How many clears seems reasonable to win 25 cp from 7-day pve

I calculated the clears required to hit 25 cp for this latest 7-day pve. Since the goal is 104,000 points, and each node gives around an 500 points, then it's a total of 104,000 / 500 = 208 clears. At 3 minutes per clear, that's 208 x 3 minutes = 624 minutes = 624 / 60 = 10.5 hours, which comes out to 1.5 hours a day.

Does that seem reasonable? Too much? Too little? Are my calculations correct?

Maybe the average is more like 400 points?

In which case, it's 260 clears, 780 minutes, 13 hours, ~2 hours per day.

Anyway it seems like it took forever, and I'm sick of it. I might not actually make it all the way. I might get close and then not get it at all, which is the worst icon_e_sad.gif

I'm not sure about the math, but I feel like 1 to 1.5 hours per day should be enough to get 25 cp. I'm definitely burning out on prodigal sun though, and it's making me want to abandon pve (other than maybe getting 2cp per day).

I'm nowhere near averaging 3 minutes per clear. Maybe if I had all of the boosted 4* characters covered (or even all of the boosted 3* characters championed) I'd be able to do it a lot faster but I'm estimating it was a 3 hour a day commitment to get the 25 CP. I was shooting for top 50 (got the CP at the end of day 5) and I think I invested about 4 hours a day. If I had not really wanted a blue Falcon cover I'd have given up playing this test.

Just FYI, you may encounter some confusion with your use of the term "clears". As I have seen it, 99% of the forum users refer to a "clear" as beating all nodes of a sub one time. You're calling a "clear" a single node win.

Okay, what do you call beating a single node then? Is there a single-word term for that?

Old PvE system, "battle". New PvE system, "crotchpunch".

I was confused as well, but the way I looked at it was: I'd love for it to be about 3 clears of the 9 main nodes/day. that's 27/day. that totals 189 for the event. add in some main page nodes and one-timers and up to 200 is what I'd shoot for. especially now that there are no "fast", truly trivial nodes (30-70 level range).

The bigger issue is why is it only 25cp when we earn 50cp/week when there are 3 & 4 day events.

I mean it's simple really... it's why most people dislike 7 day events....no one likes doing double the work for the same pay.

Wrong question OP. The correct question is, how many days seems reasonable for an event that rewards you with 25 CPs for max progression? 3 is the best answer with no more than 4 being acceptable.

I had the exact same reasoning. Usually takes me about 30 minutes/clear so 1.5 hours/day seems reasonable.

    there what 9 nodes x 3 per day 27x 7 is 49 + 140 = 199 hell i cant do math

You could understand them not wanting to give out two LT's in an event in the past, but now it is CP, they could easily up it to at least 35.

Alternatively, they should bung a 4* cover into the progression awards, the essential for the current event like they do with the other essentials would seem like an obvious one.

The devs tell us that they value 25 cp at the price of 3 days of clearing the nodes 3 times (regular pve before the test). Occasionally they want us to pay 4 days for it but sometimes 7. Tinykitty that. I will pay with my time when it's 3 days. I will consider when it's 4. I refuse to do it when it's 7. And in the new system I takes more than 3 clears. No thanks

I look at it this way if you do 3 clears of 10 nodes that is 30 clears per sub. Easy math 30X7 is 210 clears. If you make it 225 clears that is a little more than 3 clears per sub but less than a full 4 clears. 40X7 is 280clears. 225 would also take into the node to unlock the sub or those dam close out nodes like in FL sub. 200 clears is less than 3 full clears and is fairly easy.

Also 7 day PVE should be 50CP like RBdragon said

Well, I didn't try to figure out how many clears were needed to get the 104,000. Since it was a week long event, I just divided it into "how many points would I need for each day" which came to 15,000. I knew that for the earlier nodes that the point values would be lower but after 5 rounds (not clears) on day one, I had about 9,500 points. Again, knowing that the later nodes would be higher points, I figured maybe going 6 rounds would be enough to get the 25 CP. Started the last day with 100,00 points so making the 25 was no problem.

Most confusing poll ever.. a "clear" is finishing a full round of defeating each node in a sub once.. typically 9 nodes = 1 clear..

Back on topic.. I went 7/7 on all nodes (7th downing of each node was immediately after 6th, so did not wait for points to be full again), including the starter nodes, and of course adding in the points from the one time nodes. This netted me 180,383 points.

This would mean you need to do 57% of what i described above to reach the CP, a little over half, probably less, of the available reward fights (anything after 7 is points only), taking into account that all nodes would be at full points instead of the lower points i got for doing fight 7 immediately.

How does that answer the question in the OP?

We know how many clears it _takes_, but how many _should_ it take?

I wasn't able to do more than 3 clears on the first three subs, so I've had to make up for it by doing at least 6 clears on the remaining four. Because the later subs are worth more points, I'm on track to get the final progression reward (8k away from 104k right now).

I agree with the earlier points made by others - why is the final progression reward for a 7-day event the same as for a 3- or 4-day event, when we're putting in up to twice the amount of work to get there? (And even more under the new system, where three clears per day is no longer sufficient.)

I'm sorry for saying "Clear" instead of "Node Completion". Everybody just chill out icon_lol.gif

Also, due to the new PVE, I don't do "Clears" anyway. I only finish the most challenging nodes, as those are worth 2 - 3 times as many points as the "Easy" nodes, which are actually just as hard. So there's little reason to do the "Easy" nodes any more, as they're challenging, draining and give terrible prizes and low points.

I used to love doing the "Easy" nodes, now I hate them with a passion!! They're time-consuming, health-pack consuming and useless!

And thus I don't do any full clears. I just drain all the toughest nodes in order to get the most points for the time spent.

Thus "Node Drain Time Waste Finishes", or whatever you'd like to call it.

I hit max progression on Prodigal Sun as the 7th sub was opening. I went 7/7 on the 6 hard nodes only (I can't be bothered with 70 iso), without waiting on the timer for the 7th fight. I have a champ Rhulk so it was fast and easy, but it was still tedious as hell. Some weeks I have no boosted 4*'s and if this week was one of those weeks, I probably would have stopped playing by day 4.

I think 3-4 full clears or 4-5 clears on the 6 hardest nodes would be nice without me being too greedy. Rewards adjusted to 4-5 of course.

I`d say 2 full clears per sub should get max progression, but that would cater to the masses and we can't have that now can we?! icon_lol.gif
