Fun Fact: Oscorp Heroic was the first event where I did event threads on the forum (wow, way back in November). Seems rather fitting that it will be my (second to) last one for a while. I'll be on extended holidays for 2 months, so I won't be in a position to create these threads anymore. If anyone would like to take over starting 07 March, feel free!

I'm psyched for this, that's three more covers toward a red 4* Cyke (for my currently useless 0/3/4 cyke). I'll take him anyway I can get him since RNG has forsaken me.0 -

Where's the 4* cyke? I only see 4* Deadpool as placement rewards for top 100 -

Any lineup suggestions for the second-to-last node of sub 1 (i.e. Juggs, Daken, Venom)? 2* Thor/R&G/Captain Marvel scraped by, but I'm thinking that 4hor might be better able to control Juggs. (My IMHB is 3/3/1 -- from what I've heard not ready for prime-time.)0

Your 4hor would work well with Captain Marvel actually. She's got the levels that she should be able to tank 4hor's yellow and maybe even red if she's center position (not sure if the event boosting might throw that off tho). Just get her out in front to accelerate your red and black ap when she gets hit. You may even want to swap out your R&G for someone who can take advantage of the black generation too, like maybe your 3* storm. Her green can help accelerate 4hor too, just be careful not to leave her exposed before they fire off a power.
The stun from 4Hor will help, just make sure you're in position to snatch up any charged red tiles before they can. Her yellow can convert Daken's tiles too.0 -
For me, this is the most miserable heroic I've ever played. I've always enjoyed having a drain support character, and as far as I can remember the previous heroics had at least one of the following: 2* Black Widow (I even have two OBW specifically for these occasions), Hood or Loki.
None of those for this heroic. You allowed Jugs to collect 6 red or 6 green? Suck it up, you're going to need a healthpack for the next fight.
I've never been this annoyed for a heroic, ever. Bye Bye 4* Deadpool...
On a side note I am enjoying 4*Thor, Nick Fury and MoStorm for both their essential nodes, but MoStorm is ridiculously squishy.0 -
I'm with pasaba - this event is horrible. jumped in and my first clear wiped on smash n grab (jugs/daken/venom). scaling hasn't even kicked in yet. might farm some iso, but I doubt I make the cp progression. just not fun without one of: hood, loki, im40, witch. roster restricted to extremely slow characters - hb, 4thor, kp, grocket, gsbw, fury, 2thor - nothing fast in the entire bunch except maybe cmags and ares, but with the nerf, they only do so much against 20K health. hb can just absorb and overwhelm, but that's no fun and there's no strategy to it. we'll see how far I make it in this one - might just go all out on LRs this week - 1/1 for t50.0

Oddly enough, I'm finding some success with less than optimally covered characters, at least in regards to accelerating things. I wish my Kingpin was at 5/3/5 instead of the 3/5/5 I currently have (not maxed leveled), but his 5 has actually helped to drain 6 of the strongest enemy color while fueling 8 . Instead of letting Kingpin use it, I've been feeding it to 4hor to get her going. At 5/5/3, her yellow takes care of countdown tiles too, so she's been a godsend when managing goon nodes (I really wish I had been aware of this in the first sub of Rocket & Groot PVE). Once her charged tiles are out, that speeds up the other good stuff too if you can match them quickly.
Captain Marvel also really helps, if you can get her to take the hits (not easy to do if you've got a good HB and 4hor with her tho). Helps minimize to the health pack use to just her. Storm is unfortunately too squishy to go after her so I'm only using her on the essential and trivial nodes.
It's working for now, we'll see how much scaling kicks me in the rear now that I've posted that.
UPDATE: Oh, and of course, Iron Fist makes the 2nd sub a whole lot more fun too.0 -
My Storm has over 10K health with the boost, but yeah, even against goons (who've been scaled up pretty high for me), she doesn't take too many hits before she's a goner.0

Yeah, the whole "Heroics are great because they let you experiment" argument doesn't really apply when you're forced to use one character on 2/3 the nodes due to scaling. I almost never use Hulkbuster in PvE, but in this event he's 80 levels higher than the next guy down, and no one else can take on level 300+ opponents.
I've been using him with Mohawk and BWGS. Things escalate quickly once you get to 11 purple. Even with Iron Fist as a reinforcement, I'll keep using Tony's sort-of angels. IF is a better accelerator, but I'm keeping health packs in mind before using Buster's black.0 -
oh wow, the chances of beating smash and grab node are quite low
allow jug to collect 6 red and you're done, not to mention ALL 3 have been boosted beyond stupid. It's bad enough juggs has 17k HP but don't give danken 10k and venom 13k...it's ridiculous
thank god my vision is already fully covered therefore I require almost nothing from this event0
