That first hood round was really not competitive at all. Hope the NA players stay inactive during work hours.

Yeah, I played a few matches cooking my tea, and was surprised to see I finished top 50.

Huh. I went home at lunch, played a few matches and put in my tank team, and was expecting 70 ISO when I got home. Admittedly, my tank team had managed to win a match before I left (admittedly, they're not terrible - 30 GSBW and 28 IM40; they're the lowest-levelled people I have who I can reliably win a match with).
  • good advice from previous posters

I usually roll with Patch/OBW/Villain until about 200 to to maximize speed.

Once I get into the 200s I roll with Magento/Doom/Villain to make myself a less attractive target.

Play while US is sleeping for less resistance.

Shield up in last 15 mins if you don't have a threatening roster and you're in good position for placement.

Is anyone else having problems getting attacked? i have 144 points, then i put out a team of BP level 18, Hood level 15 and Magneto level 14. In the last 30 minutes i havent been attacked omce.

With the skip tax your chances of being hit have gone down, I recomend getting to at least 100 points or more early, than tanking, you'll be worth a bit more when people are queing up matches and you will look appetizing, thats my two cents.
  • I got 1/5 doom and i'm aiming at 25-50 placement. Problem is i'm not dropping below 25 and there isn't much time left. How much rating do you lose if you just suicide into a guy that would give you 20points?
  • LR are too brutal for me. After 200 all I see is monster teams I have no chance to beat. So I play until I get to 100 and get the token and the ISO. You can make 1200-1400 ISO with minimal effort. Anything more is out of the question. Maybe when my roster has some high leveled 3*. Then again, LR is the best way to get those covers so it ends up with those who already having good rosters getting these covers.

You seem to lose a lot for retreating, probably 30-35. Not sure if actually playing and losing is different. The first LR I got to 250 points and hoped to get beaten a couple of times to get heroic token, but I only got attacked twice in the whole round and won both! This meant I was going to finish about #47 so I retreated from a battle to try to finish in the #50 - #100 range, but lost about 35 points from the retreat and went down to #111. The 3* token worth is now worth 500 iso to me as I have full villain covers and the #100-#250(?) range gives 500 iso anyway so not much difference for me between #47 and #111.

I ploughed up to 300 pts, then put in Lv6 Bagman and Lv1 C. Hawkeye. Got hit plenty of times; I concur that it is better to score more points before you put it in, if you can.
  • All good advice. The only thing I'd add is if you're having trouble rising in the points, to regard them as a good iso generator (which they are). If you get the 50 or 100 point rewards and a bunch of Iso off matches, you're not wasting your time.

Yup. For the longest time I was just hitting the seed teams (before I even knew they were seed teams) and getting around 1000 ISO per lightning round. Never made much of a run until relatively recently, but I can compete on these when I'm willing to put in the effort (and it's a lot of effort) since I've got Doom and Rags in the 70s and Loki and Mags in the 60s.
  • Any advice to avoid getting retaliations? It feels like everyone else is just shielding like mad and then gang up on me when there is 10-15 minutes left. 2 LR's in a row I would have been better off shielding with 15-30 mins to go and just waiting.

The first one I got knocked from 350 points to 225 in 5 mins. Went from 12th place to a top 500 finisher (I gave up at that point).

Second I had a beefier team, since I actually have a decently levelled hood and it was his round. I was bouncing in the 7-9th place range and then WHAM WHAM WHAM. I managed to end up top 50, but I'm having to fight my **** off the whole time.

It's the catch-22/rich-get-richer thing that is frustrating the hell out of me. I never even heard of the game until I saw it on steam, so I started early Dec and a lot of people have a large advantage. Heroic tokens are useless to me and I'm not quite strong enough to get a 3* reward, unless I boost/shield/etc like mad just to get one cover. Losing 1/3 of your earned points in 5 mins is really frustrating.
  • Also - I like Hood, but it's always hard to fit him in when you really only have room for 2 characters (since doom/mags/etc is mandatory and mine suck).

I've been using Widow/2* Wolverine and doing fairly well, I have healing/support/damage. It's hard to decide who would get dropped for Hood - he can cover off Window's agressive recon, but the lack of healing would hurt. Dropping Wolvie means dropping my damage, though and I'd have to slowly whittle guys down, which is awful in LR

I'm considering Hood/Storm (she's only 70 now, but can get to 85) and try to rush Wind Storm, stunning their most damaging character and heavily wounding the rest. By the 2nd Wind Storm, it's usually over. But again...no healing.
  • Tried to be competetive for the Hood lightning round and noticed, that my team must still suck (85 OBW, 100 Patch, 15 Hood)... or Hood rounds are the most competetive of them all.

Plateaud around 220 points, got the daily bonus popup and while clicking through that was hit thrice falling back to 160 points. Then clawed myself back to 200 and constantly falling back to 150 again. After 40 minutes of this repeating, I just gave up and sit back and relax now. Was always jumping between rank 130-300 and it's really no use if I can't even get into the Diabolical Token range.

Granted... I don't have a Hood and I'm stuck with the level 15 pity Hood they give you, which might be the main reason, why I'm always hit.

Guess I'll just have to give up on getting a single Hood cover, considering the Diabolical pack is way to expensive for my taste as well -.-

People with strong boosted villains will be able to run roughshod over that team. I wasn't able to get diabolicals until I had villains in the 60s, as I recall, and even then, it was at off times. I'm in the same boat regarding Hood, so even with a reasonably strong set of the other villains (75th level Doom and Ragnarok, 66th Magneto, 64th Loki), I never do more than a seed teams and tank in Hood rounds.
