I do think we need a different variety of enemies in PvE. How about the same story from the DA point of view?

As a villain sympathist, I'd love to see this. Not just in MPQ, but video games in general - why do we always have to be the hero who saves the day? I love playing villainous characters in games like Skyrim. I struggle to see how they would make it viable in the sense of this games storyline though. icon_e_confused.gif
I always chose Dark Side in KOTORs

Been playing for almost 3 months now and it's been fun
But it's just starting to dawn on me just how repetitive the game is, when you think about it it's just a match 3 game with a couple of extra mechanics
It went from something fun and new to what now feels like just a chore and a grind

How are all the other older players holding up? What keeps you going? Is it still fun or is it just the commitment and addiction?

When the game gets that way (a chore and a grind), put it down for a bit. I've gotten restless a few times over the past 6 weeks, a break from the game has done me the world of good. It's hard to be selective and keep up, but I've managed to find the right balance. Actually enjoyed playing the Lightning Rounds last night, have barely touched them since Christmas.

Walkyourpath is right as well, this community is pretty awesome. I've been registered on many forums over the years and most are full of snark, sarcasm and downright rudeness - don't see much of that here, and the discussion is all the better for it. It's a nice companion to the game. icon_e_smile.gif

Yes... I keep wondering how this guy name "jim richey" did it??not a cheater right?? Since he can join alliance. Check it out in "savages" team.

Yeah that guy was clogging up my PvP nodes in back to back tournaments the elite one and whatever one was running concurrently was really annoying. Ban Hammer pls.

He is the player I reported yesterday. The all maxed out roster (literally every character in the game) is one thing, but the alarm bells start ringing for me when you don't recognise a name. Someone with a roster that strong, you'd have expected to see at the top table for a while.

As I wrote on the Facebook group, I did not flat out accuse the guy of cheating, but I've asked the devs to investigate all the same. I'd like to think I have a pretty decent feel for what is possible from a big spending player, having done that myself!

Most likely using some kind of HP + ISO hack.

Even an old player would need to spend a thousand bucks at least to get that kind of stuff.

He's either cheating, or he has a bottomless wallet.

That's what I'm thinking - I'd have to spend hundreds, maybe even a grand or so to get all of my characters to that level. Not totally inconceivable that someone could do that, but unlikely. I mean, who spends money to level up Bagman?! icon_rolleyes.gif
  • I've gone from playing 4 hours a day to just one round to get my daily (hulk tomorrow!). PvE community scaling broke me. If other people beating a match hundreds of times (the whole community, not just one guy) raises the level of my nodes before I even wake up...um sorry no. The whole idea of it is distasteful to me. I'll check out the forums to see if hulk has scaling, otherwise Marvel Heroes is taking my time and probably my money.
  • Strange, I had been thinking only last night of starting a similar topic, this game is rapidly losing the fun aspect for me for 3 reasons mainly, the biggest one being the Skip tax, the other two are the ridiculous and unnecessary 20 iso rewards and the equally ridiculous overlong healing times of characters.

Skip tax and healing times are connected because the main reason I object to the tax isnt because I cant find opponents of a reasonable level (although that would obviously be nice) but it's more that after a challenging match, even if i win I have heroes out of action for hours and hours. I realise the devs are doing this on purpose to force me to buy Health packs but at 50HP for one pack they have got to be dreaming if they think I will do that!
Having my heroes downed for hours means I cant play and clearly that isnt fun, before the skip tax i could skip around to find matches I thought i could win (didnt always work) and minimise my injuries and down time and so keep playing, not to be super competitive but purely because i enjoy playing not sitting and watching.
This could be solved as other people have said by having characters heal fully between matches or by reducing the down time in half at least.

And as for my other reason, the 20 ISO rewards, well that speaks for itself - it's just pointless and only there to falsely extend the game and encourage more buying of health packs (the more times you have to play a mission, the more you will need healing)

Get rid of health packs and healing times, also banish the 20 iso rewards at least till after a player has earned the 4 stated rewards. That would make the game more fun for me.

Think I'm getting a bit burned out with this game right now.
Looks like I might take the weekend off... hope that would still be good to get the new Thor covers if I do...
    Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Curse you MPQ and appealing to my compulsive nature.

I have to admit that burning through the PVE while chars were scaling 14 -> 17 -> 30, etc was a TON of fun. Then they jumped to 230 and I realized that this is going to be another PVE that is broken for the midlevels and I dont have the time to push through to the upper tier. I used to really enjoy the PVE, but the PVP now holds MUCH more interest for me since its far less broken. My need for a game to play for a few minutes here and there means Ill probably play a little during PVP lulls.
  • The only reason I can think of explain some of those rosters I see is money laundering, as in your crime boss just gave you a million dollars for a job well done but you can't easily spent that without leaving a trail so you figure what the heck, I'll buy $100K worth of iso8s instead because I like playing MPQ and the cops probably won't be looking for the money here.

I posted a few days ago trying to start a conversation about what it would take for people to stop playing. I really like playing this game when I am winning, I like it a lot when I lose a good close match. I get tired though of playing against the same characters and I cannot stand that everyone has a maxed out OBW. I am discouraged that we have another Hulk event and even more by the discussion of a new Thor character. I dunno. Maybe the devs made a mistake setting a game around the whole Dark Reign portion instead of just straightup Marvel. So many other characters and story lines (does anyone really care about the story?) would be possible.

He must have been banned. He was in my BP PvP event bracket hovering in the top 3 most of the day yesterday and later in the evening he disappeared from the list. The delta between his points and those that the 10th place player had wouldn't have made it possible that either he was knocked down the list or somehow tanked his way down.

    Nope. Couldn't care less.

I said during the Brotherhood event that I'm also sick to death of the same old DA battles, especially when they're at 230. We need more variety. Give us badguys who aren't goons and who aren't available for our roster. True boss fights. Imagine going up against Fin Fang Foom. Or Apocalypse. Epic.

We're big boys and girls, we can handle not being able to own everything.

    Re: Money Laundering in General

I used to work in an environment where credit card fraud and related money laundering was a HUGE problem. Identity Theft was the precursor for credit card fraud and once the fraud started, people would be spending those bad cards like you wouldn't believe - buying high end products, buying gift cards in bulk, etc. And yes, though some of it got spent (in stores but mostly online or on gift cards to be redeemed), much of the bulk gift cards got laundered into cold hard cash by the immediate reselling of the gift cards or by using gift cards to buy/acquire more gift cards and THEN finally converting it to cash.

End of my OT comment, but just thought I would share.

ON-topic though, I enjoy collecting covers and since my first Heroic pull was Classic Mags with Translocation (favorite all time character), it helped to settle the pace for me a bit as I am happy to see my Mags lol but the increase in Prologue difficulty since R47 and my luck with ISO-20s has put a damper on my enjoyment of pure singleplayer goodness.

I caught R47 at a bad time, I think. I was JUST about ready to push through Juggernaut to get my Thors but the upped difficulty really pushed me back and the 'team up' nodes were especially difficult because of added nerfing.

I lost interest (which is why I am behind in leveling despite having nearly 50 days under my belt) and with my Token pulls netting me singles of characters I couldn't build, I was further 'stuck'.

Everyone says PvE and some PvP is easy for newer players but that wasn't my personal experience.

Since I started in november I thought they should have had bosses with special mechanics like many full game puzzle games have. Imagine a fight with the red hood where he drops down instant ko tiles every 3 turns and your point is to use captain America to aim and destroy these tiles with his shield attacks while your other teammates use thier ap to deal more substantial damage. Or a doctor octopus fight where he swipes the screen every other turn in pillars to simulate his robot arms attacking. Or thanos fight where he changes colors to symbolize the infinity gauntlet and you can only damage him with moves of the same color (or reverse, can damage with anything hut his current color). Stuff like that.

I think.they moved somewhat in a nice direction with the 1000-5000k iso reward..but it shouldnt steal iso out of what you earn (they clearly are taking ISI rewards away from is at a startling rate over last few events) and it should require a fun and special fight to earn, shouldnt require some silky group goal, but instead require you to beat all nodes in a map to unlock it.
  • I've just reached day 72 of the daily drops and in between those 72 days there have been at least 3 days where I didn't play at all. Two of those days were during the last event. I just barely skirted the surface during the Black Panther event just enough to get a cover for Panther. I was too burnt out from grinding during the Psylocke event and with both events so close together I just didn't have it in me. I keep playing because collecting the all the covers is kinda addicting the same way catching all of the Pokemon is.
