 'Villains.'

'X-Men' and any X-teams are conspicuously missing, which is a bummer. Wolverine doesn't even get an 'Avengers' affiliation. He is just 'Heroes.'

So while I'm excited about the Civil War dynamic, cutting out any non-MCU properties seems like it's just going to weaken the dynamic or make it largely useless after the Civil War event.

re: affiliations. It would be mighty interesting if D3 decides to offer events (especially pvp) where you would be REQUIRED to have all 3 characters from either Team Cap or IM, and fight against the other side. And if you don't have the required characters, you'll be stuck using LOANERS (all 3 members). icon_twisted.gif

2* Wolverine has the Avengers affiliation, which matches how he's been handled in Avengers boosted events. 4* is considered a member of X-Force but not X-Men (not that either is currently shown as an affiliation), and both 3* and 5* are loner phases.

This is a bit confusing, but that's the way it is.

Spider-Man is Heroes and Team IM in all versions, plus Avengers in 3* and Fantastic Four in 2*.

Also a bit surprising: Silver Surfer has a Team Iron Man affiliation. I'd have expected only Heroes on him, which would be the same as OML and Phoenix.

While it makes sense having the Dark Avengers siding with Team Iron Man, having the main villains of the game on one side may make the players choose the other side in more numbers.

Something else. IM40 has no affiliations in my screen. I play the game in spanish, so I don't know if it shows something in the english game.

English version here, IM 40 has no affiliations.

3* cap is obviously stated as "Team cap", so maybe an oversight?

    Odd.

It's really weird. When we were shown that Drax was team cap, I though that every character would fall under either affiliation for Civil War purposes, but it's not the case. I wonder why some random characters got those affiliations. Also no X-men category? Laying the rivalry with ox a bit thick there.

Well, after checking, most of my champed characters are team cap. So I think I will have to pick cap'n if it has to do with boosts.

Not sure if there is another reason for affiliations....

I just wanna know why in the name of tinykitty the Hulk is Team Iron Man.

I mean...did they just go "you know, we don't have enough Team Iron Man characters on the roster, let's throw him a bone?"

Because I'm reasonably sure that Hulk is absent in the upcoming movie, and he was exiled to deep space in the original comic event...

And Ares is a villain, yet on Team Iron Man...?

Thor is, properly, not affiliated, but She-Thor is (Team Cap)?

So Bag-Man counts as a member of the Fantastic Four for the purposes of Mr. Fantastic's yellow? Not that it'd be remotely worthwhile to run them together, mind...

He sure does! I'm proud to say I now use my champed Bagman almost everyday next to my champed Thing and recently champed Mister Fantastic (quiet, I like him!) in the Big Enchilada...it's really the only place left for fun team combinations in the game, so that's where I bust out the silly ideas that would never work for PvP and aren't strong enough to handle my lvl 300+ starting scaling in regular PvE

I do like to mix up my teams for the big enchilada. I usually use OML, but then I add in some rainbow colors from lower-tiered characters, just to change up my playing experience.

Yep, comic cannon. Ares was invited to the Mighty Avengers, led by Stark. Sentry too.

Ragnarok is another tagged as villain, with a clear team Iron Man story moment in the comic cannon.

Many villains became bounty hunters to track down anti government heros.

Don't know where the Lady Thor connection comes in though.

I haven't read that particular comic, but that looks to me like one in a long line of terrible Wonder Man/Simon Williams costumes.

    Correct, it is Wonder-Man.

    Moore"]Hi everyone,

We'll have more cool details arriving in the coming days."

I hope these "details" are not simply that we can add "X" character to our roster by playing in "X" event(s). You guys released a video explaining Galactus before it was released. Granted, it was a new format which merited some explanation, but I never understood the secrecy factor with MPQ. Why not tell us what to expect? Why not tell us what characters are coming and in what event, especially for characters which have been requested by players (except Cho...no one asked for him and it was probably best that you didn't try to hype him up before adding him). But seriously...give me something to look forward to! I have my tickets for the movie already...tell me when new content or characters are coming in MPQ for Civil War. A link to a Forbes article which tells us nothing is pointless. How about breaking your silence with some actual information?

    So...
While playing Angry Birds Epic, I just got an interstitial ad for MPQ.
    It was Civil War themed.
    Based on what I saw...
    - We are 100% getting Winter Soldier.
    - Iron Man and Captain America are getting either brand new characters, or current incarnations are getting updates to their character models that match the ones in the new title screen that replaced Totally Terrible Hulk. Which versions? who knows.
    - I thought I saw a new Captain America shield throw animation.
    - Some Team Up looking sequences happened with the likes of multiple characters from each Civil War faction doing attack animations one after the other, like Ant-Man & friends and then another one with Black Panther & friends. The two characters I noticed specifically. It presented like the animation when you use Nick Fury's Yellow.

Don't know what it all means, but it was a frantic video with lots of cuts/transitions so it was tricky to take it all in and fully see what all was going on.

I hope this post doesn't get deleted for being a "spoiler" because this information is in an ad that is out in the wild in a retail mobile game, so anyone can see this.

I can see war machine being a 4 character, also Winter soldier being a 5

My guess is Winter Soldier would be a 4 star, as the acquisition of 5 stars is completely 100% RNG only available from CP-purchased tokens.
It would be a **** Move to have the main tie-in character be inaccessible for 90% of the player base.

If anything, I'd see it the other way around, because War Machine isn't the focal point of the movie's story. A potential War Machine would be the 5 star character that sort of just appears along side the Civil War content. Sure, still a **** Move in some way (5 star acquisition still needs major work in general), but not as bad as Winter Solider due to his importance in the movie (from what I hear).
