When I read the title I figured this was another quiting thread, because that is the only way you will ever not need Iso...

I would need millions to max everyone, but that isn't really necessary.

Every part of this is true, and every part is sad.

You need way, way more ISO than you'll ever get. Solution - ISO needs to increase (and has needed to for a long time)
You don't need any more ISO, the bad 4*'s are bad. Solution - Bad 4*'s need a buff (and have needed for a long time)

I wouldn't say that it's because the other 4*'s are bad, exactly (except Chulk because trolololol Chulk). Kingpin, for instance, is really solid, I just don't have him fully covered so he wasn't a priority.

The only ones besides Chulk that really seem in need of tweaking, in my opinion, are Xforce Wolverine and Invisible Woman. The characters that are always trotted out as "bad" are bad for pvp because they lack big, match-ending nukes that minimize time spent unshielded (Reed, Elektra). For PVE they are often fine.

As for the inability to max all characters, I'm not sure I mind that so much. If I could just max everything, there wouldn't be anything to shoot for. I do agree that the ISO flow should be a little more generous, but just a little.

Kingpin is pretty strong, anyone who says otherwise hasn't test driven him enough. He is a great mix of offense/defense with his purple that is extremely helpful. While some of the 4*s are plainly worse than others, the buffs (especially upping it to 4 characters per week) has made this somewhat irrelevant I am noticing. At 350 almost anything becomes scary/time consuming compared to a 270.

For instance I am curious who would fight something like a 350 X-Force over a 270 Hulkbuster? I would rather fight the Hulkbuster, because X-Force will insta-gib any of your characters with his black, and his green actually stings while possibly causing cascades that can ruin you.

I feel like this has made it more important to "max em all" so that you can have a buffed 4* for the week. Having the best 4*s maxed helps when they are not buffed somewhat, but I don't hesitate to take down Jean-busters with any buffed 4*s. The difference in power is just staggering.

This of course just exacerbates the ISO shortage 4* rosters are feeling icon_e_confused.gif

Once I set up my roster in the Apex cover tracker and saw just how much ISO I needed, I started to understand why they don't give you the true number on the max level button...

Yeah, I need 5 million ISO just to max the characters i want to max, let alone all the others.

I didn't leave a medium level and should have - certainly there is a medium tier that is worth leveling - if you can find the ISO. I have max covered KP and Carnage for example - great when boosted, but just not worth leveling over the top five-seven. I'll probably try DPXF and Thing before either of them - also in the medium tier.

Totally agree with you here Dauthi - the problem becomes you -should- max the 2nd tier 4*'s, who will be fantastic when boosted. But as others have pointed out - even leveling half the characters is difficult at best. [However, your 350 XF over 270 HB I've tried in many, many PVP's....folks seem to love hitting that XF first!]

Also have to agree with Jarvind - we often consider these "bad" because we think PVP and they have PVE uses. It's just once you are in 4* land, it seems easier to obtain rewards through PVP so you put your resources there first.

...All of this seems to be saying we need more ISO to run both events. More ISO?

Also: more fixing of bad characters? I mean - it must be easy to simply filter * level and take a little glance and see that Jean/Rhulk/HB/Cyc/Ice are by far the most played. I've see lots less of those second two lately - mostly just the first three. Any time I can see a max 4* team and say "Horry! Easy hit!" (Like XF/GT....) - something is wrong.

But it can be accomplished by buffs! I'm sure if you filted by 3* Iron Man went from bottom five played to top 5 (I'll stop myself from saying #1 because some may not have maxed him yet.) Buffs can breathe life into old characters that were ignored, and excite folks in the game!

More ISO alone would simply flow into the same characters (or make folks complain that they can't get those specific needed characters). Make them all feel more desired!

I agree with you about Kingpin. He can be a real pain (mine isn't high enough level to play, alas).

At a little above 350 (somewhere in 360-370 range), the character is twice as good - that is to say, has twice the hp and does double the damage with powers - as the same character at 270. I'm not sure XFW is a terribly good example, though; even boosted, he's one of the ones (of those you're likely to see) that I don't think twice about hitting.

Hulkbuster, for instance, I wouldn't want to hit at 350 if my own wasn't championed (I did a 40k one-shot KO on a 383 or so one the other day with mine. Screenshot: https://www.instagram.com/p/BERl2pGm90k/).

I haven't had a real need for ISO since my 5* became usable and soft capped.

Sometimes I max a featured 3* character out of boredom.

wow, not even ice, rulk and cyke? I guess the 5s really change your perspective.

Nope. Even boosted they don't compete. Their health and ability damage come close, but their match damage always falls behind.

That's a big reason I am holding off on leveling my fivestars. Doesn't seem that fun to have to rely on them all the time.

It makes the game less grindy which is more fun fo me so it's working out. Maxing 3* is more important now really since they're featured in PVP. It's not going to make a huge difference but it could be enough to eek out a win in some matches.

I already have all threestars championed, and it's quite nice to get rewards from them all. I can't keep leveling fourstars indefinitely (up to 16 now, getting number 17 up soon...) So I imagine I will move to fivestar land soon. Would like it to be a bit more populated first though...
