Losing interest in the game
Been playing for almost 3 months now and it's been fun
But it's just starting to dawn on me just how repetitive the game is, when you think about it it's just a match 3 game with a couple of extra mechanics
It went from something fun and new to what now feels like just a chore and a grind
How are all the other older players holding up? What keeps you going? Is it still fun or is it just the commitment and addiction?

All of the above. This community is another big reason I keep playing and having fun; I like the challenge of figuring out the metagame and discussing it with others.0 -
This game made me read a lot of comics and I'm waiting for every Wednesday when new ones are released. I especially like the x-men ones. It's true that the game isn't super fun and has a pretty limited gameplay, hoping there'll be bit a bigger social aspect to it in the future with alliances.0

I'm still plugging away, but my play time is way down. Playing 3 hours to earn 5-6k in ISO (on a good day) only to have that level up one of my characters 2-3 levels is quite often soul crushing. Especially when I have an Ipad full of games that I can jump in and have fun right away.
I haven't even chased down DD/BP covers because it's just two more characters I won't be able to level up. So, I used to get excited about new characters being released and how they might interact in my rosters, but now they just represent another mountain of match-3 grinding (60-80 hours) to even get a chance to fully appreciate them. So why bother?
So, I play about an hour a day, earn a couple easy awards and go play something more gratifying instead.0 -
Yeah, I hear ya OP. The last few PVE events have really ruined it for me.
Enjoying PVP a bit more now after tanking the hell out of my MMR, but I'm not playing half as much as I used to.
I bought Out There on iOS yesterday and it has grabbed me very quickly. A rogue-like space exploration game with very pretty comic-book graphics, highly recommended!0 -
Collecting all the covers is what keeps me interested. But I'm starting to think that keeping a roster of low level characters might be detrimental. Does Having a larger roster of almost every character make you open to more attacks? For example, will my weaker characters be shuffled into an available attack for other players. And will I be open to all ranges of levels?
Can anyone shed some info on this?0 -

I assume you're talking about PvP, regarding what other people see as your team. Your team is whoever you used to win your last match in that event: exactly those characters at exactly the level and cover count that you had when you won that match.0 -
Opponents will see your last-used team for an event, so having low-level characters only makes you susceptible to attack if they were in the last team you used. Now, if you want to be susceptible to attack (i.e. to lower your match rank), then having lowbies is actually beneficial. It is also beneficial because different heroes are boosted in different events. Having a larger roster means a higher probability of having that boosted character, who you can then bring out and play with. For example, Captain America, who is nearly useless otherwise, is often boosted for PVE events, where he makes a huge tank and his powers are somewhat useful.0

Yeah I agree . I am really starting to get pissed with the thoughtless changes in the game. They seem like they are more concerned with milking money from the game community. I.E. lowering boost, charging hero points instead of iso, skip tax....etc. I have lowered my game play by about 70 percent because of these things.0

The game feeds 2 things: free time killer on phone and gaming at home. Part if why it has worked is the gaming at home hasn't been full of new games recently. Cod ghost ..which wasn't great...was about it for a while. Now I downloaded plants v zombie garden warefare (lots of fun, can play with kids/bros/hos pretty decently) last week and its been taking up the at home time. Dark souls 2 and titanfall are out next week too. So now the game fits snuggly into my "on the go" section of playing...but its too time sensitive to be a "just for a little while" game to some extent.
That said, I went from monster hours spent to over the last month or so barely playing (well..comparatively lol). I think part of that is due to 230 fights around EVERY corner instead of a few challenging fights and to feeling bored with the game. Like you said, its just a match 3 with a little bit of extra mechanics and a trickled in story.
Without the forum I honestly would have been done with it a while ago. I have spent more time on the forum than in game over the last month I would gander. Forums have basically Been what determined if I have stopped a phone game quickly or kept playing. Then there are low impact games like pvz and RPG that ae done at your own leisure, and while I like those, they are only sometime treats...or they are burned through quickly. Ex: zenonia. I bought the 2nd one. Loved it. Got the 3rd one which was f2p and enjoyed it but played it less than #2. Afyeall, it was the same game but with a little bit of pay content in it that lowers the enjoyment just a tad. Then I played the 4th and 5th and just played the 4th through once while not even really finishing the 5th. The actual gameplay hadent evolved in 3 years or whatever it had been and it just felt like the same game with the same "allz your base are belong to us" Korean story. Similar here. No interesting new mechanics and one of the most interestingoves, magneto's blue, is certainly going to be nerfed. Sure, they could implement something that kept it the same lvl of fun without being op such as making it so matches when the blue is used are only 75% of thier normal damage...but the coding is enough work that they instead will balance it by making the move boring instead. One of the few moves that takes conscious thought to use...destroyed.0 -
Or guys like JimRichey who have a win button. Coming across people who have every character completely maxed including the 4* or the ones who came out a few days earlier is irritating. Would be nice if the next batch of updates are just fixing hacks. I wouldn't use them because what's the point of playing if you do but it's still irritating seeing people do that0

Thanks for the info guys.
I must admit though, as a match three game, it's pretty fun. I loved the original Puzzle Quest series as well.0 -

Yeah that guy was clogging up my PvP nodes in back to back tournaments the elite one and whatever one was running concurrently was really annoying. Ban Hammer pls.0 -

I enjoy match 3 games and I enjoy teh meta elements.
I especially enjoyed the Simulator where they put new unusual combinations of challenges in front of me.
I die a little inside each time I face the stock DAs in PvE. They seriously need to release like 5 Thunderbolts at once to give an alternate regular enemy force.0 -

Recently I haven't been leveling anyone who isn't a featured character so I go through a pretty long period of not leveling anyone (because the I have the relevent featured characters maxed for their covers or at least as high I feel I need them) and then I'll suddenly dump 40K into Psylocke.
I do think we need a different variety of enemies in PvE. How about the same story from the DA point of view?0 -

I hope they do this when they introduce the next 3* villain: it would be a perfect way to get those neglected villains doing PvE events like what we had in the simulator.0 -

He is the player I reported yesterday. The all maxed out roster (literally every character in the game) is one thing, but the alarm bells start ringing for me when you don't recognise a name. Someone with a roster that strong, you'd have expected to see at the top table for a while.
As I wrote on the Facebook group, I did not flat out accuse the guy of cheating, but I've asked the devs to investigate all the same. I'd like to think I have a pretty decent feel for what is possible from a big spending player, having done that myself!0 -

As a villain sympathist, I'd love to see this. Not just in MPQ, but video games in general - why do we always have to be the hero who saves the day? I love playing villainous characters in games like Skyrim. I struggle to see how they would make it viable in the sense of this games storyline though.0
