AI making too many lucky chains

yep i've had a few pvp matches just like that. just as i get enough to finish her off at least with patch's green she just takes it all. last night in the heros tourney as a matter of fact. i was trying to push to at least get 2 loki covers and had that happen two times in a row and pushed me down to 3 ares covers instead.0

I only get screwed by AI cascades when it leads to K.O and I'm low on health packs but, I believe that falls under Murphy's Law.0
-
Hahaha I am getting really unlucky in Divine Champions. Oh boy here comes call the storm/wind storm.0

I have to post the flip side of this. I am getting some ridiculous chains in the Hulk event today. I had one vs a level 233 Hulk where I ended up with 4 multiplier tiles on the board when it finished. I've had a few monster chains today and they have been great.0

Destroying a large number of tiles at once is more likely to lead to better cascades than the same number of total tiles destroyed spread between those turns, even if the opponent is completely stunned. You can tell that the optimal number to get a great chain is around 10 (use Storm if you need to be convinced). The AI's choice to destroy 8 tiles at once with a match 4 over a 5+3 or 5+3+3 (if the M automatched) for the typical outcome of a match 5 that isn't a row/column probably gives it better chance for hitting a big cascade even if it gets slightly less AP/damage overall.
Even small, seemingly trivial chains like say match 3 yellow to cascade into 3 environmental tiles is far more likely to lead to something good than doing the two separately, since if you do it separately, the enemy gets a turn in between to either screw up your plan, or worse yet they may just take the good move you have.0 -
Ugh. I just had a game that in 2 In a row a 115 rag, dakon, and yalena just beat my entire team by turn 5. A 100'patch, 70ishmpunisher I think, and 85 obw. It's one thing for them to get a few but so consistently it just wipe you out like that and burn all your health packs is just stupid and not fun0

And as we know, all the best cascades come right after you've defeated your opponent.0

I have actually noticed a bit of an uptick with them too. But just lately. Mainly in the hulk event. They get a cascade going that goes on and on, actually, completely wiped out panther, who at the time, had over 4,500 health. Just took him out like he was nothing. Facing Rags numerous times today/last night, never seemed to fail that he had endless amount of ap, I mean one special ability after the other, back to back to back, etc.
It is a pain when it happens, but just noticed the last few days seem more likely to happen than not.
But, I'm less worried about this than making it through crazy matches like that and only getting 20 iso, which I've gotten 90% of all of my matches in the last 24 hours. And there have been a lot of them.0 -
I notice that almost every move the AI make results in over a 3 chain. I also notice that the AI will just come up with AP out of nowhere. I watch ***spideys blue intake and even it says he only has 3 and never gains another blue he will still stun out my team over 3-4 turns and I have no idea where the extra AP comes from. its the same with one of the hulk missions where the hulk only had 9 red AP at the end of my turn and used smash to kill my OBW then all of a sudden had 18 red after that. Idk if anyone else has had this problem but it happens to me often and I'm about done with this game because of it.0

Spider-Man's stun move requires from 6 down to 2 AP depending on his level in blue. The Hulk's Smash doesn't vary, though.0 -

That just strikes me as you not paying proper attention to it.0

I once wiped out two level 230 characters with one seemingly infinite cascade.
it happens0 -
AI always seem to have good luck with venom setting up cascades with just his one turn stun leading to a devour.0

Kaine wrote:I know, my point is that with only 3 AP and not getting anymore from any other source spidey was using his blue for the next 4 turns which would use a min of 8 blue AP which is 5 more than what he had. As for Hulk it takes 14 to do smash and I checked his AP before making a match and he had 9 Red AP and he used Smash on me then made a 4 red match then it said he had 18 on my next turn. It's like the AI is gaining AP out of nowhere.
RTFC: Spiderman stuns for the number of turns equal to the web tiles. So if 3 web tiles already out for the same 3AP he stuns for 4 turns.
The AP display of the AI is delayed. Say it starts using Rag's abilities: from cascades it gets AP that makes the other abilities flash and it may activate them too, but the AP totals on top are only updated once after the turn is done. That does not mean the AP is not obtained honestly.0 -
My turn to be an argumentative prick again to the developers - not based on math, but 5 solid months of MPQ under my belt - there's definitely an increase in AI cascades in the past week. No question - not selective memory - I killz me some goonz with cascades out the yazoo and remember them quite well too, but I've never been hit with the ferocity of cascades as I have during The Hulk this time around.
If the AI was tweaked, ICEIX, just verify that fact so we can move on. As long as the AI doesn't stop preferring environmental tiles, **** 4-way matches, and easy-to-reach crits - I for one don't have a problem with it. I just don't buy the "we haven't touched this part of the code" argument one bit if that's your stance. If someone committed code that didn't make it into the change list, you should know about that too. "Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K."

LOL. "No question, it's not selective memory." Except that it is.
You're an idiot.0 -
I heard rumours of a legend that occasionally the Ai will make a match3...and that's it. No drop into another match, just three gems gone.
I scoffed and told them that they were fools0 -
