For the first time, I don't need any iso

What a weird feeling this is. It's been months since I haven't had someone to level up, but I just took care of my last, and least important 3 star and am good to go. Now I can wait until I start casually getting a needed four star now and again and watch my 50,000 surplus deplete almost instantaneously...

Nice! I'm starting to see the end of fourstar leveling myself, but once I'm done there I'll move on to fivestar land...0

I've been this way for awhile now. I have more ISO now than at any previous point in the game. Largely because I have run out of useful things to spend it on. My move from 3* to 4* is really slow. I have lots of 4*s, just very few with anything close to usable covers. If I could get more, less random covers, I would be set.0
-
Honestly I'm iso dry. Also made the poor decision to max out Ant Man because he is my favorite usable character, so my scaling is skewed.0
-
Meanwhile, I have several fully covered 4*s and no ISO to level any of them. My spreadsheet says that I need over 4 million ISO to get everyone to their current maximums.0

While it may seem insurmountable, when your roster gets stronger you get a snowball effect and can pull in more ISO too. As mentioned above, I can see myself move out of fourstar land and into five star territory soon.0 -
I'm champing all my 3*s just because. It will be nice having a use for all the 3* cover rewards I get, and having the featured PvP character maxed every event will just make things that much easier.0
-
Really?
Because I always seem to be racing the clock to gather enough Iso to champ the next 4* before the cover in my inventory expires.0 -
I need 2.5 million iso to champ all my max-covered 4* characters.. but I'll get there when I get there. Also most of the fully max-covered 4*s are lower-tier characters at this point, so it doesn't really matter... Mr. F, Flaptain, KP-- I've already champed rhulk, jg, thor, hb, carnage and others.
Selling all my 4* characters when I don't have enough ISO to champ anyone was a good idea. Even though I lose out on a few covers, it feels great to be able to use the sell-all button instead of needing to sell each 1* one at a time. And it's much less stressful to see a bunch of 4*s, slowly dying on the vine.
Now I need to get some ISO to level up TAH for his DDQ0 -

This is about where I am (except that I need over 6M ISO for current maxes). I'm just championing one 4* at a time, and occasionally throwing a little ISO at my 5*s. A slow process, to be sure, but it does feel like progress. If slow.0 -

Obviously you need to be smart in who to prioritize and when you should open your legendary tokens, but I definitely feel I am over the hump at this Point with more than half of all fourstars championed...0 -
I was convinced the punchline to the subject header was going to be, "... because I just quit"0

To be fair, I do see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I've champed Xpool, JG, HB, Rulk, 4clops, Kingpin, and Thoress.
My unicorn has been Iceman, but I finally got my last cover for him, only to be followed by an additional pull, so the race is on!
After that, Thing. And while I have 20 of 28 4*s cover maxed, other than maybe Ant-Man or Ghost Rider, or maybe X-23, I'm not sure I care about leveling any others above where they are now.
For the current DDQ cycle, I've managed to win almost every one so far with where my roster is currently leveled (didn't win Flaptain, but he's better covered now). Chulk is TBA. He's max covered, but I'm not sure I'm willing to pump him too full of iso (he's still at 70). But it's a good feeling to know I won't have to level any of them up on the next cycle, so that will help with the iso savings.
Beyond all of the above, the next thing left is to start leveling OML. I put 5 levels into him before that extra Ice-man cover fell from the hands of RNGesus and changed my plans.0 -

Maybe I should give up competitive pve. Getting the bi-weekly new characters just means I keep sinking deeper into the mire of iso debt. The only way out is to stop.0 -
I came in here and assumed it was a quitting thread...
I'm probably ready to do my last two 3*'s, and only have one more 4* that I can move into DDQ-able range (I park them all at 172 for that). I have all the top-tier 4*'s either maxed or well below 13 covers. If I could move my one decent 5* from 300 to 390 I wouldn't be in desperate need of ISO....
...but never would I not "need" any iso. It is really, REALLY handy to have a maxed 4* every event - and if you can have two it is fantastic.0 -

Similar boat here. I don't have a ton of champs, but I have a lot of the top end 4*s champed: Teen Jean, Hulkpuncher, IceGollum, DPXF, Thoress, X23, 4Clops, and Red Hulk.
It's gotten rid of a lot of the ISO scramble since I usually have at least one boosted champed 4* per event. I crossed 200k ISO banked for the first time this week. I would need millions to max everyone, but that isn't really necessary.0 -

Every part of this is true, and every part is sad.
You need way, way more ISO than you'll ever get. Solution - ISO needs to increase (and has needed to for a long time)
You don't need any more ISO, the bad 4*'s are bad. Solution - Bad 4*'s need a buff (and have needed for a long time)0 -
I remember having that issue in the two to three star transition, ages ago. My daughter's still there. I was contemplating trying to max a 4* the other day, and she said it was too bad she couldn't lend me her ISO, since she didn't need it.
My reply was "You don't understand. You have tens of thousands of extra ISO, but maxing this character would require hundreds of thousands." She gave me a look of horrified disbelief before confirming that by looking at my screen.0 -
Once I set up my roster in the Apex cover tracker and saw just how much ISO I needed, I started to understand why they don't give you the true number on the max level button...0

I wouldn't say that it's because the other 4*'s are bad, exactly (except Chulk because trolololol Chulk). Kingpin, for instance, is really solid, I just don't have him fully covered so he wasn't a priority.
The only ones besides Chulk that really seem in need of tweaking, in my opinion, are Xforce Wolverine and Invisible Woman. The characters that are always trotted out as "bad" are bad for pvp because they lack big, match-ending nukes that minimize time spent unshielded (Reed, Elektra). For PVE they are often fine.
As for the inability to max all characters, I'm not sure I mind that so much. If I could just max everything, there wouldn't be anything to shoot for. I do agree that the ISO flow should be a little more generous, but just a little.0
