So this current subnode in the Howard event has the Kingpin/Hood/Muscle laying the smackdown on us in Exit, Stage Right. Took me three times to finally beat it the first time. In your opinion which PvE single node has been the hardest to beat, let alone grind?

Ive been using OML/XDP/Loki, gimme my AP back.. and i will take those strikes while i'm at it.

Wiped a few different teams, but seem to have a decent thing going now with 3Hulk/3Mags/Loki. Just took several very long, drawn out turns. Using Hulk over XFW/Mohawk just so I have someone who can take a hit or two in case.

Not an issue any more, but I can remember that I chew on Ragnarok node in prologe for some time in early days a year ago icon_e_smile.gif

Nostalgia points for this one. I do remember my baby 2*s getting crushed by that guy many times.

That node isn't the worst ever, it's just very starting board specific. If you can get 6 yellow with IM40, in two turns you are stunning KP with Thoress Blue. Then immediately obliterating Hood with her red. Then you have two to three turns to stun the goon.

Lather, rinse, repeat. All baddies should be dead within 2 turns of the initial stun if charge tile placement is optimal.

    However...

If you start with no yellow... Ugh... Health pack.... Ugh...

She's one of the oldest 4*s but I barely have any cards for Thoress. I've been getting by with 3* Cap, but it's all contingent on getting those yellows for IM40...

Had to play that node three times for the CP after writing my last comment (for a total of 5 wins, one loss).

Wiped bad the first time. Really bad, like, did they remove yellow from the game bad.

Second two tries worked fairly well, yet still no yellow. Got lucky with some blue cascades and jump started my own Thoress engine without the IM40 key.

OML/IF/SW is doing work for me this PvE even though I'm not grinding much. It helps that my OML is at 3/3/5 level 420 though. Would hate to have to do this node without a strong 5*

Mine are sitting at level 326, just won it with Ant-Man (lvl 150), Ghost Rider (lvl 150), PX (lvl 166).. lots of good fun teams can beat this. I also beat it with OBW/Psylocke (champ lvl 189), and IF (champ lvl 177).

If the board is hard, instead of wasting health packs on your A teams that you need for other boards.. have fun with it! Throw everything you have at it. Next i will try 3* Marvel (she will be champed shortly, have 1 cover from todays ddq to add when i finish), KK,, Quake (2/3/2 lvl 100).. why not? no big deal if i lose, 80 more chars to throw at it.

Also, Cascade Kings works very well against them (XFW, Loki, Cmags)

Tried it three or four times now, didn't have trouble. I was using switch px, and hb for clearing nodes, so that was my first few times doing this one. I wanted to try some other teams so I could have a more realistic impression of the difficulty, so I beat it with Loki, Mohawk, and Daken. Now I'll try IF and something else fun.

Generally, I'd say passives, rainbows, and/or cheap stuns are the way to go against difficult hood or IF fights. As others have pointed out, the IM40 team has a clear potential weakness that might make you lose a few extra games from bad boards.

Oh, maybe I'll try Hulk, Daken, and... Hmm.. Any black yellow purple suggestions? Clearly Fisk is out.

I haven't tried this one yet, but I have a hard time thinking it could be nastier than Carnage+Venom+symbiote feeder. Or Carnage+two symbiotes. Eating Carnage's red every third turn, or however stupid often it is, is just about the pinnacle of "Buy health packs, suckers!" in this game.

He's the only character with those 3 active powers.. except Green Goblin?

icon_greengoblin.png works, willl have to try him, even though he is only 1/1/1

Ok, hulk Daken bp was no good. Needed some sort of attack tiles to go with Daken to whittle down Wilson.

Why Hulk? His Passive is ok, but his actives are overcosted which is terrible against Hood. Daken, IF, Cyclops is a good rainbow team with 3 cheap actives with possibility of cascade plus free damage in the form of strike and attack tiles.

Also, I have had no problems with winfinite in that node. The one with Bullseye and Hoods has proven a bit more difficult, in fact.

Hmmm. Haven't failed the node yet with Scarlett Witch, Teen Jean and gosh, I don't remember who I used as my third, HB probably? Smash Hood asap, then spam Jean's purple, keeping the board clear of CDs.

Got the cp on the first try on that node, glad I don't have to play that one over and over.

I've been having pretty good luck with 3* Daken, SW, and Blade. Try to let Daken eat the poke/CD damage while waiting for SW's blue tile to pop. And you tend to get plenty of strike tiles from Daken for matching green or Blade from just having enough red tiles to help in downing Hood (he goes down to match damage before I can accumulate enough AP to use powers usually).

After Hood is down, go after KP or the goon next (I tend to go after KP since he's got that annoying drain). If you have to match your own SW tile to get it in a better position, having the blue AP isn't bad since you can use Daken's Chemical Reaction. When you get enough purple, you can decide whether to AoE with SW's Reality Crush or the attack tiles from Blade's Keep Your Enemies Closer if you have enough strike tiles up.

Since Daken and SW are boosted, they tank all of Blade's colors so he won't take any damage. I only have to use a health pack on SW since you can just regen Daken's health in an easy node.

I brought Moonstone just for tanking and stealing the attack tiles. She does the jobs pretty well. (I literally have no other better usable choice for tiles stealer.) Fun fact, my Moonstone boosted to Lv190 with 13K health, 500 more than Lv 270 SS.

I've been getting it to work with IM40/SWitch/Deadpool. Deadpool does all the work, gets fed red from IM40 and purple from SWitch. It takes a few turns to set up and if the board is deprived of yellow, purple, or red it's a 50/50. Target Hood first until he's below the whale threshold, then hit KP with matches and ALOTT before firing the whales. If you're fortunate you've got enough red to also whittle down the muscle beforehand, but usually it's a mop-up scenario.

My nodes were at lvl 242. I barely beat it with a championed XForce Wolverine, Champion Iron Fist and CapFalcon

Hood is annoying as an enemy in PVE but whenever it coincides with a buffed Daken, it becomes trivial. Just match green and even if your AP is stolen to 0, you'll snuff his tiny amount of HP with strike tile damage. Moreover, grabbing 5 blue for a finishing 3k damage Chemical Reaction is not that hard, even with the stealing.

This. Daken can take Hood down quickly.
