  • Some of you are aware this is not a tryout for "Who wants to be the Mod?" right? icon_rolleyes.gif
Save your resumes and acceptance speeches. Your just posting a troll thread.

    Fully aware, thanks.

I merely expressed that if asked I would do this. I don't like forum spam.

But let me qualify my expression further; I don't actually want to do it. This forum doesn't really need much in the way of moderation.
  • I'd do the role, as I've been a moderator on a huge UK forum for a number of years. I very much agree that having some extra moderators, even if it's just to clean up the spam and keep the trolls in check, is a very good idea. Bad behaviour isn't actually a big issue here though, it's generally the best behaved forum I go on.

I've modded forums for years, this forum is one of the very few I've been involved with that actually does not require a lot of moderation.

Exactly. Cleaning spam ads. Blatant bypasses. And locking copy threads.

Generally, yeah icon_e_smile.gif just that almost nothing gets done when it pops up icon_e_sad.gif

If you can manage to slow the world's spin so that I can get an extra hour or so in the day, I'll be right on some of that. Of course, it'd probably result in tidal shifts and the Earth spinning off into space or the sun, but... better moderated forums in the meantime!

In general though, we're looking at some internal changes to some workloads that may help with some of this without having to use community mods. We're not against community mods, but there are some people on the team that have had poor interactions on past projects/companies that means there are hurdles to overcome first.

    Get out of here red.

Indeed. ****-kissers can openly post off-topic and troll someone else without getting sanctions.

I can't even begin to describe the sheer stupidity of advocating forum policing, while posting off-topic in a forum meant for game discussion, and trolling at a targetted person at the same time.

It has to be an intentional troll. After all, there is no way that the poster could possibly be stupid enough to not notice his own irony.

    Right?

    Right?

Easy... Did you see the links I posted for you? Read up and tell me what you think.

Oh dw Ice, I wasn't expecting you to. I'm sure most of us would rather just ignore the idiots for now than decrease your time spent on constructive things.

Appreciate the info on the company position, and it's completely understandable - although, from a time/effort perspective managing 2-3 volunteers is probably considerably easier than doing the work of said 2-3 volunteers yourself icon_e_wink.gif

    Right?

Apparently I was wrong. It is possible.

Don't need to mock you, muffin, you're already doing an outstanding job of it by yourself
  • An ****-kisser wants to mock a complainer. I wonder what next.

Enough of this. I'm tired of the attacks. Please enjoy a break till Sunday.

As another note, I'm passing out a couple other breaks from other threads as well, so it's not just this. It's just overall uncalled for.
  • Can use moderators. This is growing way to fast for 1 or 2 who check once in a while. Heck I dunt even read everything anymore.
