Is MPQ still fun for you? (Poll)

I voted ambivalent.
I'm on day 267. I play casually, with short bursts of obsession when I'm trying to get a particular reward. I have 1 fully covered 3* (Black Panther) and a few championed 2*, a number of other 3* between 8-10 covers. Oh, and 1 5* SS.
Let me start with why I did not vote Yes. I was thrilled when I cashed in my CP and pulled a red SS. I used him in a few PvP and PvE matches until I realized that he was only good as a meat shield with the single cover. I haven't used him in over a month. I feel like just having him on my roster is causing havok with my PvP matchups. After the 1st round I get matched up against players with multiple maxed out 3* and some built up 4*s. Not fun at all.
So I moved away from PvP and focused solely on DDQ and PvE. PvE is still good difficulty-wise, but the stories are getting repetitive. A lot of times it feels like a chore to play. Please come up with new twists on PvE. It's not hard to do. I read someone mentioned the idea of a survival mode where you keep playing in waves until you wipe. That would be a fun change of pace, and should be easy to implement.
I enjoy the gameplay. Aside from some useless characters, I try and play using a variety of my roster to keep things fresh. Still, there are some 4* characters who have been collecting dust with their 1-3 covers for months now. It's not fun being a 3* player and seeing nothing but new 4* and 5* cahracters come out faster than I can even hope to get a single cover for.
So I'm stuck in a love-hate with this game.0 -
I voted yes.....But that will change to a no if they don't make the transition to 4 stars move faster relatively soon. The chasm is getting wider and my ability to collect 4 star skins remains the trickle that it is...not to mention how much of a joke the ddq 5 day node is since it's pointless unless you have already made the transition.0

Yes, you might have put lots of money and time into this game, but spending precious life time with doing things that are actually fun should be more important...
Ha ha Stinky, believe me I've been trying to quit this game since forever! It's not as easy as it sounds!!!
With everything going on right now, this might be the perfect time to let go.. but I'm sure that I'll keep hanging on!0 -
Day 841, and I voted no. While I still enjoy the core game play as I have for all of the puzzle quest games since the first one on my Nintendo DS, I'm tired of using the same handful of characters each event. I'm tired of facing the same 40-50 people over and over and over again from 100 - 1300+ every single event. I'm tired of the constant ISO shortage. I'm tired of a point system that absolutely punishes you based not on the strength of your victory or defeat, but rather the point difference between you. And I'm especially tired of putting in all that time and effort while dealing with all of the issues stated above on my climb to 1300+ points just for one more pull on a stupid slot machine handle.
I really hope there is a huge change to the event system announced soon like the tiered events mentioned by several others. I figure I have enough HP to get me through the next season, maybe 2. If there isn't a sign of major changes before I run out of HP then it will be time to move on. I'd rather not have that happen.0 -
Yes,because i dont shield check every tom,**** and harry anymore the game has been given a new lease of life.0

With each passing event I am more and more inclined to say "No". I am just tired of the same gameplay in PvP (only thing keeping me "alive" is the 13th IceMan cover at the end of the season to see where I can go with him maxed) where the reasonable time allows only to go to 1k (my progression has immensely slowed down).
But the thing I hate the most about this game is being punished for making progress... I can't have more difficult time with the PvE now compared to when I was one year ago. It defies all logic - the same PvE should be much easier (and there should be new challenging content with better rewards should I choose to play it). I think the lack of real PvE (not counting DDQ - it's still great but not enough) is what will eventually make me uninstall the game (or my wife will make me do it... one of the two).0 -
Quick synopsis of my situation: I'm coming up on my two year daily reward. Started playing within the first week or so after the game came out, and took an extended break a while back due to burnout. (For about whatever the difference in time is between the furthest rewards right now and 2 years.) I have all the 4*'s rostered, with a pair championed. Several other 4* with max covers, but levels under 200 due to iso being in short supply. All 3* are max covered and about 2/3 of them champed. Have every 5* but GG, with a level 360 Phoenix my highest, and a 1 cover BSSM my lowest.0

Fun
For me, since championing was introduced it gave me several goals. I had capped all my 3's at 140, getting ready to push to 166, so now I aim for one championed 3 per week, which is easily doable. The reward from the current PvE is normally best so it works well.
All tokens are worth a lot more now, and with each PvE I'm seeing progression in strengthening my 4* roster.
I love getting a cascade of tokens from championing, and since Moving 20 or so 3's to champs I'm finding PvP and PvE much more fun.
Happy times for me, and its not feeling as stale as it was before.0 -
Voted ambivalent.
I like match-3 as a mechanic that could allow short matches during breaks at work, spiced up with nice abilities. On top of that, there could be worse universes than Marvel's to play it in.
I must say that with DPD in the game the whole entry level (1-3* up to championing) of the game is smooth. That's an additional positive.
And that's it for me.
Marvel is an amazing universe, but nothing is done at all with that universe apart from pushing out new covers at a punishing rate, with most of the releases receiving a lukewarm response only. The latter would be okay-ish if the 99% of the playerbase that doesn't whale could progress at a decent rate anyway. But it can't: the means are missing.
The former is depending on manpower in development of course, but.... There are 70+ character of 3* and higher in the game, but apart from Simulator and Gauntlet we still see the 2* toons from the prologue over and over and over again. Seems the devs don't even try to give their releases a place in the game.
Why not opt for more one-and-done Gauntlet-like events, which actually encourage a broad roster?
Those also at the least incorporate a "Puzzle" element, if only through a more thoughtful approach in team selection.0 -
It's also interesting to note how few resounding yesses there are. It's almost unanimously "yes, but..."0

Nope, that's why I stopped playing and deleted the app 2 weeks ago. So much time sunk into it and sod all to show for it. A 4* transition which will never end, and even if it did I would just be fodder for 5*s. Fun...0

voted no, i stopped playing when i figured 4* DDQ was not for the 3* to 4* transition. one idea for the shortage would be to give a % iso bonus based on how many character you have slotted, can be characters unlocked rank or maybe 1% per on your team roster. (maybe you will load up on single 4* in empty roster slots to increase the bonus)
this game is a mobile game it should be fast fights, they slowed it down with the hp boost and the 3* nerfs. it would be very interesting to have a team bonus based on relationships each of your three characters have that give boosts ranging from AP generation per turn, starting with extra ap of a specific color, a colored power cost one or two less to play, start off with 3 medium , , or tiles, or teams that doubles rewards won (non top tier team or maybe event specific) so you can capitalize on those rare rewards. if was fun having 2 minute matches, IDK why they messed that up.
also update rewards to reflect 4*s and 5* are the new thing.0
